Chapter 455 A Morally Despicable Person

Yun Jin learned that Li's mother was selling barbecue that day.

Yun Jin was also present when she came over to say hello.

Anyone can do business, but Li's mother is certainly capable of openly competing with Sister-in-law Gao in this business.

Yun Jin reassured Sister-in-law Gao: "Don't worry, your skills are better than hers, your ingredients are cleaner, and you have regular customers. Even if she sets up a stall, she can't outsell you."

Sister-in-law Gao knew that Yun Jin was knowledgeable and experienced, so she was no longer afraid when Yun Jin said that.

She opens her stall as usual every night. She has been running her stall for several years, and everyone is used to her cooking. They always order the same few dishes: stir-fried noodles, stir-fried snails, or crayfish and grilled fish.

Later, Yun Jin also got some dried squid for Sister-in-law Gao. After grilling it until fragrant, she added a little soy sauce and wasabi, which made it a great accompaniment to alcohol. Almost everyone who came to drink would order a serving of dried squid.

Li Mama's house doesn't have dried squid. Many people, even if Li Mama's dried squid is a little cheaper, are unwilling to go there and prefer to eat barbecue at Gao Saozi's place.

Li's mother shamelessly asked Sister-in-law Gao where she got her dried squid. Of course, Sister-in-law Gao wouldn't tell her. Everyone else was competing with her for business, and she wouldn't supply others!

“We’re all selling barbecue, so we should share good stuff. Your business is so good, why don’t you help us out?” Mrs. Li said shamelessly.

Sister-in-law Gao said sarcastically, "Then would you be willing to share half of your earnings with me?"

Li's mother was definitely not willing: "That's money I earned."

Sister-in-law Gao said, "Can't I earn my own money? I'll tell you. Don't ask me about these things in the future. I won't tell you. You do your business, I earn my money, and we won't interfere with each other."

Later, Li's mother was too embarrassed to ask Gao's sister-in-law anymore, so she could only secretly inquire or follow her furtively when she saw Gao's sister-in-law going out to buy groceries, trying to find out where Gao's sister-in-law was getting her supplies.

Sister-in-law Gao almost died laughing.

Sister-in-law Gao told Yun Jin what she had heard, and Yun Jin was amused.

Thinking of Li's mother's shady dealings, Yun Jin reminded Gao's sister-in-law: "Keep an eye on your ingredients. Many people are jealous of their competitors' business and will try to sabotage them, like poisoning them."

Sister-in-law Gao's expression changed slightly: "She wouldn't be that wicked, would she?"

Yun Jin shrugged: "I'm just reminding you that while you shouldn't have the heart to harm others, you can't be without the heart to guard against them."

Sister-in-law Gao thought about it and agreed, and afterwards she paid more attention to the ingredients she used.

Even so, someone still managed to get away with it, causing another customer to suffer from vomiting and diarrhea after eating barbecue at her place and being sent to the hospital. When Gao's wife was arrested and investigated, it was discovered that someone had put a small amount of rat poison in her salt jar.

It won't kill you, but it can make you get an upset stomach.

In severe cases, it can even lead to poisoning and hospitalization.

Gao's sister-in-law immediately suspected Li's mother and asked the police to investigate. Later, they found unused rat poison at Li's mother's place. For this, she was detained for six months, fined 500 yuan, and ordered to pay medical expenses for others.

There were also losses suffered by Sister-in-law Gao's family.

Li Aiguo apologized and closed his family's barbecue shop, forbidding them from setting up a barbecue stall again.

Even if Li Aiguo didn't close down, without Li's mother, he wouldn't be able to start the business with Wang Xiaoting as his assistant.

Wang Xiaoting never expected that she would not only fail to make money, but also lose more than one, and even get her mother-in-law detained. Wang Xiaoting became much more obedient at home, and her two younger brothers and sisters were taken care of by their older brother and sister-in-law.

Li's mother said, "If you don't take good care of your two younger siblings, I'll expose you and say that it was your idea that you controlled the portions. It won't kill anyone, it will only make them sick."

