Chapter 77: The Plan Begins - I Don't Want to Participate in This Game
Xu Wenci lowered his head, slowly squatted down, and looked at Fu Yanli, who was covering his wound.
He clicked his tongue.
Fu Yanli, you're even more annoying than last time.
Fu Yanli took a deep breath and then laughed: "You didn't stab me deep enough."
Xu Wenci smiled, his face stained with blood on one side, and turned around.
Without the slightest hesitation, or even looking back.
The next second, just as he expected, Fu Yanli vomited mouthfuls of blood, and the sound of his gagging, which he deliberately suppressed, could be faintly heard.
A sharp police siren sounded outside.
Xu Wenci turned his head, stopped in his tracks, his smile vanished instantly, he raised an eyebrow slightly, took a deep breath, and his eyes instantly reddened.
"How are you? Why did you suddenly vomit blood..." He rushed over and pulled Fu Yanli into his arms, letting Fu Yanli's head rest on his thigh.
Because he was lying flat, the blood that Fu Yanli was about to spit out choked him, and Fu Yanli coughed until his eyes turned red.
"Why did you suddenly vomit blood..." Xu Wenci dutifully played the role of a panicked lover, wiping away tears, looking even more heartbroken than Fu Yanli, the one who was stabbed.
Unable to speak, Fu Yanli, while still somewhat conscious, winked at Xu Wenci.
Xu Wenci's eyelids twitched, wishing he could throw Fu Yanli out.
"Are you feeling unwell?" Xu Wenci's fingers trembled as she touched Fu Yanli's cheek, tears streaming down her face.
Fu Yanli squinted subconsciously, then coughed again, spitting blood onto Xu Wenci's already blood-stained hand.
Xu Wenci's hands trembled even more violently, and his amber eyes trembled slightly, whether he was pretending or truly afraid was unknown.
“Fu Yanli, say something! Are you in pain? Do you want to die?” Xu Wenci touched Fu Yanli’s cheek again, his eyes filled with complex emotions, but his tone was very gentle, “Tell me, what do you want to do? I’ll help you…”
"Go to hell."
The calm and indifferent voice in front of me instantly overlapped with the trembling but fierce voice in my memory.
Fu Yanli blinked.
He tried to speak, but then spat out a mouthful of blood.
How could a single stab wound possibly draw so much blood...?
Is he really going to die...?
Fu Yanli thought.
He hasn't fully apologized to Xu Wenci yet.
"Baby, you've vomited so much blood, you must be feeling terrible..." Xu Wenci suddenly raised her voice, her tone trembling with tears, "What should I do..."
The applause interrupted their act.
Xu Wenci squinted as he sized up Fu Rongzhen, who had suddenly arrived.
He knew that Fu Rongzhen would arrive here the moment he killed Fu Yanli, and he absolutely would not allow a situation like last time to happen.
"Resurrected from the dead..." Fu Rongzhen smiled, but her smile carried a ruthless edge. "I'd like to see just how great the protagonist's halo really is..."
Xu Wenci held Fu Yanli in his arms and slowly raised his blood-stained face. His skin was fair, so the bloodstains on his face were particularly glaring. One drop of blood happened to fall right under his eye, making it look like he had a blood mole.
He smiled at Fu Rongzhen.
The plan succeeded.
Fu Rongzhen smiled at him, but the joy in her smile froze on her face the next moment.
It was the sound of a dagger being pulled from a heart.
Fu Rongzhen's ears twitched, his mind went blank, and then an explosive sound roared in his mind, causing his eyelids to twitch wildly.
Why……
Why did Xu Wenci kill Fu Yanli...?
Wasn't it supposed to be interesting to see how Fu Yanli came back to life?
Isn't the goal to give him the protagonist's halo?
Why……
Fu Yanli slowly closed his eyes.
“At the end of the story, I killed him, and he will not come back to life.” Xu Wenci picked up his sleeve, wiped the blood off his face, and threw the dagger hard on the ground.
With a loud clang.
Xu Wenci slowly walked towards Fu Rongzhen.
"What makes you think I would hand over Fu Yanli's protagonist status so easily..." Xu Wenci tilted his head and pointed his chin out the window.
Confused, Fu Rongzhen looked in the direction Xu Wenci pointed. Her pupils contracted instantly, as if she had seen something terrifying. She involuntarily took a step back, but quickly regained her senses and glared fiercely at Xu Wenci.
