Shu Xueyin's well-maintained nails almost dug into her own flesh.
She knew that Shu Mowan was deliberately making things difficult for her.
"Sister, no, I just feel a little ashamed to face you."
After a long while, Shu Xueyin slowly raised her head, her face full of guilt. "You know so much, I should be happy for you as your sister, but I only thought that my family would dislike me because of it. I got stuck in a rut and went to extremes. I actually regret it."
Shu Mowan chuckled, "It's a good thing that my sister can reflect on her actions. After all, life is long, and who can guarantee they won't do a few foolish things? You agree, right?"
"……Um."
Shu Xueyin nodded slowly.
"Then sit down and have breakfast, so Grandma won't say I'm bullying you again."
Shu Mowan pointed to the empty seat and said.
Just as Shu Xueyin was about to sit down with Fu Rong, she heard Shu Mowan say slowly, "Mom, I feel that contract you signed with Grandma doesn't seem to be very useful. You see, Grandma points her finger at me and yells at me whenever she's unhappy, without ever apologizing. How about..."
Before she could finish speaking, Fu Rong became anxious, "Shu Mowan, you are not allowed to encourage your mother to drive Yinyin away."
“Mom, look, Grandma is being petty again. To be honest, I’m really upset.”
As Shu Mowan spoke, she even pretended to raise her hand to wipe away non-existent tears from the corners of her eyes.
Yun Yun was so amused by her that she almost couldn't suppress the smile on her face.
Her daughter can be quite theatrical at times.
“Mom, since you don’t like Wanwan, let’s talk about the contract…”
"I don't dislike it, I like it."
Fu Rong quickly interrupted, looking at Shu Mowan: "Mowan, Grandma admits that my tone was a bit harsh last night. Grandma apologizes to you. You and Yinyin are still best friends, okay?"
Shu Mowan raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything.
However, the meaning was clear: if you're going to apologize, then hurry up and do it.
Fu Rong was furious at Yun Yun's arrogant attitude, but Yun Yun had a contract, so she had no choice but to back down.
"Mo Wan, I'm sorry, please don't hold it against Grandma, okay?"
Fu Rong said patiently.
Shu Mowan smiled and said, "Okay."
Seeing how readily she agreed, Fu Rong looked at her with suspicion.
Her interactions with Shu Mowan over this period of time have made her realize that Shu Mowan is not an easy young woman to manipulate. Why would she be so easy to talk to?
"Does Grandma look at me like that because she doesn't believe me?"
Shu Mowan said.
Fu Rong withdrew her suspicious gaze and shook her head. "Mo Wan, no, Grandma just feels that she was too petty before, and suddenly feels that she really sorry for you."
She said that, but in her heart she had already decided to be careful and wary of Shu Mowan.
This little vixen is more difficult to deal with than I imagined. I have to be wary of her suddenly turning on me. As for what I'm going to do to her, I have to do it carefully and secretly.
Otherwise, if it gets out, even she might feel bad for the Shu family.
"It's not too late for Grandma to know now; she can change her ways in the future."
Shu Mowan said in a very magnanimous manner.
Fu Rong almost couldn't help but yell at her.
Only elders tell juniors to correct their mistakes, not the other way around. This little brat is getting more and more disrespectful.
I'm so annoyed.
"Grandma, eat more, don't starve yourself."
Shu Mowan used serving chopsticks to put some food on Fu Rong's plate.
Fu Rong looked at the food on the plate and almost broke her chopsticks.
That little brat did it on purpose. Knowing full well that she hates common people's things, she still put a small piece of scallion pancake on her plate.
Because Shu Mowan's tastes are more like those of ordinary people, such as scallion pancakes, fried dough sticks, and steamed buns, these things have been frequently served since she was recognized and brought back.
Every time Fu Rong saw him, she felt utterly contemptuous of him.
As expected of someone raised in a small town, even their food is so cheap.
"Grandma, eat up! The cook at home makes amazing scallion pancakes. I can eat them every day and never get tired of them."
Shu Mowan looked at Fu Rong and said deliberately.
She knew that Fu Rong didn't like these common, ordinary things, thinking that cheap things weren't presentable, so she deliberately put them on her plate.
We all have two eyes and one mouth, so what makes us superior?
Having just established her image as a grandmother, Fu Rong couldn't very well turn around and say she didn't like such a cheap thing as scallion pancakes, so she had no choice but to pick one up with her chopsticks and take a bite.
The taste was quite good, but she couldn't get over her own mental block; she felt nauseous and almost vomited.
"Mo Wan, Grandma suddenly feels quite full. Let's have breakfast later."
She simply couldn't force herself to eat this, so she put it down and made an excuse.
Shu Mowan looked regretful. "Grandma, it's such a pity that you won't be able to enjoy such a good thing."
Farts are good stuff.
Fu Rong cursed inwardly.
Where does such garbage and cheap food come from?
She was used to being high and mighty, and looked down on ordinary people the most, thinking they were inferior and worthless, even less than ants.
"Yinyin, let's go."
Fu Rong said.
After saying goodbye to Yun Yun and the others, Shu Xueyin helped Fu Rong leave.
As she walked out the door and turned the corner, she still turned back to look at Si Tingyu one last time, and seeing him staring intently at Shu Mowan, her heart ached again.
"Yinyin, don't be surprised. Grandma will let Tingyu marry you."
After walking quite a distance, Fu Rong suddenly patted Shu Xueyin's hand and made a solemn promise.
"Grandma, how did you know?"
Shu Xueyin exclaimed in shock.
She thought Si Tingyu's actions were subtle, but Fu Rong saw them all.
"I'm your grandmother, how could I not know what you're thinking?"
