Chapter 119: Twenty-three Layers of Building Blocks (Su Yunling Lilith)
“Where’s the boss?”
Su Yunling grabbed the faceless man on the ground by the collar and pointed the blood-stained iron rod at his neck. Her tone was calm - but anyone with eyes could see that she was in a bad mood.
“…I don’t know.” The mist on the faceless man’s body slowly rose and fell, and his voice was weak. “He never comes to the company. I have never seen him.”
"Then how do we leave this layer of building blocks?" Su Yunling asked.
The Faceless Man was silent for a moment, as if thinking, and then said: "Pass through the Rule Building, but I don't know how to leave."
Su Yunling let go of it and let it lie back on the ground. She stood up, inserted the iron rod into her belt, and looked at the time on her watch.
22:23 evening.
Since entering the game, Su Yunling has killed several "colleagues" who tried to teach her how to do things. Just after returning from get off work, a colleague in the same dormitory tried to attack her, but she beat him to a pulp.
This game is annoying.
Su Yunling's body was originally restricted, and she could only feel the joy of free movement in the game.
And here, there are rules everywhere that surround and restrict her. She, who has never worked before, has to work for a shitty boss and live in such a shabby place. It is really unbearable!
She wants to leave this layer of bricks immediately!
Shit works best.
She opened the door angrily and went out, and immediately bumped into the dormitory manager who was sticking to the door.
The moment they bumped into each other, she quickly took the key from the other person's waist and hung it on the back of her belt. The next second, as if she was bounced back by the impact of the collision, she gathered the hem of her coat and apologized:
"I'm sorry, dorm manager, I didn't expect you to be squatting outside the door."
"You are not allowed to wander outside at night!" The dormitory manager stared at her with eyes that she could not see at all, and his gaze was scorching.
"Eh? But it's not lights out yet at half past ten, right? I left something at the company and need to go back to get it. Sorry, sister, I'll be back soon."
She looked calm, but her tone was slightly raised, with an inexplicable sarcasm. The dormitory manager was stunned and analyzed her attitude, but did not stop her for a moment, letting her walk away.
Su Yunling walked downstairs quickly, not giving the dormitory manager any chance to stop her.
She remembered every word of the "Employee Dormitory Management Rules" on the first floor clearly.
Now, except for the dormitory manager, no one in the entire building would go out. She just had to avoid the dormitory manager.
Why not knock down the dormitory manager? It would easily lead to a mass riot in the entire dormitory. She didn't want that.
"You're having fun beating people up. I'm the only one without a body, forced to stay in this crappy place." A female voice sounded in her mind, and Lilith said faintly, "I want to be a player, too."
After Lilith was taken away from the Feiniao World by Su Yunling, she worked with Su Yunling to build the infrastructure in her world until they entered the game T.
The game determined that Lilith was a part of Su Yunling, brought her in, and then let her stay in Su Yunling's mind as a backstage spirit.
She can see what Su Yunling sees and feel what Su Yunling feels, but she cannot control Su Yunling's body, nor can she know things that Su Yunling does not know. She is just a "narration" in Su Yunling's mind.
"It's a bit rude to call my brain a broken place." Su Yunling communicated with Lilith through telepathy while walking down the stairs.
"If you were here, you would also say this is a shabby place." Lilith did not change her words.
The staff dormitory has six floors, and Su Yunling quickly went down from the sixth floor to the first floor.
There was a door on the wall behind the stairs on the first floor. She took the key from her waist and opened it.
"Stop! Who told you to steal my key!" From above came the sound of the dormitory manager's hurried footsteps and angry voice coming down the stairs.
Anyone who stands still is a fool.
Su Yunling flashed into the passage, closed the door tightly, and then ran along the passage.
The Rules Building...she remembered that it was the building opposite the Best Work Ltd. Building.
When she returned to the dormitory after work, she wanted to explore the door leading to the rule building, but there were too many colleagues staring at her and she didn't have the chance.
The sound of her footsteps could be heard in the corridor, and soon, footsteps were heard from the opposite direction.
After a pause, she heard their chatter coming down the silent passage:
"The newcomer is so bold that he even dared to steal the dormitory manager's key."
The dormitory manager sent someone to look for her.
She quickened her pace.
The passage is straight and there is only so much space, there is nowhere to hide and no way to retreat.
The distance from the staff dormitory to the Rule Building is farther than from the company to the Rule Building.
As she saw the stairs going up, she came face to face with two faceless men approaching with guns.
"You're done." Lilith said casually, and it was hard to tell how much of the anticipation for a good show was contained in her slightly raised tone.
Su Yunling's current physical condition is not as good as in the previous game. Most of her strength is retained, but her brain's "computing power" is not enough, so it is impossible for her to dodge bullets.
"You are the one who is finished." Su Yunling said, "I still have three points of life left. Who knows how this life is calculated?"
The gun on the opposite side was pointed at her, but she was not afraid. She rushed forward holding the iron rod at her waist!
There is nowhere to hide here, just move forward!
With a bang!
Su Yunling leaned back and a bullet flew past her nose and in front of her eyes.
As she expected, the other party shot her upper body. This didn't count, it was her subconscious reaction.
Following the impact of the sliding force, she knocked down one of the opponents with a bang, and the two fell together.
According to her calculations, the other person's head missed her body and hit the ground with a thud, making her dizzy.
She pulled out the pistol from the other man's waist and shot the other man who was worried about shooting his companion.
Then he pushed away the still dizzy person on his body and fired a shot.
"Not bad." Lilith praised, and then joked, "Luckily the floor here is slippery enough."
