Chapter 490 Jealousy

As He Zizhen's birthday approached, He's mother grumbled to Yun Jin, "This child is abroad, I wonder if she'll ever get to eat longevity noodles. Back home, I always made them for her, and she'd always have to eat a double-yolk egg."

Yun Jin put her arm around He's mother's shoulder and said with a smile, "Does the old lady miss her eldest granddaughter?"

Mrs. He shook her head, pretending to be strong: "I didn't expect that one less person would make me angry. I'm happy."

Little Rice Cake smiled: "Then I'll go see my sister, and Grandma will stay at home so she won't get angry."

Mrs. He: "??? You're going abroad?"

Yun Jin smiled and took out the plane tickets she had already bought: "It just so happens to be summer vacation, so Xiao Niangao doesn't have to go to school, and her dance training is also on break. It's Zizhen's 21st birthday, so let's go and give her a birthday surprise."

Mrs. He's eyes lit up: "You bought my plane ticket?"

"I bought it, are you going?" Yun Jin showed the plane ticket to He's mother for inspection; her name was written on it.

"Yes, you must go." Mother He's face lit up with joy.

Little Rice Cake deliberately asked, "Grandma, aren't you afraid that my sister will make you angry?"

Mrs. He said with a smile, "Anyway, we've been causing trouble for over ten or twenty years, so we don't care about this little bit. Grandma is worried about you all, so she wants to go with you!"

The little rice cake smiled subtly.

Mrs. He was a little embarrassed and patted her head.

Mr. He had no objection to Yun Jin and the others taking his wife abroad to visit their eldest granddaughter. He even told the old lady to take good care of herself and not to cause trouble for her daughter-in-law, which made Mrs. He pinch him in anger.

What are you saying!

Is she that kind of person?

He Tingchuan knew that Yun Jin had taken her daughter and his mother abroad, and frowned: "Aren't you coming to the base to see me?"

Yun Jin coaxed, "I'll buy you a gift when I get back from abroad, and then I'll come to see you at the base. Don't worry, we'll only be gone for a few days and we'll be back soon."

He Tingchuan frowned: "So, in your heart, I'm not even as good as a niece."

"You want to suffer for your niece's anger too?" Yun Jin found it amusing.

He Tingchuan said matter-of-factly, "I'm your man, what's wrong with me being a little jealous?"

Yun Jin couldn't suppress her smile: "It's nothing, it's only natural. Even if you're extremely jealous, no one will say anything to you."

Yun Jin coaxed He Tingchuan on the phone for a while, and even secretly mentioned that there were many beautiful clothes abroad, and that once she bought them, she would wear them only for him, and he would definitely like them.

He Tingchuan: "......."

He doesn't like it? No way!

For this trip, Doubao and Dad He stayed at home. With Dad He taking care of Doubao, Yun Jin and the others felt at ease.

It was He Zizhen's first time going abroad, and her mother was a little nervous. They brought a lot of things, all local specialties from their hometown for He Zizhen, knowing that she wouldn't be able to eat them there. The three of them brought three large suitcases.

They can just buy their change of clothes there.

With Yun Jin around, Mother He wasn't nervous about going abroad and kept up with Yun Jin's pace the whole way.

The plane seats were next to each other. I was in first class, which was spacious and comfortable, and I could even lie down and take a nap.

With the elderly and the young, Yun Jin wouldn't be stingy with the airfare; it's not like she couldn't afford it.

Economy class seats are cramped, and sitting for a long time can cause your legs to swell. Compared to first class, business class is definitely not as good.

I slept on the plane, woke up and slept again, ate something, took my little rice cake to the toilet two or three times, and finally landed safely.

Once abroad, Mrs. He suddenly realized an important problem: "What should I do if I can't speak a foreign language?"

Yun Jin reassured her, "Don't worry, I can. Little Rice Cake can say a few words too."

Little Rice Cake nodded confidently: "I know a few words, such as hello, sorry, thanks, no... Grandma, don't worry, that's enough."

Mrs. He: "......"

Fortunately, seeing Yun Jin by her side, and with her daughter-in-law there, Mother He felt at ease.

Yun Jin hailed a taxi and went to the hotel she had booked. She had made the reservation over the phone before leaving the country. They went to check in.

I also called He Zizhen through the hotel staff to tell her that a package from China had arrived at the hotel and asked her to come and pick it up.

He Zizhen questioned over the phone: "You're lying, right? How could a package from China be in a hotel?"

Yun Jin was surprised that the girl was so alert. She gestured to the hotel staff and said, "It was brought by your fellow villager. He said your aunt asked him to bring it."

He Zizhen asked, "What's my aunt's name?"

The staff looked at the English pinyin that Yun Jin had written: "yun jin?"

"It really is my aunt! I know, thank you! I'll come over after class. Thank you so much!" He Zizhen was overjoyed on the phone, not expecting her aunt to bring her a package from so far away.

He Zizhen felt a lump in her throat and her eyes welled up with tears.

After hanging up the phone, Yun Jin told He's mother to wash up and take a nap. She then took Xiao Niangao to order a cake, since it was He Zizhen's birthday and they couldn't be without one.

Mother He was indeed tired. After washing up, she went to sleep. Yun Jin closed the door and left with Xiao Niangao.

He Zizhen couldn't wait for get out of class to end; every minute felt like an eternity.

After class finally ended, she asked her roommate to take the books back, and then, as if she were on fire, she splurged and took a taxi to a hotel that she couldn't bear to stay in for even one night.

The person who offered to help carry the items was her aunt's business partner.

Otherwise, who would stay in such an expensive hotel!

Upon arriving at the hotel, He Zizhen inquired about the package at the front desk. The front desk, following Yun Jin's instructions, gave her a room key: "It's inside, just go and get it."

He Zizhen took the key, thanked him, and eagerly got on the elevator. She was a little conflicted; she didn't know anyone, so was it inappropriate to go to his/her room?

Under normal circumstances, it is not advisable to meet in public places such as hotel lobbies.

The more He Zizhen thought about it, the more she felt something was wrong, but she couldn't resist the temptation of the package.

Standing at the door, He Zizhen raised her hand several times, wanting to open the door with her key, but in the end she decided to turn around and go downstairs, asking the front desk to make a call to have someone meet her in the lobby.

She remembered her aunt's teachings: the rule for survival when traveling is not to easily meet people alone.

Just as He Zizhen was about to leave, the door opposite her opened with a bang, and shredded paper exploded above her head. Xiao Niangao, Yun Jin, and He's mother walked out from behind the door: "Surprise! Happy Birthday!!!"

He Zizhen: "......"

Her gaze fell on the three smiling faces of Yun Jin and the others. Recognizing them, He Zizhen was dumbfounded, her mind went blank for a moment, and then she excitedly rushed towards them: "Auntie, Grandma, Little Rice Cake, ahhh, what are you doing here? Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

The four of them hugged and kissed passionately for a while. Before the other guests could complain, Yun Jin took He Zizhen to their room and closed the door for a good chat.

Looking at the birthday cake they had prepared, He Zizhen's eyes welled up with tears: "Thank you, Auntie, Grandma, and Xiao Niangao, for coming to celebrate my birthday with me. This is the best gift I've ever received in my life. Thank you all, I'm so happy!"
