"Nothing much, my brother isn't back yet. My mom told us to wait until he gets back before we eat," Li Aimei said honestly.
Yun Jin frowned: "If your brother leaves with Nian Gao's dad, he probably won't be back for dinner tonight."
Li's mother immediately said, "Never mind, let's eat first, just leave him a bowl."
He even asked Yun Jin if she wanted to stay and have something to eat.
Yun Jin shook her head and refused: "I've already eaten, you guys eat."
Li Aimei brought out a bowl of rice, which consisted of pickled vegetables and porridge. In the summer, they mainly drank porridge, as it didn't use much rice. Each person had a bowl, and if they got hungry at night, they could only drink more water.
Looking at Li Aimei, who only ate a bowl of porridge to get rid of her meal, how could she not be hungry at night when she was growing up?
"Come to my house later, Xiao Niangao has something for you." Yun Jin said it was from Xiao Niangao, but actually Yun Jin felt sorry for Li Aimei having to go hungry while studying.
"Sister-in-law gave me too much!" Li Aimei looked at the bag of peach shortbread in her hand and exclaimed that she couldn't finish it.
"Here, share this with your younger siblings." Yun Jin bought several packs of peach shortbread; she couldn't finish them all by herself, and she was tired of them.
"Thank you, sister-in-law!" Li Aimei was touched, knowing that her sister-in-law cared about her.
