Chapter Sixty-Nine: Cold is Good

Lianxin didn't think so if she hadn't said anything, but even Yunhe couldn't help but shiver, especially when she was standing at this doorway. She felt that there was something particularly cold and eerie inside, which made her feel very uneasy.

Qian Youxue was stunned for a moment. After taking a deep breath using her spiritual power, she smelled a peculiar medicinal fragrance. It was faint, and you really couldn't smell it unless you were paying close attention.

Could this Mr. Buyu be an alchemist?

If that's the case, she could probably understand why there was such a cold and gloomy atmosphere here. There must be something extraordinary growing in the courtyard, something that would most likely help someone with the poison.

Before they could knock, the door opened, and a man dressed as a servant came out. He smiled and gestured for them to come in: "Miss Qian, please come in!"

How did this guy know I was coming? Does he even know divination?

A sense of curiosity arose in Qian Youxue's heart, so she asked the man to lead the way and led the two maids into the courtyard.

Lianxin tugged at Yunhe's sleeve with some fear and whispered, "I have a feeling this place is strange. Should we persuade Miss to go back?"

"Nothing will happen in broad daylight, just stick close to me." Yunhe was used to Lianxin's timidity, but she still acknowledged her master's loyalty.

Lianxin responded softly, nervously following beside Yunhe, keeping a close eye on her master, afraid that he would disappear in the blink of an eye.

The yard was planted with many flowers, but not the most beautiful and fragrant ones; instead, it contained medicinal herbs whose names few people knew.

That's probably why Qian Youxue felt happy as soon as she entered the door.

I glanced at them and saw several rare varieties. Even if an ordinary person found them, they might not be able to keep these medicinal flowers alive.

She paused briefly as she passed a rockery.

A few wild grasses grew on the rocky hill, dotted with a few small flowers of different colors. It looked bare, and most people probably wouldn't give it a second glance.

The courtyard was surrounded by herbs and flowers, but the artificial hill looked so desolate and out of place with the other scenery in the courtyard.

“Miss, the owner of this place is really interesting.” Yunhe also noticed the artificial hill and felt it was a bit of an eyesore.

Yawn! Yawn!

Lianxin sneezed several times in a row, feeling the eeriness growing stronger. She rubbed her arms together and whispered fearfully, "Why...why is it so cold?"

"It's supposed to be cold!" Qian Youxue replied with a calm smile, and continued walking forward with the person who came.

It seems that this Mr. Bu Yu is the one who usually helps someone control the toxins in their body. She had suspected he was a member of the Dongming clan because of his surname, and now it can be confirmed that Dongming Huo is indeed a member of the Dongming clan.

What a genius!

If she hadn't seen this in the psychic space, she wouldn't have recognized it. Those seemingly ordinary wildflowers were actually a very rare and precious medicinal herb—the Cold Grass. If she wasn't mistaken, the method used was to fight poison with poison, adding the Cold Grass to other medicinal herbs to counteract the cold poison in someone's body.

The person leading the way slowed down, waiting for Qian Youxue to catch up before quickening their pace to lead her to the innermost courtyard.

The two courtyards we passed afterward were also planted with various medicinal herbs, and the further we went in, the stronger the smell of the herbs became.

As they entered the last courtyard, the person leading the way suddenly stopped: "Miss Qian, our young master prefers peace and quiet. You may go in by yourself, but the other two young ladies may stay here and have tea with me."

"No!" Yunhe shouted unhappily, a high level of vigilance appearing in his eyes.
