In the pitch-black cave, Gu Qingfeng was awakened by the pain from the wound on his back. He took out a luminous pearl from his spatial ring to illuminate the area, but unexpectedly, countless dark shadows rushed towards him. Gu Qingfeng was startled and, ignoring the pain, quickly put the luminous pearl away. He knew that they must have stumbled into the cave of some kind of spirit beast that was afraid of light.
In the instant the light appeared, he memorized Wen Longting's location and wanted to go there, but the injury on his leg prevented him from standing. Looking at Wen Longting, Gu Qingfeng saw a resemblance between her features and Wuyou's. His gaze became distant; Wuyou had once lay in his arms in this very way, never to wake again…

"So cold, so cold..." Wen Longting became a little more awake.
"Xiaoting, hang in there, they'll be here soon!"
He didn't actually know when they would arrive, so he could only comfort her for now.
Wen Longting then realized that she was in Gu Qingfeng's arms, but she couldn't care less at that moment; all she knew was that she was freezing to death.
"Gu Qingfeng, I...I'm so sorry, if it weren't for me, you wouldn't have fallen!" Wen Longting said, her lips trembling.
She accidentally lost her footing and instinctively grabbed the person next to her, causing her and Gu Qingfeng to fall together.
"Even if you don't grab me, I will instinctively pull you back. Things happen too fast, but the end result is the same."
The person in his arms remained silent. Gu Qingfeng's mind went blank, his heart ached, and he called out desperately, "Xiao Ting?"
He was met with the sound of soft breathing.

"Gu Qingfeng!" Ji Jiuying slowly steadied herself and responded. Just as she was about to take out the luminous pearl, Gu Qingfeng stopped her. "Little Jiuying, please don't take out the luminous pearl. There is something in this cave that will attack any place with light."
Upon hearing this, the group had no choice but to use their spiritual power to probe the way. Judging from the sound, Gu Qingfeng should be about ten meters away from them.
"Where is Xiaoting?" Wen Chuyu asked anxiously.

Upon hearing this, Yingyue cast a spell with one hand, and an invisible barrier enveloped them all. Wen Chuyu, worried that the light was still insufficient, took out several luminous pearls at the same time. The moment the luminous pearls were released, countless dark shadows in the cave squeaked and tried to rush towards Wen Chuyu, but they were blocked by the invisible barrier.
The group then recognized the dark figures as sea bats. Sea bats do not attack people unless provoked, but while they fear light, they will also attack it.
Thousands upon thousands of sea bats swarmed outside the barrier, creating a terrifying sight.
Ji Jiuying didn't care about anything else and tossed some pills to Gu Qingfeng, saying, "Eat these."
Gu Qingfeng took the pill but did not rush to eat it. It was not that he did not trust her, but that the pill he had just eaten was also made by her.

*Pfft!* A mouthful of black blood spurted from Wen Longting's mouth. Before Wen Chuyu could even put down the luminous pearl in his hand, someone else arrived at Wen Longting's side first and wiped the blood from her mouth with their hand.
Ji Jiuying glanced at Gu Qingfeng, her eyes flickered slightly, and then slowly pulled out the silver needles from her body. As the last silver needle was pulled out, another mouthful of black blood gushed from the corner of Wen Longting's mouth.
"Ting'er!" Whether intentionally or unintentionally, Wen Chuyu bumped past Gu Qingfeng and picked up Wen Longting.
