Chapter 25: Showcasing her talents at the family reunion banquet, she silences her doubters.

Si Tingyu didn't come to his senses until Yu Mowan gracefully walked onto the stage.

"Mr. Si, what's wrong? Are you alright?"

One of the business partners stopped Si Tingyu and asked with concern.

He was perfectly fine just now, how come he suddenly looks like his soul has been stolen?

Si Tingyu snapped out of his daze and turned to look at his business partner, "President Li, is she the daughter the Shu family just recognized?"

"yes."

President Li said, "Chairman Shu said so on stage, and she looks so much like Mrs. Shu when she was young, there's no doubt about that, right?"

Si Tingyu was extremely annoyed.

How could he have concluded that the person wasn't the Shu family's daughter based on just one piece of information?

"Mr. Si, are you alright?"

Seeing Si Tingyu's frustration, President Li said with some concern.

Si Tingyu took a deep breath, suppressing his agitation: "It's alright."

"Let it go."

He said.

Mr. Li and the others followed him over.

"Everyone, this is my beloved daughter, Shu Mowan. Her former name, Xue Ru, will be used as her nickname."

As soon as I approached, I heard Shu Chuxiao say this.

Because Yu Mowan was used to using the name Mowan, she only changed her surname yesterday and was added to the family genealogy. Shu Xueru, on the other hand, did not need to use it.

Shu Mowan, Shu Mowan...

Si Tingyu murmured her name, his heart filled with joy.

She's beautiful, and even her name sounds lovely.

"She is new to the Shu family and not very familiar with Kyoto. I would be very grateful if you could take good care of her for me."

Shu Chuxiao continued.

The audience below echoed his sentiments.

"Then I thank everyone on her behalf."

Shu Chuxiao laughed heartily and even cupped his hands in a gesture of respect, as if imitating ancient etiquette.

This gesture naturally elicited good-natured smiles from the crowd.

The atmosphere was just right when Shu Mowan keenly noticed a gaze that was excessively fixed on her. She looked over and met Si Tingyu's eyes, and she was slightly stunned for two seconds.

She never expected to run into Si Tingyu here.

Compared to his previous disheveled and pale appearance, he now had an outstanding appearance and an imposing presence, clearly indicating that he came from a noble family.

Si Tingyu smiled at her.

Shu Mowan merely raised the corner of her mouth and then looked away.

Shu Chuxiao noticed the interaction between the two, leaned closer to Shu Mowan, and whispered, "Wanwan, have you met Tingyu?"

Since Si Tingyu had taken the initiative to bring up the matter of breaking off the arranged marriage, he didn't think that the two of them knew each other before, and simply assumed that they had met privately later.

We met once.

Shu Mowan

Upon hearing this, Shu Chuxiao looked at Si Tingyu again and felt that his smile was somewhat lewd.

Yes, it's ripples.

Is he laughing like that because he's going to back out and cancel the arranged marriage?

But didn't he say he had someone he liked?

Shu Chuxiao was full of suspicion. He said a few polite words to the audience and was about to take Yu Mowan down when someone called out to him.

"Chairman Shu, I've heard that Miss Shu is very skilled at playing the piano and dancing. Could you please have her demonstrate her talents for us?"

Shu Chuxiao looked in the direction of the voice and saw that the speaker was a middle-aged man wearing a black suit, with a lot of hair wax on his head, a small belly, and a rather lewd look in his eyes.

He had never seen this person before, nor did he remember anyone in his family inviting him in. So there was only one possibility: someone had deliberately let him in.

Moreover, bringing up Shu Mowan's piano playing and dancing was clearly a deliberate attempt to embarrass her in public after hearing that she hadn't even attended university in the Yu family.

After figuring out the intricacies of the situation, Shu Chuxiao's expression immediately darkened.

He was about to speak when Shu Mowan stopped him.

“Wanwan, you…”

"Dad, I'm never afraid of anything."

Shu Mowan looked at him and said.

Perhaps it was because her eyes were so pure and clear that Shu Chuxiao suddenly believed she could resolve this unexpected farce.

If someone wants to embarrass his daughter Wanwan in public, then he'll let her take this opportunity to shine.

Shu Chuxiao squeezed Shu Mowan's hand before clearing his throat and saying, "Since everyone is interested in my daughter's talent, let her give a performance."

As he spoke, he turned to look at Shu Mowan.

The talent show should be decided by the individual themselves.

Shu Mowan thought for a moment and said, "Then I'll play 'The General Rises to Battle' on the guzheng."

"The General's War Begins?"

The audience looked at each other, exchanging glances to see if they had heard the piece before.

They were all respectable people, well-informed, and had some knowledge of famous guzheng pieces, but they had never heard of this one before.

Is there something they haven't learned?

"This is a piece I composed myself. I've never played it for anyone else, so it's normal that you haven't heard it before."

Shu Mowan understood the expressions on everyone's faces and said.

Everyone suddenly realized.

So it was a self-created name. No wonder they had never heard of it.

"Chairman Shu, your daughter is amazing! She's so young and already knows how to compose her own guzheng pieces. My son is about the same age as her, but all he does is play games at home. He's driving me crazy."

Some people praised Shu Mowan.

Others chimed in, "Yes, yes, your daughter is not only beautiful, but also very talented. It's truly enviable."

Among so many voices of praise, there is always one that seems out of place.

"Mo Wan, if I remember correctly, you're this old and haven't even graduated from high school yet. Are you sure you can really play the guzheng?"

Si Linfu's feigned ignorance rang out. When everyone looked over, she seemed to realize what she had done, raised her hand to pat her mouth, and said apologetically, "I'm just being blunt. I was afraid you'd be too proud and make a scene, and then you wouldn't be able to perform your talent show well and would embarrass yourself. That's why I said it. You won't blame me, will you?"

Don't hit someone who apologizes.
