Chapter 62 Did they think she was a quack doctor?

Shu Mowan caught the slap that was coming at her from a distance, and with a little force, the slap made her face turn pale with pain.

"It hurts! Let go of me."

Qianjin growled softly.

"You've been experiencing frequent bouts of coughing lately, haven't you?"

Shu Mowan didn't answer but instead spoke.

Qianjin was clearly taken aback, and subconsciously asked, "How did you know?"

"Your face tells me."

Shu Mowan glanced at her face and said, "Don't be afraid to seek medical attention. Go to the hospital to check your lungs. It's still treatable if you do it early."

Hearing her say that, Qianjin was clearly flustered.

She had been coughing frequently lately, but it wasn't related to any other problems, so she hadn't thought about calling a family doctor or going to the hospital for a checkup. But now, hearing Shu Mowan speak so confidently, she was still somewhat afraid.

After all, she had heard that Old Master Si didn't even want a miracle doctor, but asked her to treat his illness.

Maybe he really does have some skills?

"I've treated you like this, why are you still helping me?"

Qianjin looked at Shu Mowan and asked suspiciously, "You're not saying this on purpose to get back at me, are you?"

Shu Mowan glanced at the crowd looking in their direction, a half-smile on her face: "Didn't you all put on this show just to tell everyone that I don't know anything about medicine?"

If she doesn't show off her skills, wouldn't that prove she doesn't know anything?

The young lady looked embarrassed.

Unexpectedly, Shu Mowan saw through his little tricks clearly.

"Shu Mowan, I will go to the hospital for a checkup. If I find out that you are exaggerating and scaring me, you just wait."

She stubbornly insisted.

Shu Mowan stood up and clapped her hands, "Okay, I'll be waiting."

"I'm afraid that by then, you'll be begging me to save you while you're crying."

She looked down at the young lady with a half-smile.

"Who wants to see you for medical treatment? Don't be so shameless."

Enraged, Qianjin growled at her before helping her companion, who was pretending to faint, to her feet, saying, "Let's go."

Even though she pretended to faint, Shu Mowan saw through it. Staying would only make her laugh at her, so why bother?

The guests who had been watching the spectacle from the sidelines were surprised to find that Shu Mowan was actually quite capable, and they were less inclined to believe the rumors spread by Rong.

Perhaps she really does know a thing or two about medicine, otherwise how could she make such outrageous statements?

Standing in the shadows, Xu Yi's delicate face turned ugly as she watched Shu Mowan so easily resolve the trick she had set up.

Although those people didn't identify her, she still felt like she'd been slapped in the face, and it hurt a lot.

No, this can't just be left like this.

She quickly came up with another plan.

Xu Yi walked a little further away to make a phone call.

When the daughter of a distant relative who was staying at the Xu family's house arrived, she went to greet her personally.

"Sister Xu Yi, can that doctor you mentioned really cure my illness?"

The slender girl looked at Xu Yi and said timidly.

Because of her long-term dependence on others, she was sensitive and insecure, and subconsciously obeyed Xu Yi.

Xu Yi called, and even though she was in abdominal pain, she didn't dare to delay and quickly took a car over.

"I don't know either, that's what she said."

Xu Yi's tone was somewhat impatient: "Anyway, you just need to go see her as I say. If she can't cure you, I will naturally settle accounts with her on your behalf."

"Can……"

The girl wanted to say that even the doctors couldn't cure her illness, and it was normal that she couldn't be cured, so there was no need to hold anyone accountable. However, when she met Xu Yi's cold gaze, she timidly stopped talking.

"Xu Xiaoyan, if you still want to live in the Xu family, listen to me, otherwise get out."

Xu Yi said coldly.

We eat at her house, live at her house, and now she hesitates to help us with a few things. What use is such a useless person?

Xu Xiaoyan was physically weak, and her mother was seriously ill and needed the Xu family's financial support to afford hospitalization, so she dared not be so assertive as to leave on a whim.

She doesn't deserve it.

"Sister Xu Yi, don't be angry. I will cooperate with you to see a doctor."

She said weakly.

Xu Yi's expression softened slightly. "That's more like it. As long as you obediently let her see the doctor, I'll find an excuse to settle accounts with her and then get your mother a better ward."

"She's seriously ill, so staying in a better ward will save her from suffering, right?"

To get Xu Xiaoyan to do her job properly, she patiently guided her.

It was obvious that Xu Xiaoyan was tempted.

For her mother's sake, she had no choice but to betray her conscience and do wrong to others.

Xu Yi led her into the banquet hall, pointed to Shu Mowan in a corner, and whispered to her, "Xu Xiaoyan, when you get there, will you be able to act well?"

"Sister Xu Yi, I won't let you down."

Xu Xiaoyan said firmly.

Xu Yi patted her shoulder with satisfaction, "You can go now."

Xu Xiaoyan nodded, took a deep breath, and walked towards Shu Mowan.

As she got closer, she became more and more nervous. Her hands clenched together until they turned white, and even her legs trembled slightly.

Such a beautiful woman, even if she were to cooperate with Xu Yi in scheming against others for her mother's sake, must have felt somewhat uneasy.

"that……"

When she reached Shu Mowan, Xu Xiaoyan mustered up her courage and spoke, thinking she was being very loud, but her voice was barely audible.

If it weren't for Shu Mowan's good hearing, she wouldn't have been able to hear Xu Xiaoyan's voice.

"What's up?"

Seeing that Xu Xiaoyan was thin, had a bad complexion, and dark circles under her eyes, she knew that Xu Xiaoyan was not in good health, so she deliberately spoke softly, afraid of frightening her.

"I...I...I've heard you're a very good doctor, could you please take a look at me?"

Xu Xiaoyan was so nervous that she almost scratched her fingers raw, and her breathing was slightly labored. "I'm really feeling unwell, and the hospital...it can't help. I heard from everyone that you can even cure Alzheimer's, so...that's why...I came to you..."
