Chapter 144 Do I have a place in your heart now?

"Don't worry, Mr. Ji, I just want him to have some peace and quiet for a day or two."

Shu Mowan said, "He is, after all, your only grandson, so I should still give him face."

Upon hearing this, Old Master Ji felt extremely embarrassed.

He could easily tell that Shu Mowan was subtly mocking him for spoiling his grandson so irrationally.

"Shumo, that brat is infuriating. I'm going to go up and teach him a lesson."

The old man made an excuse and left.

Staying here would only make me feel ashamed.

After Old Master Ji left, Chairman Zhang sighed softly, "The old man is good in every way, but he spoils his grandson too much. Otherwise, Ji Li wouldn't have been raised to be ignorant about painting, yet still think he's very capable."

Others are simply stupid but aware of their own limitations, while Ji Li was overly arrogant due to excessive praise, often making fools of himself and causing the Ji family to lose face.

Shu Mowan glanced at him and said, "Uncle Zhang shouldn't have agreed to let such a terrible work be included in the art exhibition."

"Well, I had no choice. The old man was the previous president, and he called me to tell me. I couldn't refuse."

Chairman Zhang also faced a difficult situation. "I originally wanted to put Ji Li's work in a corner so that it wouldn't offend the old man or offend too many people's eyes."

Shu Mowan didn't say anything more.

"Wanwan, didn't you say you brought a friend?"

Chairman Zhang looked around and changed the subject.

Shu Mowan said, "He has some business at his company and is on the phone dealing with it."

After she finished speaking, she saw Si Tingyu walk through the crowd towards her. She smiled and said, "Uncle Zhang, he's here."

Chairman Zhang followed her gaze and looked up at Si Tingyu. After a moment's thought, he recognized him as the heir to the Si Group.

"Wanwan, is this President Si?"

He asked in a low voice.

Shu Mowan nodded.

"I heard he didn't break off the engagement with you on his own initiative?"

Chairman Zhang has quite a wide network of connections. "You brought him here, so the engagement has been renewed?"

"Not yet, but I'm pursuing her, and I believe she'll soon agree to be my fiancée."

Si Tingyu answered on behalf of Shu Mowan.

Chairman Zhang was somewhat embarrassed when the person involved overheard him gossiping.

"President Si, it's been a long time. It's been almost two years since I last saw you at the last banquet."

Chairman Zhang extended his hand to Si Tingyu and said politely.

"Uncle Zhang, just call me Tingyu."

Si Tingyu shook hands with him, appearing much more enthusiastic.

Actively addressing each other as "kiss" helps to shorten the distance between them.

Seeing his polite demeanor, Chairman Zhang couldn't resist asking gossip, "Tingyu, since you're pursuing Wanwan, why did you break off your engagement with her in the first place?"

"I didn't know she was the girl I liked before. I impulsively broke off the arranged marriage, and when I finally met her, all I felt was regret."

Si Tingyu said, "I haven't managed to appease her yet, so I can only chase after her miserably."

Chairman Zhang patted his shoulder and said, "That's your fault."

“Wanwan is so outstanding, so many people would love to pursue her but can’t, yet you took the initiative to break off your engagement with her. The fact that she didn’t make you unable to get close to her is already a great favor to you.”

The president said sincerely.

Si Tingyu smiled, "That is indeed my honor."

After the two talked for a while, Chairman Zhang was called away by the staff.

"Wanwan, you show Tingyu around, I'll go entertain the guests."

Before leaving, Chairman Zhang said to Shu Mowan, "After this is over, don't forget to meet up with those old guys. Their plane will arrive in about two hours."

They were all away on business, but they flew back specifically for Shu Mowan.

Shu Mowan agreed.

"Wanwan, I heard that when I answered the phone, you were teaching a spoiled brat a lesson?"

Si Tingyu chatted casually.

Shu Mowan took him around for a while, "He said some bad things about traditional Chinese painting, so I gave him a lecture on it."

How many years have you been studying painting?

Si Tingyu was quite interested in how old Shu Mowan was when she started learning to paint.

Shu Mowan thought for a moment, "I never formally studied it. When I was little, I just saw that the scenery around my grandma's hometown was beautiful, so I would just draw on the ground. My grandma thought my drawings were pretty, so she bought drawing paper and colors for me to draw on for fun."

“My Wanwan is a naturally gifted painter.”

Si Tingyu raised his hand and patted Shu Mowan's head, his tone affectionate.

Shu Mowan glanced at him, but did not brush his hand away.

This is indulging his intimacy with her.

Si Tingyu wasn't stupid; he took advantage of the situation and pinched her earlobe again.

"Brother Si, that's enough."

Shu Mowan remained silent.

Touching his head is one thing, but pinching his earlobe is another. If he's so capable, why doesn't he just fly to the moon?

Si Tingyu naturally lowered his hand, casually pointing to a painting with the artist's name on it, "Xiao Hai?"

Do you know Wanwan?

He asked.

Shu Mowan shook her head. "He's probably a painter who's just started to achieve some success."

The paintings that make it into the exhibition are almost all by painters who are somewhat well-known, so the quality of the works is guaranteed.

Si Tingyu was just trying to change the subject; he had no real interest in Xiao Hai and continued walking forward.

After looking at the paintings of several people with little interest, he asked, "Does Wanwan have any paintings exhibited this time?"

If he had one, he could buy it and keep it as a collectible.

"No."

Shu Mowan said, "I came here just to sit with Uncle Zhang and the others."

It's been a long time since we got together, and I really miss it.

Si Tingyu's face showed a hint of regret, "That's a pity."

Shu Mowan asked, puzzled, "What's a pity?"

"I was unable to buy your painting and keep it as a collection."

Si Ting Yu Dao.

Shu Mowan's lips twitched slightly. "Brother Si, if you want it, you can ask me for it."