"Tsk." Su Yunling said, "It's obviously thanks to me that I ran forward, otherwise the distance was too far and it would be impossible for me to knock down someone while dodging bullets."
Su Yunling picked up the weapons of the losers, rubbed her smashed abdomen, and walked towards the stairs leading to the Building of Rules with a grin on her face.
"Why is it so heavy even though it's foggy?"
Go up the stairs and open the door to go out.
[B1st floor]
She pushed open the stairwell door and pointed her gun at the empty kitchen.
"Hmm?" She lowered the gun in confusion and listened attentively.
Very quiet.
Nothing at all.
"It's very strange." Lilith said.
Indeed, Su Yunling took a few sharp kitchen knives from the wall and walked out to an empty restaurant.
Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a yellow figure flash outside the restaurant door.
She followed without hesitation.
Outside was the elevator and a closed tea room, and there was no one anywhere.
“Eh——?”
A soft, ethereal female voice rang in my ears, as if it was from a long distance away, yet so clear.
Before Su Yunling could ask, Lilith said, "I heard it, too."
Su Yunling checked around and confirmed that there was no one there.
"Ha ha."
Soft laughter sounded around her, as if someone was laughing around her.
After searching for a while and confirming that she couldn't find the other person, Su Yunling looked at her watch. It was almost eleven o'clock in the evening.
No matter who it is or what they are doing in the dark, she can't waste time. She should find a way to leave here.
Ignoring the strange sound, she turned to look at the floor plan on the wall next to the elevator, her eyebrows gradually furrowed.
Three hundred and thirty-three floors?
Looking at the rule building from Work Awesome Ltd, none is so tall.
With so many floors, you might not be able to find a way to leave in one night.
She set her sights directly on the top floor [Office of the Rules Agent].
Just go to the top floor.
Just as she was about to press the elevator button, a hand suddenly reached out from behind and rested on her shoulder.
A soft, ethereal voice came: "Hello."
She dodged by jumping to the side and looked back.
A young woman in a yellow uniform looked at her with a smile. She had clear features, short black hair, brown eyes, and a row of snow-white knives hanging around her waist.
"...Who are you?" Su Yunling spoke cautiously.
“Wu Li. Wu means “Wu Yun” and Li means “Li”.” The woman said, “Do you want to leave here? I can take you away.”
The moment she heard the other party's name, Su Yunling seemed to hear a rumbling thunder, just like Wu Li's voice, but as if there was some layer between them, distant and ethereal.
Su Yunling looked at Wu Li's shadowy figure that seemed like a projection and readily agreed: "Then I'll trouble you."
Lilith: "Agree so quickly?"
Su Yunling said: "She must be an important NPC if she behaves like this. A quick response will help improve her favorability."
Wu Li smiled and said, "You are more straightforward than the person I just met."
As she spoke, she clenched her fist, raised it, and was about to smash it on the ground.
"Wait a minute, wait a minute!" Hearing her words, Su Yunling hurriedly stopped her.
Wu Li really stopped and asked, "What's wrong?"
"What do the people you just met look like? Where did they go?" Su Yunling asked.
"I just remember one of them had white hair and red eyes. They should have gone to the 23rd floor." Wu Li said with a smile, "Why, do you know them?"
White hair and red eyes? Su Yunling thought about it, but couldn't think of anyone like that.
She was about to answer when Lilith said, "White hair and red eyes, it's obviously Ji Weihang... Jiang Zhan."
is that so?
Ji Weihang knew Jiang Zhan's identity from the first time they met, and Su Yunling didn't know her real appearance.
"How did you know?" Su Yunling asked Lilith subconsciously.
Lilith didn't answer, letting her deal with Wu Li first.
"...I know him. Can you take me to the 23rd floor?" Su Yunling looked at Wu Li sincerely. "What can I do for you in return?"
Wu Li thought for two seconds and said with a smile: "Then please tell Lin Xia on the first floor that I will find it soon."
A long-lost task list popped up in front of me:
[Game Mission: Help Wu Li convey the message to "First Floor·Lin Xia"]
[Task Reward: Loading...]
First floor? Lin Xia?
"etc……"
Wu Li didn't give her time to speak. He raised his fist and smashed it. The shattered space spread from the place where Wu Li smashed. Su Yunling lost her fulcrum and fell into the endless darkness.
Unpredictable scenes flashed before her eyes, and the overly complex amount of information and images made her dizzy.
She lost consciousness and fell asleep.
When she woke up again, she found herself sitting in the driver's seat of a car.
The front, back, left and right sides of the car were crowded with vehicles, each with people sitting in it.
A highway jammed with traffic? What kind of apocalypse is this?
After a moment of confusion, she opened the task list that had changed.
[Game Mission: Help Wu Li convey the message to "First Floor·Lin Xia"]
[Task Reward: Deliver the building blocks to the 23rd floor (already paid in advance)]
There should be a twenty-second floor between the twenty-third floor and the first floor, right?
How could she pass the message from the 23rd floor to a guy named Lin Xia on the 1st floor?
It might be faster for Wu Li to go by himself.
“Ding Di——”
A shrill and loud horn sounded from somewhere behind, breaking the silent air that was brewing with restlessness, and immediately triggered a burst of shrill horn sounds one after another.
Su Yunling covered her ears and looked at the seemingly endless convoy in front of her. She suddenly regretted why she came to find Ji Weihang.
Lilith laughed and said, "It's even worse than before. Now I'm tied up in the car."
Su Yunling rubbed her stomach and sighed.