The face outside the window flashed by, it was blurry, but he would never forget it.
In this world, no one can compare to the protagonist.
Therefore, when the protagonist's halo becomes a tradable commodity, everyone will rush to compete for it and fight each other.
Xu Wenci burst into laughter.
"Don't worry, you'll definitely get some good news."
Fu Yanli is dead.
This is good news.
Xu Wenci couldn't help but smile.
The figure outside the window has disappeared.
Fu Rongzhen raised an eyebrow, her heart, which had been in her throat, calmed down slightly. She sighed, narrowed her eyes, and after a couple of seconds, clapped her hands: "Indeed, Fu Yanli is missing... But... you don't think this matter is over just like that, do you..."
Xu Wenci turned around, but Fu Yanli's body had already disappeared.
However, he wasn't actually curious about it.
Because he had already seen it in the previous world.
"It seems no one expected me to show up..." Fu Yanli's uncle forced a smile. "However, I really don't have much of a presence in the Fu family. But I do care about my nephew. I just don't know if he's mentioned me to you..."
Xu Wenci: "Heh. If you all had any tricks up your sleeves, how could you possibly have any name in this world..."
These highly provocative words made Fu Yanli's uncle grit his teeth. "What do you mean?"
With a calm expression, Fu Rongzhen stopped her troublesome older brother, interrupting him and declaring war on Xu Wenci: "Why don't you guess how long it will take for the news of Fu Yanli's death to make the news..."
"One hour later." Xu Wenci raised his hand, glanced at the watch face splattered with a drop of blood, and answered calmly.
Fu Yanli looked at Xu Wenci's other hand hidden behind his back and curled his lips into a smile. That hand seemed to be trembling.
This person... actually killed Fu Yanli...
I'm still too soft-hearted...
Otherwise, why would the plan have been delayed for so long...?
"What a coincidence, my older brother just happens to know how to steal the protagonist's halo," Fu Rongzhen said, her gloomy gaze fixed on Xu Wenci. She tilted her head and twisted her neck, but her words came out very softly, "An hour should be more than enough to deal with you."
"Who dares to touch him!"
When Grandpa Fu's powerful voice reached Fu Rongzhen's ears, she couldn't help but show an impatient expression.
He frowned: Was it just my imagination?
"Dad..." Fu Yanli's eldest uncle greeted him first, only to be met with a crisp slap.
His head was knocked to the side, but he didn't dare to breathe.
Fu Rongzhen, instead, raised her head and scoffed, "Dad, don't get so angry. You should know that only the protagonist's halo can save the crumbling Fu family. Since Fu Yanli can do it, then so can I..."
Grandpa Fu was so angry that he couldn't speak, pointing at Fu Rongzhen.
Fu Rongzhen pressed her advantage: "Dad, I've always longed for your approval since I was little, but you never relinquished power or acknowledged me. In the end, you handed the company over to a greenhorn. It turns out you were coerced and bribed by the Ye family..."
He sighed, his voice heavy: "How...how can I trust your judgment again..."
The slap that Old Master Fu raised high finally landed on Fu Rongzhen's face.
Silence fell.
Fu Rongzhen covered her face, rubbed her cheeks, and looked out the window.
As he sighed, Old Master Fu turned his head away from Fu Rongzhen. When his eyes met those of his uncle, Fu Yanli, his sigh became even louder.
Xu Wenci broke the deadlock with a sneer:
"Protagonist halo... You only know about the protagonist halo, but don't you know anything about anything else?"
Everyone present was stunned.
Xu Wenci licked his lips: "Why don't you all think about why Fu Yanli tried every means to get rid of the Fu family, why he was unwilling to save the Fu family from collapse, and why he would rather die than live happily..."
Grandpa Fu, leaning on his cane, couldn't help but stomp on it, looking angry.
"His life was all planned out. If a person's life is all planned out, is he still living his own life?"
Xu Wenci didn't expect others to understand; he just wanted to stall for time.
Fu Rongzhen's uncle tilted his head, frowning in confusion.
“Fu Yanli doesn’t want to participate in this game,” Xu Wenci said. “Neither do I…”
He smiled and pulled out a folding fruit knife.
"Stop him, stop him..." Fu Rongzhen's eyes were bloodshot.
