Shu Mowan felt a little uncomfortable as he stared at her intense gaze and looked away.
"Brother Si, do you really enjoy meddling in my affairs?"
She said, half-jokingly.
"Um."
Si Tingyu nodded, "I want to get involved in everything you do."
"Aren't you afraid that if you interfere too much, it will cause me to develop a rebellious attitude?"
Shu Mowan raised an eyebrow and asked.
"No, because I will only get involved in things that would harm you."
Si Tingyu explained, "I will not restrict your freedom."
He paused, then added, "Wanwan, I want you to know that I'm here to protect you, and no one can hurt you."
He wouldn't even touch his little girl, so why should anyone else?
Shu Mowan's heartstrings were gently plucked once again.
After being strong for so many years, she suddenly realized that the feeling of being unconditionally protected seemed pretty good.
"Since Brother Si wants to get involved in Shu Xueyin's illegal activities, then let him do so."
She looked at Si Tingyu, "But please don't use your power to release her without charge in the end."
"Wanwan, why are you worried that I'll let her go?"
Si Tingyu gently pinched her nose. "You should tell my lawyer not to argue for her to be sentenced to life imprisonment, otherwise she'll be all gray-haired by the time she gets out."
Shu Mowan was amused.
She laughed, and he laughed along with her.
"Wanwan, you should rest. I'll go get a lawyer."
Si Tingyu said, "Once everything is arranged, I'm looking forward to celebrating my birthday with you."
Shu Mowan nodded.
Si Tingyu got into the car and left the Shu family's gate, where he ran into Shu Lingyi and Shu Lingyin who were returning.
"Tingyu, what are you doing here?"
Shu Lingyin said with some wariness.
"Wanwan has gotten into such a big mess, what do you think I'm here for?"
Si Tingyu chuckled and asked in return.
Shu Lingyin frowned. "Our family will handle this. You don't need to worry about it."
He was worried that if Si Tingyu interfered, he would have a chance to spend time alone with his sister.
Si Tingyu curled his lips into a smile, deliberately showing off: "Ling Yin, what should we do? Wanwan is entirely in my hands."
The next second, he saw Shu Lingyin angrily say, "What? You're handling Wanwan?"
"You're just an outsider, what right do you have to bypass us?"
His face turned red with anger.
"Ling Yin, that's a harsh way to put it. I will be Wanwan's man from now on."
Si Tingyu emphasized.
Shu Lingyin really wanted him to get lost; her sister would never date a man.
"Tingyu, did my sister really entrust Shu Xueyin's matter to you?"
Shu Lingyi was noticeably calmer.
He could tell that his younger sister was becoming less and less resistant to Si Tingyu, so no matter how much he, as the older brother, tried to stop her, it would be useless.
However, he found Si Tingyu increasingly displeasing.
How could Si Tingyu do such a thing to his younger sister who is so young?
"Um."
Si Tingyu nodded: "If you don't believe me, you can go back and ask Wanwan."
"No need, I trust you."
Shu Lingyi said, "Are you going to see Shu Xueyin now? We'll go with you."
Si Tingyu knew it was impossible for the five Shu brothers to stay out of this matter, so he agreed when Shu Lingyi said so.
They took their legal team directly to see Shu Xueyin.
Seeing such a large commotion, Shu Xueyin shrank back in fright.
"Big brother, second brother, Brother Si, I know I was wrong. I shouldn't have been so blinded by greed and attacked my sister. Can you forgive me this time for the sake of our long-standing friendship?"
She was smart enough to know that denying it was pointless, so she simply admitted it and apologized, hoping to have a chance to be released.
The three remained unmoved by her pitiful appearance.
"Xueyin, you said that because we've known each other for so many years, did you ever think about us when you attacked my sister?"
Shu Lingyi tapped her fingers lightly on the table and calmly asked a question.
"..."
Shu Xueyin remained silent for a moment.
After a long pause, she said hesitantly, "Brother, I have thought about it."
"You must have thought about how heartbroken and angry we were when we saw our sister injured, and how smug you were behind our backs, right?"
Shu Lingyin removed the bottom.
Shu Xueyin's expression changed after her thoughts were exposed.
She clenched her fists tightly, the veins on the back of her hands bulging, and it took her a long time to find her voice: "Big brother, second brother, I was just angry that your attention was all on sister, which led me astray."
"So we're wrong to let you live a life of luxury, is that it?"
Shu Lingyin sneered, "You raised her, yet she was able to grow up in the Shu family since she was little, while my sister, as our biological daughter, could only wander outside. She finally found her way back, and instead of feeling sorry for us, you're jealous that she gets more attention from us. Have you lost your conscience?"
"If it were a dog, receiving so much love from the Shu family, it would have developed empathy for Wanwan. But you, you don't feel any pity for her at all and are even jealous of my sister. It's laughable."
He mocked, "As expected, it's someone else's offspring; no matter how you raise it, you can't tame it."
Shu Xueyin's eyes immediately turned red; she was furious.
"Second brother, what right do you have to talk about my family? If my grandmother hadn't been trying to save your grandmother, would she have died?"
She gritted her teeth and said.
"Then go find her to repay the debt of saving your life. What does it have to do with us?"
Shu Lingyin retorted, "And besides, if this weren't possible, do you think you could live in the Shu family and have everyone respectfully call you Miss Shu?"
Shu Xueyin's family was just a small, insignificant household.
"He really has the backing of the Shu family and enjoys all the riches and honors, yet he's still here resentful, as if he's suffered some great injustice."
He was wronged.
Shu Xueyin bit her lip tightly, but didn't utter a single word of rebuttal.
