Chapter 6 You Want a New Bride

"Yes, I want to have a super-male son to make you furious!" Yun Jin said this in anger. If she really got pregnant with a super-male baby, she would go to the hospital to resolve the issue immediately and would never cause trouble for society.

He Tingchuan frowned, his face dark, and grabbed Yun Jin's skinny wrist tightly: "Who is Chaoxiong? What is your relationship with him? The child in your belly is mine. Do you want to find him a stepfather?"

Yun Jin, still angry, chuckled speechlessly at He Tingchuan's serious tone of accusing her of adultery: "What stepfather? I'd like one, but would you give me one?"

"Dream on! Forget about it for the rest of your life. Your son must stay." He Tingchuan declared, not forgetting to ask through gritted teeth, "Is Chaoxiong your girlfriend from the countryside?"

Yun Jin was bewildered: "What do you mean by a country bumpkin? What nonsense are you spouting? Chao Xiong is a term that is a synonym for a born bad seed."

He Tingchuan's eyebrows could trap a fly; although I don't know what that phrase means, it doesn't sound like a good person.

Knowing that Yun Jin wouldn't find a stepfather for his son, he breathed a slight sigh of relief.

Seeing the flustered little woman, He Tingchuan secretly breathed a sigh of relief and decided not to argue with her.

Even if we disregard the fact that she's pregnant, we should at least consider her brother's feelings. Since he married her, he should take responsibility for her.

He Tingchuan remembered her saying she was hungry, and coldly placed the crushed aluminum box on the table: "You're not hungry, even if you want to make a fuss, you have to eat first."

Yun Jin was indeed hungry, so she didn't stand on ceremony with him. Unlike the original owner, she didn't have the backbone to distance herself from him. She believed that she couldn't let anyone else suffer a loss, so she just went for it.

Starving, Yun Jin opened the aluminum box, expecting to find a decent meal. But all she found was a steamed bun, two bites of chives and eggs, three bites of cabbage stew with tofu, and a little bit of pickled vegetables. The lunchbox wasn't even full.

Yun Jin pouted: "Do you want to starve your wife so you can get a new one? How can this little bit fill you up? Do you think your wife is a kitten or a puppy?"

He Tingchuan looked at the fist-sized steamed buns; he could easily eat seven or eight in one go.

This wasn't because she was a little bird; she would take too much and be reluctant to eat it, saving it for the next meal, which would upset her stomach. Later, he could only take a little less each time so that she wouldn't save any food.

He Tingchuan refused to take the blame: "Didn't you used to eat this much? Sometimes you couldn't even finish a steamed bun and had to eat a second one. You said you were born with a small appetite, didn't eat much, and were easy to feed?"

Yun Jin: "......"

So, is it still the original owner's fault for enduring hardship without suffering?

"I'll let it go this time, but next time give me a normal amount of food. I'm not alone now. If you want your son to starve, just say so." Yun Jin held a steamed bun in one hand and chopsticks in the other, took a bite of the old-fashioned steamed bun, and raised an eyebrow.

Compared to the soft, fluffy white steamed buns she usually eats, this slightly darkened, old-fashioned steamed bun is indeed quite old.

However, after chewing a few times, you can taste the sweet flavor of wheat.

Yun Jin's appetite was whetted. She took a bite of steamed bun, a bite of chives and egg, then a bite of tofu and cabbage, along with some pickled vegetables. She finished the bun in just a few bites and was only half full.

Yun Jin looked at the cold, stern man who had been staring at her as she ate her steamed bun, and said pitifully, "I'm not full!"

He Tingchuan looked at the lunchbox that she had eaten completely, and without saying a word, he took the lunchbox and left: "Wait here."

"Remember to get some meat, I love it!" Apart from eggs, there was no meat at all. For Yun Jin, who loves meat, it was too vegetarian, and her body was clearly malnourished.

She fattened herself up, not wanting to starve herself to make room for Feng Qianqian, who was eagerly waiting and couldn't wait to take the job.

They've all tracked them down here.

snort!

Of all the things she does, she just indulges in daydreams.

......

He Tingchuan strode towards the cafeteria, glancing at his watch. There were still a few minutes before the cafeteria closed, and there was usually not much food left at this time. If he had known she wanted meat, he would have gotten some earlier.

In the first few days after their marriage, he did think about nourishing her body; she was too thin, and he always felt that he would crush her.

She wouldn't eat the meat that was sent back for every meal; she only knew how to eat vegetables. Whenever asked, she would say she didn't like meat. The same went for steamed buns and rice; she would only eat a few bites and then stop. She had a small appetite and seemed to prefer vegetarian food.

If he forced her to eat, she would cower in a corner as if afraid of being beaten, wishing she could disappear. After one or two times, He Tingchuan couldn't force her to eat meat or more, so he could only let her do as she pleased.

Now look what's happened, and she's blaming him for abusing her.

That look clearly condemned him for being stingy and not giving him meat.

She was hungry.

When I went to the cafeteria, there were very few people eating.

There were very few leftovers, and as for meat, there was none at all.

Meat is a scarce commodity; once it's available, there's practically nothing left.

He Tingchuan frowned, glanced at the screen and was about to leave when a strange voice called out to him: "Commander He!"

He Tingchuan turned around expressionlessly and looked at the woman in front of him wearing a polka-dot dress, with long hair draped over her shoulders, a matching headband around her oval face, bright almond-shaped eyes, and cherry-red lips that opened and closed as she smiled at He Tingchuan.

He Tingchuan glanced at her indifferently, but before he could see her face clearly, his gaze fell on the lunchbox in her hand.

It contains meat.

Today, it was she who served the braised pork.

"Commander He is here for dinner too? I don't see your wife here." Feng Qianqian didn't see Yun Jin, so she came over to greet her, pretending it was a chance encounter.

He Tingchuan's expression was indifferent: "She's resting at home. Is something the matter?"

Feng Qianqian blinked her big, bright eyes and awkwardly brought up the old matter again: "I'm really sorry about what happened today. I didn't expect Sister-in-law Cao to misunderstand and cause you unnecessary trouble."
