Ruan Xiyan gently rubbed Jun Yu's face. "No problem, I'll take care of you."
Watching the two of them interact sweetly, oblivious to everyone else, Yu Qiqi and Luo Wanyin exchanged glances, both seeing deep surprise in each other's eyes.
Yingxue and Tinghe were so shocked that their jaws almost dropped.
Yu Qiqi winked at Lin Muze, who remained calm, her eyes asking him what was going on.
Lin Muze gestured with his chin towards them, indicating that this was what they saw.
Seeing their subtle actions, Ruan Xiyan smiled and said, "Just say what you want to say."
Yu Qiqi immediately asked, "Sister Yan, are you and Senior Brother Jun together?!"
Ruan Xiyan nodded.
Yu Qiqi's eyes flashed with excitement, "I knew it! I felt that the relationship between you two was unusual from the beginning."
"I noticed it a long time ago too." Luo Wanyin smiled. "Xi Yan, best wishes to you."
"Sister Yan, I wish you and Senior Brother Jun a long and happy life together!" Yu Qiqi skipped and hopped to Ruan Xiyan's side.
"Thank you." Ruan Xiyan smiled sweetly.
"Let's get down to business first. Now that the entrance to the cultivation continent has opened, we should head there."
“Yes, yes, yes.” Yu Qiqi quickly replied, “The rogue martial artists who were staying in Chiqing City before have all been heading to Qiongyan Forbidden Land since the entrance to the passage opened.”
"We should hurry up and go. If we are late and the entrance is closed, we will have to wait another five years."
Ruan Xiyan and her companions set off immediately, riding their flying magical artifacts towards the Qiongyan Forbidden Land.
Because the Skyfire Wasteland and Crimson City were very close, they quickly arrived at their destination.
The Frostfire Wasteland is covered with traces of scorching flames, and the temperature is extremely high, making it the complete opposite of the Blizzard Plains.
Lin Muze used his hand as a fan to cool himself down.
Yu Qiqi moved closer to Ruan Xiyan, her eyes lighting up. "Sister Yan, why is it so cool around you?"
Hearing Yu Qiqi say this, Lin Muze moved closer and exclaimed in surprise, "It really is true."
"Perhaps it's because the cultivation technique I practice has a chilling aura," Ruan Xiyan explained.
She looked at the most prominent and tallest mountain in the distance, "Is the entrance on that mountain?"
Yu Qiqi nodded, "That's right. My father said that every time the entrance opens, a ring of light pillars will fall from that mountain peak. If you stand in the light pillars, you can go to the cultivation continent through them."
They headed towards the mountain peak, and along the way they saw many martial artists also heading in that direction.
There were lone cultivators and groups of powerful figures, all hurrying on their way, ignoring the others.
Suddenly, Ruan Xiyan stopped in her tracks and said, "Scatter!"
Yu Qiqi and the others instinctively dodged around.
The next instant, the ground they were standing on collapsed with a roar, revealing a large crater.
Luo Wanyin glanced warily into the pit, but it was completely empty.
"Sister Yan, how did such a big pothole suddenly appear on the road? It was so sudden. If you hadn't warned us in time, we would have fallen in."
Lin Muze looked around but didn't see any magical beasts.
“It’s a ground squirrel.” Ruan Xiyan used her mental energy to probe the surroundings and the ground.
"A burrowing rat? There are still these things in the Skyfire Wasteland," Yu Qiqi said slowly.
The burrowing rat is small in size and has almost no combat power in Warcraft, making it very inconspicuous.
Their specialty is digging holes silently from underground.
They are mischievous and enjoy playing pranks on humans, just as they see before them.
They'll dig a hole in the road anytime, anywhere, and they'll be happy to see humans make fools of themselves.
As they finished speaking, different deep pits appeared beneath their feet.
Fortunately, they were on guard and dodged away, landing on the ground nearby.
Ruan Xiyan narrowed her eyes. "Judging from this, we've encountered more than just one burrowing rat."
"Since they want to play, then we'll play with them." Ruan Xiyan's lips curled into a mischievous smile.
Lin Muze immediately became interested, "Sister Yan, how do you want to play?"
How about playing whack-a-mole?
"This game is so much fun!" Yu Qiqi clapped her hands, and a meteor hammer appeared in her hand. "This is the perfect hammer for me."
Seeing Ruan Xiyan's slightly amused smile, Jun Yu smiled indulgently.
Ruan Xiyan focused her mental energy towards the ground, forming an invisible mental barrier.
The mental barrier confined those burrowing rats to a certain area.
The mole rats were burrowing around when suddenly their heads bumped into the barrier.
No matter which direction they burrow underground, they will always hit a wall.
Somewhat confused, they didn't know what was happening up there, so they burrowed down to the ground, wanting to find out.
Just as his head emerged from the ground, a shadow fell from above.
They stiffly looked up and saw Yu Qiqi and her companions grinning at them, but holding iron hammers in their hands.
Before they could react, the hammer slammed down without hesitation.
They felt a sudden pain in their heads, and it seemed like stars were spinning before their eyes. They were then slammed back to the ground.
They tried to emerge from the ground in a different spot, but every time they did, a figure would stand on their heads waiting for them.
They popped out of the ground one after another, only to be driven back again and again, their eyes glazed over.
"Stop fighting! Stop fighting!" One of the mole burrowed into its hole cautiously poked its head out, holding up a small white flag. "We surrender."
"Since you admit defeat, then obediently come out here." Ruan Xiyan's tone was sharp.
After a moment's hesitation, the burrowing rats emerged from underground.
"One, two, three, four... eighteen, nineteen, twenty." Lin Muze counted and exclaimed in surprise, "Twenty ground squirrels! We've disturbed a rat burrow!"
Looking at the mess of mole burrowers in front of her, Ruan Xiyan snapped, "Stand still!"
The mole rats were startled and immediately lined up in a row.
"Who is the leader of the rats?" Ruan Xiyan asked.
One of the mole rats, with a tuft of white hair on its head, shakily stepped forward.
Why did you attack us?
The white-haired burrowing rat rubbed the large bump on its head and replied timidly, "You humans are the worst. There were two groups fighting above our cave before."
"Not only did they make a mess of the area around our cave, they also ended up collapsing our cave."
"But the aura emanating from them is terrifying and murky. We can't defeat them, but we're also furious, so we can only harass some passing humans to vent our anger."
After the white-haired mole finished speaking, its head drooped down.
Who would have thought that randomly choosing some humans to trick would backfire so badly?
