Chapter 22 Master Si Goes to the Shu Family to Cancel the Childhood Betrothal

They've gone absolutely too far.

Even so, she could only jog to keep up.

She still wanted to spend more time with Si Tingyu.

She liked him, and she also liked the identity of the young mistress of the Si family. As long as she married into the Si family, she would no longer have to be careful and feel the humiliation of being dependent on the Shu family.

"Uncle Shu, Aunt Yun."

Si Tingyu entered the hall and politely greeted the Shu couple.

"Didn't you just get back from a business trip? Why are you in such a hurry to come to the Shu family's house?"

Shu Chuxiao put down the newspaper and smiled at Si Tingyu.

Aside from his reluctance to see his own daughter get engaged and married so early, he was extremely satisfied with Si Tingyu.

"I came to see you and Aunt Yun, and also to talk about the betrothal between our children."

Si Tingyu got straight to the point.

Shu Chuxiao's smile faded slightly, and his eyes became serious.

Yun Yun then ordered someone to brew some fresh tea for Si Tingyu.

Despite his young age, he enjoys drinking tea and spends a long time chatting and drinking tea with Shu Chuxiao every time he visits the Shu family.

Waiting for the servant to bring up the tea.

"Master Si, your tea."

The maid poured a cup of tea for Si Tingyu and said respectfully.

Si Tingyu nodded and waved for the servants to leave.

"Tingyu, speak."

Shu Chuxiao said.

He wanted to see what Si Tingyu thought of this arranged marriage.

Before Si Tingyu could speak, Shu Xueyin made a small movement out of nervousness.

Everyone turned to look at her.

"Dad, Mom, Big Brother, Brother Si, I'm sorry, my foot suddenly hurts a little."

Shu Xueyin had no choice but to make up an excuse.

"Should we call a doctor to take a look?"

Yunyun asked.

She couldn't appear too cold towards her adopted daughter.

Shu Xueyin shook her head, "Mom, it's no need, it's nothing."

Yunyun did not persist.

"Uncle Shu, Aunt Yun, I met a woman I'm attracted to during this business trip, so I came here to break off my childhood betrothal with Xue Ru."

Si Tingyu said frankly, "I haven't seen her for many years and we have no feelings for each other. Forcing a marriage between us is not good for anyone. But I can guarantee that I will treat her like my own sister in the future, and I will stand up for her if she has any problems."

This was the best promise he could give Yu Mowan.

Upon hearing this, Shu Chuxiao and Yun Yun were momentarily at a loss for words.

They admired Si Tingyu, but didn't want Yu Mowan to get engaged and married so early. However, when they heard him say that he had someone he liked and didn't want to be tied to Yu Mowan through a childhood betrothal, they felt a little unhappy.

Wanwan is so wonderful, she deserves to be cherished and valued.

"Tingyu, have you told Uncle Si about this?"

Suppressing the complex emotions in her heart, Yun Yun asked Si Tingyu.

"Not yet, I want to wait until it's resolved before I talk about it."

Si Tingyu shook his head.

Yun Yun understood; this was a plan to act first and inform later.

She pursed her lips. "Aren't you afraid your uncle might get so angry that he'll do something terrible?"

"If he knew I had someone I wanted to spend my life with, he would understand me."

Si Tingyu understood his grandfather; as long as he spoke frankly, the old man would understand that forcing things wouldn't work.

"My Wanwan is such a wonderful girl, don't you plan to meet her before considering breaking off the arranged marriage?"

Yun Yun didn't dwell on Elder Si, but instead shifted the focus to this topic.

Although she didn't want her Wanwan to get engaged and married so early, she admired Si Tingyu and didn't want him to give up so quickly, making Wanwan seem like she was terrible.

In short, her mood was similar to Shu Lingyi's at the beginning.

It's extremely complicated.
