Chapter 10 Settling in a New Sect

Shi Xuan made him hold his breath for a long time, unable to catch his breath. It was just a matter of one word to decide whether to accept it or not. So, should he accept it or not?

Shu Yuanguan finally gave in, piecing together his hesitant words and saying rather reluctantly, "Whether or not our Hundred Herbs Peak accepts disciples depends on the sect's arrangements."

"We won't accept it!" the sect leader and several sword peak masters answered in unison.

Shu Yuanguan's beard bristled, clearly showing that he was angry but dared not speak out.

Seeing the sullen expression on the face of the Hundred Herbs Peak Master, Tang Nong thought to herself, "This certainly isn't when you're most frustrated. If he knew that Shi Xuan was a prodigy capable of refining the supreme-grade flawless pill, how heartbroken would he be? But the current situation is that if she were to reveal this now, there might be a fight breaking out above. It's better to leave it at that."

Shi Xuan saw his predicament and did not press the matter further.

It seems that the task of becoming an outer disciple cannot be accomplished today; it appears that the only option is to become a personal disciple.

She turned to look at the other peak masters present. The peak master of Qingdai Peak looked somewhat serious and unsmiling, not someone who was easy to get along with.

The peak master of Siyuan Peak just said that he has won the sect's grand competition for ten consecutive years. It seems that this is a place with very strict requirements, which is inappropriate.

The sect leader seems kind, but the fact that he wants to groom her as his successor is terrifying, as it goes against her principles.

That leaves Fuyu Peak. Peak Master Lin Daozi looks young and kind with a dignified appearance. Moreover, he can tolerate even an unreliable person like Tang Nong who messes around with spiritual food, so he must have a high degree of freedom.

Seeing that several people were about to start a new round of competition, Shi Xuan decisively made the final decision: "I choose Fu Yufeng."

Everyone present, including Lin Daozi, was surprised. Fuyu Peak was sparsely populated, with only three direct disciples. They hadn't achieved anything significant for many years, and the disciples were all left to their own devices, idle and unambitious. Anyone else would have been better than him.

Although the sect leader felt it was a bit of a pity, they were still within the Lianfeng Sword Sect, and were all one of their own. Besides, the decline of Fuyu Peak was only a matter of the last few years, and perhaps with Shi Xuan's addition, Lin Daozi could still regroup and rebuild.

The peak masters of the other two peaks were not convinced and wanted to try again. Lin Daozi quickly took out an exquisite storage bracelet and handed it to Shi Xuan, saying, "From now on, you are a member of my Fuyu Peak. This is a gift from your master to you!"

Shi Xuan solemnly accepted the bracelet, bowed, and said, "Thank you, Master!"

The matter was already settled, and the peak masters of Qingdai and Siyuan could only watch helplessly as this natural talent for sword cultivation was wasted on Fuyu Peak, which they considered to be almost entirely devoid of talent.

It was heartbreaking, but there was nothing we could do.

Lin Daozi didn't give them a chance to continue coveting his new disciple, and quickly took Shi Xuan back to Fuyu Peak on his sword. As for the other disciple, Tang Nong, she could fly on a sword, so she could go back on her own.

Shu Yuanguan, who was passing by his good apprentice, called out from behind, "You're welcome to visit Baicaofeng sometime!"

Shi Xuan only had time to wave goodbye before his newly appointed master took him away.

Fuyu Peak is located in a remote area. From the flying sword, the most striking feature, nestled among the lush greenery, is a magnificent hall, surrounded by several courtyards with blue tiles and white walls. The overall atmosphere is casual and unrestrained, and it doesn't seem to be crowded.

Lin Daozi explained, "Our Fuyu Peak has the fewest people in the entire sect. Currently, including you, I have only accepted five disciples. These two courtyards on the east side are empty. You can choose one you like to live in."

He then sheathed his flying sword in front of the main hall, where two people were already waiting.

Lin Daozi first took the gourd from his waist, took a big gulp of wine, and then began to introduce the two people: "This is my new disciple, your junior sister Shi Xuan."

Then he introduced them to Shi Xuan one by one: "This is your second senior brother, Lu Wenxing. He is currently at the third level of the Golden Core stage. He is the tallest among the short ones and has the highest cultivation level among the disciples of Fuyu Peak."

Shi Xuan looked at him; he was indeed quite tall and good-looking.

Lu Wenxing met his junior sister's gaze with a big smile, showing off two rows of bright white teeth. He patted his chest and said, "Junior sister, if you need anything on this mountain, just come to your second senior brother! If anyone bullies you, just come back to me, and I'll fight back for you!" As he spoke, he even raised his fist at Shi Xuan.

Shi Xuan readily agreed: "Okay!"

Lin Daozi then pointed to another one beside him, "This is your fourth senior brother, He Weiqing, who has reached the Great Perfection of Foundation Establishment. He is only one opportunity away from forming the Core Formation." What he didn't finish saying was that they had been waiting for this opportunity for two years, but it still hadn't come.

He Weiqing was slightly chubby. When he saw his junior sister looking over, his face turned red before he could even speak, which was in stark contrast to his overly friendly second senior brother.

He lowered his head slightly and carefully handed over a small wooden rabbit, about the size of his palm, saying in a low voice, "Junior Sister, this is something I carved. It's for you."

Shi Xuan accepted it generously; the wood carving was lifelike and very pleasing.

"Thank you, Fourth Senior Brother." After saying thank you, the chubby boy's face turned even redder.

Lu Wenxing jumped up and patted He Weiqing on the shoulder, shouting, "You have no martial ethics! How could you deliver a gift to your junior sister all by yourself without telling me? I was caught off guard and didn't prepare anything!"

As she spoke, she began rummaging through his storage bag, and after a while, she found a light blue dress.

Shi Xuan noticed that he was using a storage bag, and his fourth senior brother also had one hanging from his waist, as did Tang Nong. It was clear that the mainstream storage tool among the disciples was still the storage bag, so the large-capacity storage bracelet that Lin Daozi gave her must have been a very valuable gift.

She doesn't have anything to offer as a formal apprenticeship gift yet; she'll see what her master needs later and then provide it.

"This is a defensive robe that my second senior brother obtained from a secret realm. I'm giving it to my junior sister as a gift!" He had originally planned to sell it for a good price, but now he couldn't care less; giving it to his junior sister as a gift was more important. Look how tattered her clothes are; she must be even poorer than him, unable to even afford new clothes.

"Thank you, Second Senior Brother. You're so generous." Shi Xuan accepted the robe with a smile and praised him. His smile revealed the dimples on both sides of his mouth, adding a touch of playfulness to his appearance.

Junior sister is so cute! Lu Wenxing straightened his back even more.

Lin Daozi took another sip of wine. He had followed the sect leader out to recruit disciples earlier, maintaining a proper demeanor for a long time without taking a single sip. Now that he was back on his own turf and had recruited disciples, there was nothing more to be pretentious about.

"Tang Nong is your third senior sister. You came with her and you already know each other, so I won't wait for her to come back to introduce you," he said, then turned to his two disciples, "Now that Shi Xuan has come to our Fuyu Peak, you must take good care of her. We can't let our small number of people at Fuyu Peak diminish our ambition. We won't go out and cause trouble, but if anyone dares to bully us, don't be a coward!"
