Chapter 95 Let Me Know

"Since that's not the case, let's go. The driver is still waiting for us outside."

Without giving Li Ruo a chance to refuse, he looked at Jiang Ze and said, "Sir, if there's nothing else, we'll be leaving now."

These words clearly carried hostility. Jiang Ze's gaze swept over the two of them before he smiled faintly and said, "Alright, it takes a hundred days to recover from a broken bone. Take good care of yourself, and we'll meet again sometime."

After saying this, he waved to Li Ruo and prepared to turn and leave.

Seeing this, Li Ruo subconsciously raised her hand, trying to stop her.

But the next moment, the man's large hand grasped hers: "You're so reluctant to part with me?"

His deep voice, carrying a hint of heat, brushed against Li Ruo's ear, causing her to involuntarily shrink back, only then belatedly realizing the danger.

She shook her head vigorously: "Of course not, it's just..."

"Just what?"

Seeing that she stopped abruptly halfway through her sentence, Wen Huaiyan narrowed his eyes and asked in a cold voice.

But Li Ruo didn't want to say it out loud. In fact, Jiang Luochu and her son were the only people in this world who still had some sincerity towards her.

She didn't want to involve them in these terrible things, so she was always careful not to associate with them.

And naturally, the fewer people who know about their relationship, the better.

Thinking this, she gave a fawning smile: "It's nothing, Mr. Wen. I'm so grateful to you tonight. If it weren't for you, I'd probably still be on my way."

It was obvious she was just giving him the runaround. Wen Huaiyan's expression turned cold, and he suddenly sneered, "So that's how it is!"

"yes!"

Li Ruo nodded hurriedly, but as soon as she uttered a word, she saw the man suddenly release her and turn to walk towards the door.

Li Ruo was startled and hurriedly staggered after him.

But the man seemed genuinely angry, and didn't turn around the entire time.

Knowing that the two had gotten into the car, Li Ruo tried her best to break the awkward atmosphere the whole way, but to no avail.

Seeing this, the corner of her mouth twitched violently: "Mr. Wen, how did you know I was here?"

"Mr. Wen, would you please talk to me?"

She spoke until her mouth was dry, but Wen Huaiyan seemed not to hear her at all, showing no intention of paying any attention to her.

Seeing this, Li Ruo couldn't help but sigh, feeling somewhat defeated. It seemed that this time she wouldn't be so easy to coax.

It should be noted that although Wen Huaiyan has a cold personality, he has never shown his emotions and rarely gets angry. This is the first time he has been so angry that he refuses to speak.

But what exactly did she do wrong?

Li Ruo scratched her head, feeling somewhat bewildered.

The car quickly stopped outside the house, and as soon as the door opened, the man strode in with his long legs.

Li Ruo watched his retreating figure until it disappeared around the corner before turning her gaze away, letting out a helpless sigh.

What an ancestor!

"Even if I die, at least let me die knowing why!"

She murmured something under her breath, but dared not stand idly by.

After all, this man is still her nominal sugar daddy, so she has to keep him happy no matter what.

Thinking this, she rubbed her chin for a while, then suddenly limped into the kitchen.

Upon seeing this, the housekeeper exclaimed "Oh dear!" and immediately stopped her, saying, "Miss Li, just tell me what you want to eat. Your leg is still injured, so go back to your bedroom and rest."

Before they got home, the driver had already called back to tell her what had happened.

Upon learning that Li Ruo was injured, she was shocked and waited at home early.

Li Ruo smiled lightly, seemingly unconcerned.

She just sprained her ankle, not broke her leg, there's no need to be so dramatic.

"I'm just making a soup. If you're really worried, you can watch from the side."

"Can……"

The housekeeper was still a little hesitant, but Li Ruo had already rolled up her sleeves and taken some ingredients out of the refrigerator.

Seeing her determination, the housekeeper sighed and dared not stop her any further.

Li Ruo doesn't know how to cook many things, but corn and pork rib soup is one of them.

The steps for making this soup are not complicated, and it only takes an hour to prepare.

With the help of the housekeeper, the two arrived at Wen Huaiyan's room.

"You go ahead and do your work, I'll take it in."

Upon hearing this, the housekeeper did not refuse but nodded, carefully handing the bowl to her, and reminded her with some concern, "Miss Li, be careful with your leg."

Li Ruo nodded, pushed open the door, but didn't see anyone.

She called out "Mr. Wen" softly and tentatively, but received no response.

"Could it be in the study?"

The study was Wen Huaiyan's private domain, so she didn't go looking for it. Instead, she placed the soup bowl on the table, propped her chin up, and looked at her phone idly.

So much has happened these past few days, and whenever I have a moment to myself, I can't help but think about it, and my temples are throbbing with pain.

When Wen Huaiyan finished his work and returned to his room, he saw Li Ruo already dozing off.

The woman was still wearing the same suit, but because so much had happened that night, several buttons had been undone without her noticing, revealing her ample curves.

Perhaps sensing something, Li Ruo opened her eyes somewhat blankly.

A few seconds later, her vision cleared, and she smiled brightly: "Mr. Wen, are you done with your work?"
