Chapter 8 confirms it's her own wife.

As soon as Feng Qianqian left, Yun Jin warned He Tingchuan with a stern face: "Stay away from that woman with ill intentions in the future. You have a wife and she still clings to you. She's obviously morally corrupt and no good."

She also warned He Tingchuan: "If you dare to have an extramarital affair, your future will be ruined. As a soldier, you should know how important a soldier's image is."

If she were He Tingchuan's wife now, Yun Jin wouldn't bother arguing with anyone else.

He Tingchuan is different; he is the father of the child in her womb and her husband in name only. If he dares to cause a scandal while she is alive, it will be her who loses face.

He Tingchuan looked at Yun Jin, who seemed like a completely different person, raised an eyebrow, locked his cold eyes on her, and asked with a hint of danger in his gaze: "Yun Jin, what was the first thing I said to you on our wedding night?"

Yun Jin frowned, trying hard to recall what happened that night. He was nervous and apprehensive when he arrived in a strange place. He was so scared that he didn't dare to make a sound. He did say a lot of things before going to sleep.

The first thing he said was, "Now that I've married you, you can settle down and be my wife. From now on, my home is your home, and I'll take good care of you in place of your brother. Don't be afraid of me..."

As soon as she said it, Yun Jin was surprised that she remembered it so clearly.

In other words, He Tingchuan's words were extremely important to the original owner of this body, so much so that she remembered them and dared not forget them.

As Yun Jin marveled at the original owner's excellent memory, she didn't notice that the tall, imposing man in front of her suddenly loosened his clenched fist, and he breathed a huge sigh of relief, all his suspicion and wariness towards her vanished.

It's her.

Not a spy.

It is indeed my own wife.

Although he didn't know why she had changed so much, He Tingchuan was happy to see her like this, much better than the lifeless, zombie-like person she used to be.

Now, her eyes radiate a passion for life and a vibrant energy.

Even when she fiercely warned, threatened, and reprimanded him, it was because she was afraid that he would be led astray by other women.

Compared to before, when I would always want to go back to the countryside, being in the same room with him makes me feel like a wooden doll, awkward and dull, like someone whose soul has been taken away—it's a million times better now.

He only said those words to this woman.

He was certain that she had not been replaced.

He Tingchuan knew that there was a type of medical procedure abroad that could alter a person's appearance. Given his identity, he was easily targeted by enemy agents. The fact that his wife had changed so much made him worry.

Now that she has proven her innocence, she's not a different person; she's probably come to terms with things.

Is she finally going to settle down and live a good life with me?

Considering what she said before, that she would have the child even if it didn't want her to, her willingness to have a child for herself says it all.

Overwhelmed with sudden joy, He Tingchuan almost lost his composure. He coughed lightly, his fist to his lips, trying to hide his barely contained happiness. Afraid of being seen and laughed at, He Tingchuan shifted Yun Jin's attention: "Do you want to go shopping for clothes?"

"Go, of course I'll go." She was in a bad mood and wanted to spend his money lavishly. If she didn't spend it, would she save it for Feng Qianqian to spend?

Feng Qianqian is ugly, but she has beautiful dreams.

He Tingchuan glanced at the braised pork she hadn't finished and asked, "Want some more?"

"I'm so angry I'm full, I don't feel like eating. I'm not eating, you can pack up!" Yun Jin found her bag, which turned out to be a tattered military green bag, given to her by the original owner's brother who had sacrificed himself.

The original owner cherished it very much, patching it up again and again, even when the shoulder straps were all frayed, she couldn't bear to throw it away.

Yun Jin couldn't possibly carry this out; even a beggar's backpack would be better.

It's no wonder that the women in the compound looked down on her; to turn a perfectly good life into this, she was truly detestable.

The original owner's character was probably one who would endure hardship even if it wasn't meant to be!

He Tingchuan cleaned up all the unfinished braised pork and rice. He had been running around and hadn't had a chance to eat, and now that he was hungry, he knew she would leave the unfinished food for dinner, but he wouldn't give her that chance.

Yun Jin came out empty-handed and saw the person eating her leftovers. She was stunned for a moment: "You didn't eat?"

He Tingchuan nodded: "I'll buy you braised pork again tonight. You're pregnant now, so you can't eat leftovers."

“You’re right, I want to eat braised pork ribs tonight.” Yun Jin ordered the food as a matter of course.

Without a second thought, He Tingchuan nodded. He would buy her anything she wanted to eat, except for dragon meat, as long as she asked.

After quickly cleaning up the leftovers, He Tingchuan wiped his mouth, swiftly washed the lunchbox, and placed it aside. Yun Jin was already waiting at the door. With her watching him, He Tingchuan dared not delay, fearing that she might suddenly change her mind and not go.

God knows that when I took her shopping for clothes before, it was like I was going to sell her; she clung to the door and wouldn't let go.

He Tingchuan couldn't just get involved with a woman and refuse to go if she didn't want to.

Now that he's willing to go, he actually feels a sense of gratitude.

After closing and locking the door, they walked out of the apartment building one after the other, encountering many people on the way.

Seeing the couple, He Tingchuan, who was walking in front, was tall and had long legs. His back was straight, his shoulders were broad and his waist was narrow. He was imposing and handsome, and he was a beautiful sight in the family compound.

Following behind him, Yun Jin, who hadn't yet adjusted to her pregnant status, walked with extreme caution, her steps clumsy and comical. Her tattered, patched, and fuzzy clothes made her look almost like a beggar.

The two walking together created a stark contrast.

One is eye-catching, the other is jarring.

When Yun Jin noticed that everyone's eyes were on her, they were filled with disdain, amusement, smugness, and mockery.

Yun Jin gave them a warning look, mimicking their contemptuous and mocking gaze. She used magic to defeat magic, stood tall and proud, and walked with a swagger. As long as she wasn't embarrassed, it was others who would be.
