Chapter 1 Time Travel

Deep winter in the Kingdom of Cangyue.

Snowflakes were falling heavily, and the biting wind was howling; this winter was exceptionally long.

A golden ray of light pierced the sky and disappeared into the woodshed of the Ji family mansion.

Moonlight streamed through the window, illuminating the pristine white snow. Ji Jiuying frowned slightly; her thin clothes offered little protection against the biting cold, and she involuntarily curled up into a ball.

"Ugh...it hurts, and it's so cold!"

She slowly opened her eyes, her whole body aching and numb, her hand dislocated, feeling like she'd been ganged up on! Who was so awful to dare beat me up like this!

Ji Jiuying endured the pain to put her dislocated hand back in place, slowly sat up and straightened her clothes. She was surprised to find that she was wearing ancient costume. Who the hell was playing this prank?

"My God, what's going on?"

Is that wrong? Is that wrong?

She clearly remembered staying up all night studying medical books...

In her panic, a splitting headache and a wave of dizziness washed over her as fragments of memories that were not hers flooded her mind.

Holy crap!! I've transmigrated, and it's a soul transmigration at that. I've transmigrated to a country that's not recorded in history—the Azure Moon Kingdom.

The Cangming Continent has three countries: Cangyue, Jialan, and Xijin.

The entire continent is dominated by cultivating spiritual power. Anyone with a spiritual root can cultivate. When the descendants of each family reach a certain age, they must be tested for their spiritual roots, which are composed of one, two, three, four, or five spiritual roots, respectively, consisting of the five elements: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth.

Similarly, spiritual energy cultivation is also divided into levels: Spirit Practitioner, Spirit Master, Great Spirit Master, Spirit General, Spirit King, Spirit Saint, and Spirit Venerable.

Each cultivation level is divided into nine stars.

Anyone who possesses one of these spiritual roots can begin cultivation; possessing both is the mark of a genius.

If you possess all three, you are a genius among geniuses.

If someone possesses all four, they would be an absolute genius who would shake the entire Cangming Continent!

As for the Five Elemental Roots, they are extremely rare even in the Cangyue Kingdom and the entire Cangming Continent.

The strong are respected by countless people on this continent, while the weak are forever less than ants.

Unfortunately, Ji Jiuying is nothing but a useless person with no spiritual roots.

From unfamiliar memories, she learned that the original owner of this body shared the same name as her, Ji Jiuying, and was the legitimate daughter of the powerful general Ji Chenyuan. The emperor was wary of Ji Jiuying's father, Ji Chenyuan, who held military power and needed him to lead troops into battle. In order to ensure that Ji Chenyuan would not have any disloyal intentions, the emperor immediately issued an edict after learning that Ji Jiuying was born as a daughter, arranging for Ji Jiuying to be engaged to the third prince born to Consort Liang.

However, Ji Jiuying's mother died after giving birth to Jiuying. Later, when she was five years old, she was not well-liked because she had no spiritual root when her spiritual power was tested. From then on, she lived worse than a servant. In Cangyue Kingdom, everyone knew that the eldest daughter of General Weizhen was a famous good-for-nothing, a useless person without any spiritual power!

Because of his grandmother's influence, he took another concubine, Aunt Zhou. This Aunt Zhou was quite shrewd; she became pregnant less than half a year after entering the household and later gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl. She was then elevated to the status of a secondary wife, and her position in the household only increased.

The current emperor, Jun Bufan, has five princes and two princesses. The eldest prince died young, and he has not yet been named crown prince.

The emperor didn't know what was wrong with him. Even though he knew Ji Jiuying was a good-for-nothing, he didn't break off the engagement. The original owner of this body suffered countless beatings because of this!

As for the Third Prince, with whom she was engaged, she had met him a few times, but Ji Jiuying was self-aware enough to know that she was not good enough for him.

The Third Prince always looked at her with disdain, but now he is getting very close to her half-sister, Ji Fengyan.

However, Jiu Ying wasn't too bothered by her time travel; she figured she might as well make the best of it.

A sudden warmth touched her finger, and when Ji Jiuying looked down, a ring had appeared out of thin air on her finger! Jiuying was overjoyed!

"Huh~ My beloved Pure Heart Glass Ring came along too."

The ring was something Jiu Ying bought at an antique shop when she visited the capital. She never expected it to come with her and travel through time. But why is this ring a little different from before? The ring on her finger was emitting a red light. She reached out and touched it, but heard a "whoosh." It was as if the ring had grown needles, piercing her finger and sucking her blood. Suddenly, a space appeared in her mind!

"Cloud Butterfly Dreamland, successfully recognized as its master." So that's what it's called.

Ji Jiuying checked it out and found it was actually her medicine storehouse! How interesting! In her previous life, Ji Jiuying loved reading medical books and researching medical techniques, so she specially built a two-story villa for her research. The first floor was a pharmacy, the second floor was filled with medical books, and the garden was used to grow various medicinal herbs.

Jiu Ying silently thought of painkillers, wondering if she could take them out.

The next second, it appeared in her hand. What a surprise! This was definitely a cheat code.

Ji Jiuying re-examined the wound, picked up the medicine and swallowed it with her saliva. Instantly, she felt much better, at least the pain was not so bad.

Suddenly, Ji Jiuying discovered that the only two spirit stones she possessed were being absorbed by the Cloud Butterfly Dream. Puzzled, she followed the spiritual energy to her herb garden and saw a Ganoderma lucidum absorbing the energy; she had planted this Ganoderma lucidum just a few days prior. Ji Jiuying's eyes widened as the Ganoderma lucidum rapidly grew into a hundred-year-old one right before her eyes, and even the Ganoderma lucidum beside it grew rapidly.

"Am I dreaming?" Ji Jiuying pinched her thigh. It wasn't a dream.

She's struck it rich! With this space by her side, her survival in ancient times is now guaranteed.

Useless trash? Incompetent fool? Screw you! Once I recover, I'll make those who bullied me pay with their blood.

From the original owner's memories, it was learned that the original owner was beaten and locked in the woodshed because she stole her half-sister Ji Fengyan's red bean soup because she was greedy. Ji Jiuying knew in her heart that this was just an excuse from Ji Fengyan. The biggest reason was that the original owner occupied the position of the Third Imperial Concubine.

Suddenly, a series of faint footsteps approached from afar. As a top pharmacist from an ancient martial arts family in the 21st century, Ji Jiuying narrowed her eyes warily.

"Miss? Miss? Are you inside?"

The maid asked anxiously, but dared not raise her voice too much to attract the attention of others.

"Light and agile?" Jiu Ying asked hesitantly.

"It's me, Miss. How are you? I'll open the door right away. Don't worry or be afraid." Qingling gently comforted Ji Jiuying while carefully moving the wooden block blocking the door.

According to the original owner's memories, Qingling was rescued by the original owner on the street when she was a child. At that time, she saw her being beaten by a group of people. Ji Jiuying couldn't bear it and bought her. Qingling vowed to repay Ji Jiuying for the rest of her life. Even after she learned that Jiuying was a legendary good-for-nothing, she did not have any regrets or wavering.

"Miss, why did the Second Miss hit so hard!" Qingling looked at Jiuying's injuries and tears streamed down her face. She quickly put the cloak on Jiuying.

"I'm fine."

“Let’s go back!” Jiu Ying said.

Lightly supporting Jiu Ying, the lanterns flickered in and out of the wind.

A moment later, Ji Jiuying arrived at the original owner's secluded courtyard and was dumbfounded.

He stepped inside, his eyes widening in astonishment as he stared at the courtyard marked "Pear Garden".