Grandpa Fu slammed his cane on the ground and shouted, "Are you blind?"
There's also Fu Rongzhen's uncle, who's always causing trouble.
The scene was complete chaos...
But it was too late.
Xu Wenci plunged the knife into his heart.
My heart feels so cold.
I feel so cold.
It felt like blood was flowing down his fingers; it was sticky and a little warm.
It has a rusty smell.
He had smelled the rusty smell countless times in his dreams before.
His somewhat unfocused eyes glanced at the dagger not far away, and he chuckled softly.
He wouldn't use the same knife he used to stab Fu Yanli to stab himself.
Fu Yanli, my plan is about to begin.
Your plans will proceed smoothly.
A flash of white light...
My heart trembled slightly and beat like a drum.
Closely attached to his heart was another heart that was equally warm and healthy.
“Baby…” Someone nestled in his arms, gently rubbing his shoulder and neck with their soft hair.
Her hair was still as soft as the downy feathers of a newly hatched chick.
Fu Yanli...
Fu Yanli?!
Wait... it seems like the two of them are lying in the same bed?
sleep?
sleep? !
"What are you doing?" Xu Wenci immediately got up, not having time to feel sad, and grabbed his coat to rush out.
"Baby, why are you running..." Fu Yanli hugged him from behind, his sticky, nasal voice close to his ear, his breath raising goosebumps on one side of his face.
Xu Wenci shuddered, struggled free, turned around, and pushed Fu Yanli away again, shoving him into the blankets before getting out of bed with peace of mind.
"Fu Yanli, what's wrong with you..." Xu Wenci frowned, and only then did he take a look around at everything.
Isn't this their room from the last world?
ah!
Didn't he stab himself to death?
“Baby…” Fu Yanli held his big head in his hands, looking aggrieved, as if he wanted to snuggle into Xu Wenci’s arms for comfort.
Xu Wenci's brows furrowed even deeper. How did he end up back in the previous world...?
Now that he has returned to the previous world... what about Fu Yanli?
He shoved Fu Yanli's big head away and impatiently told Fu Yanli to get dressed.
Fu Yanli pouted, but still nodded cooperatively, turned his back, and curled himself into a circle like a humiliated little fat snake, going about his own business.
“I have nothing to do with you,” Xu Wenci said expressionlessly. “In this world, I really have nothing to do with you. You can think of it as me having amnesia.”
Fu Yanli: ? ? ?
What should I do if my partner suddenly suffers a brain injury?
He was about to reach out and touch Xu Wenci's forehead when Xu Wenci slapped his hand away.
"Don't touch me." Xu Wenci remained expressionless.
"Are you sick?" Fu Yanli seemed not to hear him and insisted on his own opinion.
After his hand, which had been trying to touch Xu Wenci's forehead, was slapped away by Xu Wenci for the eighth time, he sighed, sat on the edge of the bed, and sulked.
"Fu Yanli, if you keep pretending, I think you want to get stabbed again."
Fu Yanli immediately turned his head, a fawning smile on his face: "No, no, please."
Xu Wenci smiled: "Every time you die... this doesn't happen every time, does it...?"
If that's the case, then it's really necessary to make another cut.
Fu Yanli tacitly agreed.
Xu Wenci turned and left.
Anyway, neither he nor Fu Yanli owed each other anything.
Author's Note: Before I even start writing, I can't help but think back to the pacing and transitions. Every time I do, I lose the motivation to write and feel like my writing is terrible. But as soon as I start writing a little, I realize it's not actually that bad. [Pity]
This mindset means that every time I revise my writing, I'm consciously working on the transitions, but I just can't seem to get into the flow. [Heartbroken]
Speaking of animal sculptures, the first one I sculpted was Xu Wenci. The idea that Xu Wenci resembled a dinosaur came to me naturally from Fu Yanli's perspective when I was designing a cliché love story. I didn't actually study how much it resembled the dinosaur; I just thought that since Fu Yanli thought so, then so be it.
Actually, I initially wanted to portray Fu Yanli as a small dog and a snake, but then I thought that from Xu Wenci's perspective, he was a venomous snake from the beginning, and even if things changed later, the initial impression would not be forgotten.
Regarding the recently popular animal shaping quiz, I still haven't had time to complete it or organize the answers. I'll definitely write it down when I finish the main text and write the side story. [Heart emoji]
