Chapter 4 The female lead apologizes

Feng Qianqian was rescued after soaking in the artificial lake for a while, thinking she was going to die.

The water was a bit cold in early autumn, so Feng Qianqian changed into clean clothes as soon as she got back, thinking that her teasing remarks would surely make those gossipy older women think too much.

When Feng Qianqian arrived, she learned that they had many complaints about He Tingchuan's current wife, feeling that the woman from the countryside was not good enough for He Tingchuan. They believed that He Tingchuan would never have married her if her brother hadn't threatened to kill himself.

I heard in my past life that this uncle's first wife couldn't think straight and jumped into the lake when no one was looking, resulting in the death of both her and her unborn child.

I used to not know why I married such an outstanding man, or what I couldn't understand.

It wasn't until I came to the military family compound that I realized how much malice women can indeed destroy a woman who is emotionally fragile and insecure.

Feng Qianqian felt a pang of panic when she thought that Yun Jin, who should have died along with her unborn child, was still alive.

Logically speaking, Yun Jin should have died today, but she is still alive. Could it be that my appearance changed her fate?

I regret that I didn't succeed back then. If I had pushed the person into the water, the plot wouldn't have changed.

Thinking of this, Feng Qianqian couldn't hide the frustration in her eyes.

The current concern is how to steer the plot back on track. If Yun Jin's original wife hadn't died, how could she have married He Tingchuan, the future high-ranking official, and taken revenge on that infertile man?

Just then, I heard voices outside.

Feng Qianqian peered through the door.

"This is it. Instructor Feng, are you home?"

Sister-in-law Cao walked at the front, pointed to the tightly closed door, and knocked. In her heart, she only wanted Feng Qianqian to come forward and give Yun Jin, who was trying to argue, a good beating, so that Commander He could see her true colors.

I never expected this country bumpkin to be so shameless. She did something wrong but wouldn't admit it and even tried to argue her way out of it.

She actually deceived He Tuanzi into standing up for her. Isn't she afraid of being embarrassed when the truth comes out?

Yun Jin was happy to watch the show. She stood next to He Tingchuan, still wearing his clothes. The wind made it a little chilly, but Yun Jin didn't intend to return the uniform to He Tingchuan. She simply wore it.

Through the crack in the door, Feng Qianqian saw a group of people blocking the entrance. She immediately spotted a tall, imposing figure standing out from the crowd, just like the powerful leader she remembered.

The current He Tingchuan has a more powerful aura than his uncle in his previous life. He is younger and more aloof, and his features are now more defined, with sharp eyebrows and cold eyes, exuding the unique and fierce aura of a soldier.

At just one glance, Feng Qianqian's heart pounded, unable to contain her joy and excitement. She knew she had arrived too early, originally intending to take a quick look and leave, but who knew something unexpected would happen.

My gaze shifted and fell on a figure standing next to He Tingchuan, whose military uniform was it if not He Tingchuan's?

Feng Qianqian stared at Yun Jin with hostile eyes for a second, then secretly bit her lip.

She was jealous.

That military uniform should be draped over one's own body.

She was confident of victory before she arrived.

Even now, seeing Yun Jin alive, he still harbors ambitions to rise to power.

When Sister-in-law Cao knocked on the door for the second time, the resentment in his eyes returned, replaced by a bewildered expression of being disturbed.

As soon as the door opened, a face with bright almond-shaped eyes, red lips, and white teeth was revealed. Feng Qianqian deliberately brushed a half-dry strand of hair from her cheek, looked over blankly, and then her gaze lingered on He Tingchuan's cold and hard face for a moment before she asked, "What's wrong?"

Yun Jin raised an eyebrow as she looked at the woman's exaggerated and affected expression.

They're such formidable rivals, both outwardly and inwardly!

As expected of Feng Qianqian, the reborn female protagonist, even if you were a man, let alone He Tingchuan, you would be attracted by Feng Qianqian's gentle, innocent, and naive image.

Sister-in-law Cao said impatiently, "Isn't it all because of the incident where you were pushed into the water and almost drowned? We went to confront the culprit, but she denied it and even made Commander He misunderstand, thinking that we were slandering her. Since everyone is here, Instructor Feng, please judge who is at fault?"

Surrounded by onlookers, Feng Qianqian suddenly felt overwhelmed.

She never expected that Sister-in-law Cao would be so incompetent, actually dragging her into this mess.

She did say something ambiguous, telling them to bully Yun Jin, the original wife, since her fate in her previous life was to die with her unborn child. If Sister-in-law Cao and the others succeeded in bullying her, wouldn't He Tingchuan end up like he did in his previous life, with his wife dying?

Who knew that the bullying attempt would backfire and cause trouble for him?

Facing Yun Jin's ambiguous smile, Feng Qianqian clenched her fist secretly. She felt that the woman in front of her was not the same person as the woman she had seen by the lake an hour earlier, a woman who seemed to have lost all will to live and only wanted to die.

Too.

If she hadn't backed down, the plot wouldn't have changed.

Feng Qianqian concealed her inner turmoil, trying to figure out how to clear herself of any wrongdoing.

Since Yun Jin is not dead, she cannot afford to lose favor with He Tingchuan at this time.

Feng Qianqian feigned ignorance: "Sister-in-law, did you mishear me? When did I say I was pushed down?"

Sister-in-law Cao: "?"

Other onlookers: ??

Yun Jin: "???"

I was all ready to argue with you, and you actually said that?

The dumbfounded Sister-in-law Cao became anxious: "How could it not be you who said it? Otherwise, we wouldn't have gone to find Commander He's wife."

Feng Qianqian chuckled: "I appreciate your kindness, sister-in-law, but you can eat whatever you want, but you can't say whatever you want. I didn't say that Commander He's wife pushed me. I fell down by accident. Commander He's wife happened to be there and saw it. If she hadn't called for help, I wouldn't have been rescued."

"But that's not what you said before. You said that if it weren't for that pregnant woman, you wouldn't have..." Sister-in-law Cao's words trailed off as she lost her confidence. The woman hadn't actually said that she was the one who pushed her.
