Chapter 75 Your mother still cares about you.

Qian Bowen appeared in the courtyard with Ryukyu. He was still as frail as ever, as if the wind could blow him over. It was late at night and the wind was cold. Even though he was wearing thick roe deer clothing, he still coughed because of the cold wind.

Ryukyu looked at his young master with a worried expression. He couldn't resist his young master's insistence on coming over, and he was afraid he would be punished when they got back.

"Young Master, what brings you here?" When Lianxin saw Qian Bowen, she felt no surprise, only shock.

He was afraid that if the young master, who looked so frail, were to suffer an accident here, the madam would certainly not forgive the eldest daughter.

Cough cough...

After coughing several times, Qian Bowen finally caught his breath and asked, "Is my sister asleep?"

"Young Miss..." Lianxin didn't finish her sentence before a voice came from inside the room.

"Why aren't you letting the young master in? It wouldn't be good if he caught a cold." Qian Youxue stood inside the door, looking at the two of them, master and servant, and wondered why Qian Bowen had come.

However, since she was already there, she wanted to see what illness her younger brother had that had caused him to become so thin.

Hearing his sister's voice, Qian Bowen walked happily to the door, but then suddenly remembered something and turned back to instruct, "Don't come in, I need to talk to my older sister."

Ryukyu bit her lip, seemingly wanting to say something but unable to, and could only wait outside the door with Lianxin.

Qian Bowen pushed open the door and saw his older sister reading a book at the table. He paused for a moment, then quickly smiled and walked over.

Qian Youxue stepped forward with concern to support Qian Bowen, and her body stiffened abruptly the moment she took his hand.

Strange, why does he have such a strong aura of coldness? But although it is a cold-related illness, it is not quite the same as the one on someone else.

Moreover, there seemed to be a particularly familiar aura about him, an aura that he had definitely seen somewhere before, but he couldn't quite place it.

"Big sister likes reading medical books?" Qian Bowen's gaze swept across the table, spotting several medical books, some of which he had read before. He couldn't help it; long illness had made him a doctor, and he just wanted to try and survive.

Qian Youxue snapped out of her daze and waited for Qian Bowen to sit down before pouring him a cup of hot tea and handing it to him: "Have a sip of hot tea before we talk. It's so cold outside, you shouldn't have come."

After taking a sip of hot tea, Qian Bowen's complexion looked slightly better, but his hands were still icy cold.

He forced a smile and said, "If you like medical books, I'll have some sent over from Ryukyu tomorrow. I have plenty."

"No need, my sister doesn't know many characters, she'll just take a look." Qian Youxue cautiously declined, then paused and asked, "Does Mother know you're coming?"

Qian Bowen's smile froze, and then he shook his head blankly. He didn't understand why, even though they were siblings born of the same mother, their mother wouldn't allow him to get too close to his older sister.

Having received the answer, Qian Youxue felt a slight chill run through her heart, but ultimately, she still felt distressed.

"Perhaps, perhaps, Mother is afraid that my illness will affect my eldest sister, that's why she's doing this. Don't overthink it, eldest sister, Mother still cares about you very much." Qian Bowen saw the sadness in his eldest sister's eyes and quickly spoke up for his mother.

Yeah?

Qian Youxue felt that Qian Bowen himself wouldn't believe such a thing, otherwise, his expression wouldn't be so unpleasant.

This seemingly kind-hearted boy looked sickly, making him all the more endearing.

She raised her hand, intending to take his pulse properly, when she heard her mother's angry shouts coming from the courtyard, startling both of them to their feet.
