Chapter 2 Ancestral Graves Emitting Green Smoke (2/2)

Thinking of what had just happened, Elder Yan felt as if his Dragon Ancestor was a beautiful flower stuck in cow dung!

Before leaving, he sternly warned, "Some people shouldn't be foolish enough to seek their own death. My Dragon Ancestor is not someone that mere humans are worthy of!"

It's obvious that it's impossible for Tianning to form a contract with the man who appeared on the Dragon-Guiding Stone!

As Elder Yan's aura disappeared, the First Elder looked at Tian Ning with a complicated expression. He never expected things to develop to this point.

"Sixth Miss, you should go back first. I will report this matter to the head of the family for discussion, but you must not reveal what happened today to anyone. Not even someone from the Wen family."

Tian Ning hummed in agreement.

She didn't have any feelings for the Dragon Ancestor, but she quite liked Elder Yan.

It's a pity that Charmander doesn't like her.

Once Tianning returned to his courtyard, he immediately began reading a storybook, becoming engrossed in its melodramatic tales, completely oblivious to the upheavals happening outside.

When she got sleepy, she would hug the fluffy little white cat and fall asleep until the next morning when a maid knocked on the door and came in to deliver something.

"Sixth Miss, these are things that Fourth Young Master instructed me to bring to you. He said that Madam and Fifth Miss will return to the manor in an hour, and he wants you to get ready to welcome them." As the maid spoke, a group of people carrying several large boxes entered the courtyard.

Tianning, still half asleep, ignored the maid.

She stayed up late reading storybooks last night, so she's very sleepy now. She turns over and continues to sleep.

When Tianning woke up naturally, it was almost noon. She was woken up by hunger.

She gave Xiaobai and Qiuqiu fish and spirit rice, and then took out the scallion pancakes that the old man had made for her from the mustard seed bag to fill her stomach. After she finished eating, she started tidying up the room and opened the large box she had brought from home.

If Steward Xu were here, he would be greatly surprised.

The box was filled with all sorts of random things, all in miniature: pots and pans, beds, tables and chairs, storybooks, decorative items... even the stone mill used to grind beans in front of Tianning's house was crammed in!

Worried that his daughter wouldn't sleep well in a different environment, the old man practically moved the entire house to Tianning!

Tianning took out some ornaments, and the miniature items gradually grew larger as soon as they left the box, returning to their original size.

This box is a magical artifact; anything stuffed inside can shrink, allowing it to hold an endless amount of things. However, there's a drawback… the weight doesn't decrease even when things shrink. The box is filled with the weight of an entire room, which is why Tianning said Steward Xu couldn't lift it.

Tianning transformed the room into her room in the mortal realm.

Looking around at the familiar surroundings, she cheerfully picked up a new storybook and continued to immerse herself in the interesting tales.

As for the several large boxes of things in the yard, she didn't even look at them.

Time passed, and as noon approached, another maid came in to urge her: "Sixth Miss, why are you still lingering in your room? Madam, Fifth Miss, Fourth Young Master, and the Dragon Prince are waiting for you to have your meal."

Tianning was currently reading the heart-wrenching climax of the story, struggling to close the book, intending to finish eating quickly and come back to read it.

"Okay, let's go."

The maidservant did not move, her gaze fixed on the patched green-pink dress she wore: "It is improper for you to go to see the madam like this."

As she spoke, she instructed the other maids to open the several large boxes in the courtyard, which contained many clothes and jewelry of such high value that ordinary families could not even dream of: "The Fourth Young Master said that you have suffered hardship for the past ten years, and now that you have returned to the family line, you must not disgrace the Wen family. The Wen family will not be stingy with these common things; please feel free to choose whatever you need from here."

Tianning originally didn't intend to pay attention to this talkative maid, but after the several large boxes were opened, they were filled with the smell of having been used.

Now, Tianning had no choice but to postpone reading the storybook.

"You're saying all of these things are for me?"

"Yes. Please go back to your room and tidy yourself up."

Tianning went back inside, but didn't take anything with her.

This displeased the maid. This was a level of wealth and status that others would covet, so what was the Sixth Miss up to now? Not greeting the Madam and the Fifth Miss this morning was already impolite, and the Madam hadn't even scolded her. Now she was still dragging her feet…

When Tianning came out of the house again, there was a sparrow above her head.

"Sixth Miss, what are you thinking? It's almost lunchtime, how can you keep Madam and Fifth Miss waiting for you?"

Tianning didn't even look at the maid: "Chirp chirp, burn all these eyesores away."

She pointed to each one, and before the maids could react, the sparrows, which were not much bigger than fruit, fluttered their wings and flew to the top of the box, spitting out small flames from their beaks.

The flames looked like they could be extinguished by a gust of wind, but the moment they touched the box, it was as if a dam had been opened, and a raging fire instantly broke out in the yard!

"Ahhh—the fire's on!"

"Quickly, put out the fire!"

The maids were in a panic. Tianning pulled a docile maid who was standing there dumbfounded and almost burned by the sparks and asked, "Where are we going to eat? Take me there."

"Sixth Miss...this fire..."

The maid was flustered and at a loss. She didn't understand how the sixth young lady could still calmly ask where to eat at a time like this.

"Aren't they the ones busy doing nothing here?"

Tianning took out some spirit rice as a reward. She patted Qiuqiu's head and instructed, "Remember to put the fire back in when it's burned clean."

The sparrow raised its head and chirped in response.

The little maid inexplicably felt that she saw pride in a sparrow, and a look of seeking praise.

Amidst the flames, many servants rushed to the courtyard with buckets of water to fight the fire. Only two figures walked against the light, but no matter how much water they poured in, the fire showed no signs of abating.

When the young maid led the others into the kitchen, her voice trembled: "Madam...Sixth Miss has arrived..."
