Chapter 159 My Wife is Filial

Yun Jin did not turn a blind eye to He Tingchuan's performance.

Judging from He's mother's behavior, she was clearly unaware that He was also involved.

As clever as Yun Jin is, she must know what's going on. He Tingchuan must have taken the blame for the tubal ligation surgery all by himself, extricating her from the situation so that his mother wouldn't complain about her as her daughter-in-law.

Yun Jin pretended to be very angry and said to He Tingchuan, "Come here, let's talk."

He Tingchuan looked resistant.

Yun Jin said coldly, "Come here!"

He Tingchuan kept turning back to look at his mother. He was quite the drama queen. His mother didn't feel sorry for her son at all. She curled her lips with schadenfreude and said, "Just wait and see. Your wife will teach you a lesson."

He Tingchuan cried out for help: "Mom!"

"Don't yell, your mother doesn't know anything." Then he said to Yun Jin, "Give her a good lesson, don't hold back."

Yun Jin was both amused and exasperated.

The couple went back inside, while Mrs. He curiously watched the commotion downstairs.

Yun Jin closed the door: "My husband is great, he dares to take responsibility, not bad at all!"

He Tingchuan raised an eyebrow smugly: "It was my decision to begin with, so you can't be blamed. Just don't let it slip in front of Mom."

Yun Jin nodded in understanding: "Since we're going to have an opera performance, we can't just let it go like this. Mom's probably listening downstairs!"

"Okay, go ahead and scold me," He Tingchuan said, holding his wife tightly, unable to get enough of looking at her. Her clever little face was as cute as a little rice cake.

Yun Jin immediately started scolding He Tingchuan, pretending to be angry: "You actually kept such a big thing from me. Do you even care about me as your wife anymore? He Tingchuan, you've gone too far!"

As she spoke, Yun Jin gave him a comforting kiss.

He Tingchuan immediately became meek and submissive: "Wife, I was wrong!"

He Tingchuan also kissed him.

"No, you did nothing wrong. If you knew you were wrong, you wouldn't have gone to the surgery alone, you wouldn't have kept it from me. You don't respect me at all, sob, you're so infuriating..."

Yun Jin stroked He Tingchuan's handsome face and gave him two kisses.

He Tingchuan's lips curled up, his handsome, cold features softened, and his eyes were full of affection. He said, "How could I not? We have Xiao Nian Gao. I just don't want you to suffer."

“I’m willing to endure hardship. Is it wrong for me to want to have more children for you?” Yun Jin’s words pleased Mother He. The thought that her son could no longer have children made her feel sorry for Yun Jin.

Mrs. He sighed, stopped listening to their commotion, went back to her room and rummaged through drawers and cabinets looking for things. In the end, she brought out a large box, which contained several pieces of large yellow croaker.

Mrs. He thought that her son had wronged his wife, and as his mother, she had to do something to make amends.

Consider these things as compensation for the younger daughter-in-law!

It's all a tragedy!

Yun Jin was arguing, but her actions didn't stop at all. She ended up arguing so much that she ended up in bed with him.

Little Rice Cake was taken out to play by He's father, so the couple didn't have to worry about her at all. They put out their anger on the spot, since no one would bother them at this time.

He Tingchuan took a special look. His mother had stopped listening to them bickering and arguing. As long as they kept quiet, who would know if they were fighting or doing something else?

At dinner time, He Zizhen didn't see Yun Jin and asked curiously, "Where's Auntie? Why didn't she come down for dinner?"

He Tingchuan said expressionlessly, "No need to wait, just eat."

Mrs. He sneered: "Who else could it be? Your uncle angered him."

He Tingchuan; "..."

At this moment, the exhausted Yun Jin had no idea that the culprit was downstairs being scrutinized by Mr. He and the others, who were all staring at him with reproachful eyes.

He Tingchuan: "..."

He has less and less of a place in this family.

Little Rice Cake stared at her father, her eyes filled with confusion: "Mom!"

"I'll take you to find your mom after you finish eating!"

"Dad, eat!" The little rice cake couldn't finish it all, so he had to ask for help.

He Tingchuan ate the steamed egg custard his daughter brought him in one gulp, thinking to himself, "Luckily, my daughter cares about me."

Keep feeding the little rice cake; once she's finished eating, she'll look for her mother, and no one can fool her.

Looking at He Tingchuan, who genuinely doted on his granddaughter, Mrs. He sighed inwardly.

That night, I told the old man about He Tingchuan's tubal ligation. He's father's expression remained unchanged, as if he already knew.

Mrs. He was dumbfounded: "You knew?"

"They only found out a few days earlier than you. Alright, they're not worried about you not having a son to take care of you in your old age, so don't worry about it. Sons and daughters are the same. Little Niangao is so smart and well-behaved, she won't be too bad off in the future."

Mr. He added, "Children and grandchildren have their own blessings."

Mrs. He thought about it and agreed.

......

He Tingchuan's vacation was short, following the national holidays.

They will go back on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year.

Xiao Niangao has received a lot of red envelopes these past few days. After Yun Jin collected the red envelopes, she took out all the money and found several large red envelopes. It was clear that they were given by elders who had close ties with He's father and others.

They're basically all two or five yuan.

Although it's not as much as the ten yuan that Mother He gave her.

Two yuan or five yuan is a big red envelope.

Xiao Niangao brought back nearly a hundred yuan on this trip.

Yun Jin hadn't expected there to be so many.

I'll come again next time!

They packed up to return to their camp. Mother He was reluctant to let them go, so she prepared a lot of food and drink for them, afraid that they would go hungry.

Finally, he stuffed a heavy cookie box into Yun Jin's hand: "Take this back and eat it."

Yun Jin: "???"

This doesn't look like food!

With a knowing look in her eyes, Yun Jin felt like she was making an underground rendezvous. She nodded slightly to indicate that she understood, put the cookie box away in her mother's bag, and carried it with her.
