At the highest point of the giant ship, the man with the broken eyebrow looked down at the man in black robes below and frowned.
"Where did this person come from? Carrying a coffin in broad daylight is really creepy and unlucky."
The rough old man laughed and replied, "Boss, who cares who they are or where they come from? Once they're on our ship, they're all fat sheep waiting to be slaughtered."
“That’s a good point.” A glint of cunning and ruthlessness flashed in the man with the broken eyebrow. “Tell the brothers, we can start making our move.”
The ship has now reached the middle of the sea, and these people have no way to retreat. They will have no choice but to be captured in one fell swoop.
"Yes, boss."
On the ship's deck, the rough-looking old man addressed the crowd below, "We're still quite a distance from the Western Regions' Brahma Kingdom, and there's not much to eat on the sea."
"The ship owner has specially prepared some food for everyone. Although it is not as exquisite as that in a grand restaurant, it is the ship owner's way of showing his appreciation."
"I hope you won't find it offensive." After he finished speaking, a crew member immediately brought over some sesame seed cakes and a simple side dish.
Everyone on the boat responded, "How could we possibly mind? Thank you for your kindness, Captain."
"The boat owner is very kind."
"I've really met some kind people. I didn't expect there would still be something to eat."
"Yes, yes, traveling on this endless sea, I've long since run out of the rations I brought, and my stomach is growling with hunger."
Ruan Xiyan and Ling Jingyan sat casually in the cabin, looking at the food that had been distributed to them, and exchanged a glance.
Especially when Ruan Xiyan smelled the sesame seed cake in her hand, she immediately knew that some ingredients had been added.
It's not so easy to fool an alchemist with such a low-quality substance as the Bewitching Powder.
It really is true that what you say comes true.
She already felt that the price of spirit stones charged by this ship was unusually low.
Furthermore, when she later saw that it was such a luxuriously decorated giant ship, she felt that the amount of spirit stones collected was even more unreasonable.
I thought she was mistaken before, but I didn't expect these people to be so quick to take action.
It seems they boarded a shady ship and encountered pirates who robbed them at sea.
Even though she had never been to sea, she had heard that from time to time, some fierce bandits would appear at sea disguised as ordinary merchant ships.
Then, once they reached the sea, they would kill and rob to make a fortune.
The low price they initially set was probably to attract more people to take the boat.
Ruan Xiyan secretly slipped an antidote pill into Ling Jingyan's hand.
Ling Jingyan instantly understood what Ruan Xiyan meant.
Let's play along and see what these bandits are up to next.
While eating the pancake, Ling Jingyan also stuffed the antidote into his mouth.
Before long, the people on the boat, still feeling dizzy and confused, collapsed to the ground one after another before they could figure out what was happening.
Ruan Xiyan and Ling Jingyan also pretended to cover their heads, but eventually they couldn't hold on and fainted.
Wang Cu looked at the man with the broken eyebrow and said, "Boss, they've all been drugged. We've pulled off another successful job."
Jiang Daqi sneered, "They succeeded so easily. What a bunch of fools. Don't they know that people can be treacherous when they're out in the world?"
"Tell the brothers to take all the valuables they are carrying and throw them all into the sea to feed the fish."
"With these things, we can finally report back to that lord."
Wang Cu sighed, "I wonder when we'll be able to break free from that person's control."
"Boss, he said earlier that this was the last time he wanted us to do something for him. Is that true?"
Jiang Daqi shook his head. "I don't know, but if we want to live well, we have to follow his orders and commands. Let's get to work."
"Yes, boss." Wang Cugang stepped out.
Then a crew member exclaimed from below, "You... how are you alright?"
Upon hearing the commotion, Jiang Daqi and Wang Cu immediately went down to investigate.
They were also surprised when they saw the black-robed man sitting on the coffin plank.
They had noticed the strange behavior of the man in the black robe and had even added ten times the usual dose of sleeping powder to his food.
How come this man is completely unharmed?
Shi Ke tilted her head and looked at him, a hint of confusion flashing in her eyes. "I should have something to do."
"The sesame seed cakes are delicious, do you have any more?" Shi Ke said, reaching out to the crew member.
In their eyes, this was nothing short of a provocation.
Jiang Daqi narrowed his eyes. "Since the mind-control powder has no effect on him, let's just kill him directly."
He gave orders to the surrounding crew members and bandits.
The bandits, weapons in hand, immediately charged toward Shi Ke.
Upon seeing this, Shi Ke's previously harmless expression instantly turned gloomy.
He grinned, revealing two inhuman-looking sharp teeth at the corners of his mouth. "Humans, what a bunch of rude people."
He was incredibly fast, arriving before the bandits could even reach him.
He dashed out like lightning, dodging the layers of bandits surrounding him, and arrived directly in front of Jiang Daqi.
Jiang Daqi was startled and reached out to grab Shi Ke, but he grabbed nothing.
Shi Ke smiled slightly at him and punched him in the stomach.
Jiang Daqi was thrown back, crashing hard into the mast before sliding down.
With a few swift movements, he weaved through the bandits at incredible speed.
They were all thrown into the air, then fell in all directions like flowers scattered by celestial maidens.
Shi Ke, however, returned to sit on the coffin at some point.
They could hear the huge commotion around them and the bandits who seemed ready to fall on them at any moment.
Ling Jingyan and the others could no longer lie on the ground pretending to be unconscious.
As soon as they opened their eyes, they saw a bandit descending from the sky and crashing down on them.
Ling Jingyan instinctively raised his foot and kicked the person into the air again.
Then he helped Ruan Xiyan slowly get up from the ground.
Wang Cu ran over and helped Jiang Daqi up from the ground, then saw Ruan Xiyan and Ling Jingyan standing up.
I was so startled I almost fell to the ground again. "Boss, two more have woken up."
Jiang Daqi spat out a mouthful of blood, cursing, "How could someone who has taken the sleeping pills wake up so quickly?"
"Those two must have been just like this strange man; they weren't under the influence of the drug from the beginning, and they were just faking it when they fainted on the ground."
"Yan'er, I didn't expect this bandit leader to be so clever," Ling Jingyan teased.
He looked at the man in black robes not far away and said, "Hey friend, next time you throw someone, remember to aim carefully. Can't you see there's someone over there?"
"Oh, sorry, I'll be more careful next time," the man in the black robe replied.
They saw that the two of them were actually chatting in front of them, completely disregarding him.
Jiang Daqi had been a bandit for so many years, and this was the first time he had encountered such a humiliating disgrace.