Terrified, Wang Xiaoting dared not offend Li's mother and could only take on the responsibility of her sister-in-law.

Yun Jin only learned about Li's mother's poisoning incident after she returned to Beijing and the incident occurred. It was only after Gao's sister-in-law called Yun Jin that she found out that Li's mother had really done such a despicable thing.

“You reminded me. I didn’t expect her to be so heartless. She said she was out of salt and took a bag from me. She returned a bag the next day, and it looked fine. Who knew she had a needle prick in it?”

"Fortunately, the dosage was small. If someone had died, she wouldn't have survived either." Gao's wife is still shaken. When doing business, she keeps her things safe and doesn't let others touch them if possible.

Yun Jin offered a few words of comfort and then hung up the phone.

Li's mother, however, did not disappoint her at all.

Little Rice Cake is now in elementary school.

My daily workload has increased significantly. I also have to go dancing on weekends, and then go to school and do homework during the week.

Before, Xiao Niangao could watch TV immediately after coming home, but now Yun Jin only allows her to watch TV after she finishes her homework every day, and she can't watch for too long. She either has to go for a walk with the dog or go upstairs to wash up and go to bed.

Or perhaps let her stretch in her home dance studio.

Lin Wenfang is back, and she brought her child back with her. Lin's mother helps take care of the child, while Lin Wenfang continues to work at the school, teaching the children to dance. Xiao Niangao attends Lin Wenfang's class on weekends.

That day, Yun Jin delivered the little rice cake. Lin Wenfang looked at the pretty and cute little rice cake and said, "I don't know when we'll be able to stop worrying about our little one. He's so clingy right now."

"It's fine if you don't need to breastfeed anymore. Just give him formula when he's hungry," Yun Jin suggested.

Lin Wenfang nodded: "That's right. The formula is all imported. The baby is a bit picky about food, and my mother was worried that she couldn't take care of him by herself, so the Dai family sent a nanny over."

"That's great, you won't have to take care of the child after get off work." Yun Jin used to wish she had a nanny when she was taking care of Xiao Niangao.

Fortunately, Li Aimei is very helpful and always comes to assist.

“That’s true. I’m too old to take care of the baby now. Having a nanny makes things much easier for me,” Lin Wenfang said. “Let’s have dinner together this weekend. It’s my husband’s birthday, and he happens to be in Beijing. Let’s celebrate.”

Yun Jin nodded.

He's parents were also invited to eat Peking duck together. Dai Yaozong now really enjoys Peking duck in Beijing.

Yun Jin hugged their chubby son, whose nickname was Oscar.

"Oscar, do you know who I am?" Little Rice Cake covered her face and played hide-and-seek with Oscar. Little Oscar grinned happily, amused and enjoying playing with Little Rice Cake.

Yun Jin inquired about the progress of Dai Yaozong's filming of Xiao Niangao.

Dai Yaozong inquired and found out: "They said it will be released during the New Year's Eve period, and it will be shown in Hong Kong. If you want to see it, you'll have to go to Hong Kong!"

“Okay, we’ll go when it’s released. It’s my daughter’s first movie, so we definitely have to support her,” Yun Jin decided.

Unexpectedly, before the movie was even released, Director Liu called Yun Jin, hoping to bring Xiao Niangao with them to shoot a movie, not in Hong Kong, but in the desert of mainland China.

Yun Jin inquired about the time and found that it would be convenient to go over on the weekend.

After Director Liu finalized the schedule, Yun Jin took Xiao Niangao and He's parents to the desert in October to accompany Xiao Niangao in filming her second movie, playing the daughter of the female lead.

When Little Rice Cake heard that she was going to film again, she was very happy and hugged Yun Jin sweetly, saying, "Mommy, in the future, when I earn money from filming, I'll buy you nice drinks, fun things, gold, cars, and houses!"

Yun Jin was so coaxed that she couldn't help but smile: "Okay!"
