Yun Jin hasn't even tasted the sauerkraut fish yet, so she certainly won't give up so quickly.
She wasn't angry that someone had taken her spot. She and Li Aimei found a suitable fishing spot. Li Aimei was in charge of digging for earthworms, while Yun Jin was in charge of fishing. Once the fishing spot was prepared, they just waited for the fish to bite.
When others caught fish, they laughed heartily and kept showing off.
Yun Jin waited for ten minutes before the previously motionless fishing float finally stirred.
It was quite a commotion.
As soon as Yun Jin cast her line, she caught a large crucian carp, which looked to weigh about seven or eight ounces. Li Aimei was so happy that she clapped her hands.
When the others saw that a big fish had been caught, they all came over to watch the excitement.
Yun Jin remained calm and continued fishing.
One after another, they caught big carp, big crucian carp, and big blackfish.
That's right!
She even managed to catch a blackfish; strangers might mistake it for a snake.
Li Aimei didn't recognize it: "Sister-in-law, this fish looks so strange."
"Black carp has few bones, making it perfect for sauerkraut fish. Would you like to have sauerkraut fish at my place tonight?"
Li Aimei was tempted, but conflicted: "My mom won't let me eat at my sister-in-law's house."
"Fine then. You can take a bowl back with you. I still need your family's pickled cabbage. Trading fish for your family's pickled cabbage shouldn't make your mom angry, right?"
Upon hearing this, another child's eyes lit up: "My family also has pickled cabbage, we can exchange it."
Not to be outdone, the others chimed in, "My family's sauerkraut is delicious; my mom's is the best at it."
"Mine tastes better, let's trade!"
"My home! My home!"
"Change, change, change..."
Yun Jin never expected that a simple dish of pickled cabbage could almost cause them to fight. The noise had even caused her fish to escape, so Yun Jin angrily snapped at them, "Are you doing this on purpose? You won't change it. I love the pickled cabbage from Aimei's. Go away, go away, don't disturb my fishing."
The children, their schemes exposed, slunk back, glancing at Yun Jin every now and then. Seeing that she hadn't made a move for a while, they secretly smiled.
Yun Jin never expected that kids these days could be so cunning.
To prevent herself from fishing, she deliberately stirred up trouble, scaring all her fish away.
Fortunately, she was willing to bait the spot. She threw in a bunch of bait, and within ten minutes, Yun Jin's spot was active again. Carp and crucian carp, which like to eat earthworms, were very active.
With a splash, fish took the bait, one after another, which angered those who hadn't caught many fish. They deliberately swung their fishing rods over to try and steal the fish from Yun Jin.
Yun Jin looked at the children who lacked martial ethics and said, "Don't think that just because they are children, you can indulge them."
Seeing that she had caught more than twenty fish, Yun Jin gestured for Li Aimei to go back, and didn't forget to throw a big clump of mud at her fishing spot, splashing water everywhere and causing the fish to scatter in all directions.
The children were so angry they were practically fuming.
Yun Jin snorted coldly: "If you're so capable, go find your own fishing spot. Next time you want to take advantage of someone else, remember to tell me."
The children lowered their heads in shame, stammering and not daring to speak, their faces turning bright red.
Yun Jin returned home feeling refreshed.
Along the way, she was surrounded by the women in the compound. Seeing Li Aimei standing tall and proud, as if she wanted everyone to see her fish, Yun Jin didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"So many fish?"
Are fish that easy to catch?
"Hey, why is there another fish that looks different?"
"This is a black carp, right? That's good. It's said to taste better and be more nutritious than other fish. I've heard that people who have surgery eat this kind of black carp."
Feng Qianqian happened to be there too. She called out to Yun Jin, "The doctor said my leg needs to rest and needs more nutrition. If it weren't for your man injuring me, I wouldn't be in a wheelchair. Shouldn't you do something about it?"
They were practically saying outright that they wanted to eat Yun Jin's fish.
It's still a big black fish.
Others wouldn't benefit themselves, nor would they want Yun Jin to have an easy time.
They chimed in, saying, "Of course! His leg was broken, he needs to be healed!"
"Commander He is ruthless."
"It's just a fish, we gave it to you, that's all."
"There are too many fish for one person to finish, so it's no big deal to give someone a fish as an apology."
Yun Jin glanced at her sisters-in-law who were standing there talking without any sense of hardship, knowing that they couldn't stand to see her doing well.
Then, with the sisters-in-law chiming in, it seemed Yun Jin was about to be suppressed by public opinion and forced to give herself the black fish she had just caught.
Feng Qianqian said that it didn't matter whether she ate or not; she just wanted to morally blackmail Yun Jin.
Seeing this, Li Aimei knew they were deliberately targeting Yun Jin. Feeling indignant for Yun Jin, she was about to speak up for her when Yun Jin spoke first: "What kind of fish do you like to eat?"
"I don't like eating things with a lot of bones." Black carp doesn't have many bones, so it's good whether you stew it in soup, make pickled fish, or boil fish fillets.
It just so happens that she also likes to eat pickled fish.
Yun Jin laughed, accurately grabbing the blackfish head from the basin Li Aimei was holding. Just as Feng Qianqian was about to take it, Yun Jin flicked the fish tail, slapping her face repeatedly.
"!!!"
Those present were taken aback by this action.
Everyone stared in disbelief, dumbfounded.
Li Aimei was also stunned; her sister-in-law was so fierce!
Feng Qianqian, who had been slapped in the face by the fish tail, was furious. Her face was burning with pain. She was so angry that she was about to pounce on Yun Jin and fight her to the death. For a moment, she forgot that her legs were not good. When she put her injured foot down, she fell face-first to the ground in pain.
Seeing Feng Qianqian's actions, Yun Jin had already stepped back. Looking at Feng Qianqian, who had fallen to the ground in front of her, she mocked, "You fell down by yourself. Everyone saw it. You can't blame me."
"Yun Jin!" Feng Qianqian was furious, her eyes filled with resentment as she looked at Yun Jin, her face bearing the scales from being struck by the fish tail.
