Before Aunt Yun could even touch Yun Jin, there was a snapping sound.
He Tingchuan appeared out of nowhere, holding Xiao Niangao in one hand and dislocating Aunt Yun's arm with the other. The stone in his hand fell in pain and hit his own foot. His hand and foot hurt, and his face was contorted with pain.
He Tingchuan kicked the man away: "Who did you say you wanted to kill?"
"How dare you hurt my wife?" If He Tingchuan hadn't been mindful of the little girl in his arms, he would have hit her even harder.
Aunt Yun almost died from the pain.
When Yun Jin turned around, she realized that Aunt Yun was planning to plot against her.
Fortunately, she had a reliable man. Seeing the complicated expressions on the father and daughter's faces, Yun Jin smiled ingratiatingly and stopped hitting Yun Na. It was no fun to beat someone up unilaterally.
Having vented her anger, and with the father and daughter appearing, Yun Jin lost her will to beat them up. She reached out to the much thinner Xiao Niangao, her expression a mixture of anticipation, nervousness, and heartache: "Xiao Niangao, it's Mommy! Come here, let Mommy hug you!"
Little Rice Cake stared wide-eyed at Yun Jin, carefully trying to recognize her. Her eyes lingered on the spot for a long time, her expression shifting from bewilderment, doubt, and uncertainty to finally breaking down in tears. After recognizing Yun Jin, her big eyes instantly welled up with tears.
Her large, beady eyes slid down her pretty face, her little mouth pursed, and she reached out her hand to her with a wronged expression, first letting out two silent sobs.
When Yun Jin held him in her arms, Xiao Niangao paused in her crying, then burst into loud sobs.
Everyone felt sorry for the little rice cake who was crying so excitedly.
While comforting Xiao Niangao, Yun Jin looked at He Tingchuan ingratiatingly and said, "I'm sorry I came back late. You must have had a hard time taking care of the child. I apologize. It was my fault. I won't do it again."
Looking at Yun Jin, who had lost weight, He Tingchuan felt sorry for her but couldn't bear to scold her: "You promised to take good care of yourself, didn't you? Have you been eating properly?"
Yun Jin said with shame, "I was so busy rushing on the way that I didn't eat properly. I want to eat the pork offal noodles from the cafeteria."
"I don't have any today, I'll buy some for you tomorrow morning." He Tingchuan's deep eyes held a hint of barely perceptible distress.
As they were still talking, one of the women asked impatiently, "Xiaoyun, I heard from your aunt that you didn't go back to your hometown, but went to see your ex-boyfriend. Is that true?"
He Tingchuan's face darkened as he looked at his sister-in-law, who was standing right next to him. His gaze made her regret her words.
Yun Jin laughed and explained, "How could I not know I have a lover? If someone says I'm having an affair with your man next time, will you believe it?"
The woman got anxious: "How could that be? My man would never do such a thing."
“You know your man can’t do it, so why do you think I can?” Yun Jin said without saying a word.
Others thought about it and agreed.
However, Aunt Yun spoke so earnestly, as if it were the truth.
Yun Jin knew that Aunt Yun and her daughter were smearing her, and if she didn't clarify things today, she didn't know what they would say behind her back.
Yun Jin said, "I really didn't go back to my hometown. After my brother left, there was no place for me there. I went back to my maternal grandmother's place. If you don't believe me, you can go to my maternal grandmother's house and ask."
"Oh right, these are a few akebia quinata I picked from my grandma's house. There aren't many, so I won't share them with you." Yun Jin showed off the akebia quinata and continued to explain, "When I was fostered at my aunt's house, I was treated harshly and abused. I was treated worse than a pig or a dog. All I did was work, and I ate worse than a pig but worked more than an ox."
"Regarding my marriage, if it weren't for the fact that they specifically chose me to marry, my dear cousin would almost have married my man in my place. She and her mother are no good people; they love nothing more than ruining my reputation."
"If I ever hear anyone say that I have a lover, fine, I'll admit it. Whoever says it, whoever's man is my lover, you're welcome to go and tell them!" With that, Yun Jin carried Xiao Niangao and walked ahead.
He Tingchuan picked up her bag, glanced at the mother and daughter who were slumped on the ground, and strode after Yun Jin. The three of them walked a few steps, chatting and laughing, and went home, making the onlookers look like a joke.
Sister-in-law Gao spat and said, "I knew you weren't good people. Get out of our compound!"
Sister-in-law Li threw sand at Yunna, saying, "So you're the sinners! Aren't you afraid of retribution? You think you're worthy of marrying Deputy Division Commander He?"
Li Aimei's mother threw a basin of dirty water at them, saying, "Get out of here! Don't get in our way. If you come again, we'll beat you to death!"
Everyone felt like they had been played for a fool, and they all criticized the mother and daughter. If it weren't for the fact that they had been beaten so badly, they would have almost taken matters into their own hands.
They decided against it; they didn't want to pay with their lives if they got beaten to death.
Thus, Aunt Yun and her daughter's evil scheme failed, and they were severely punished by Yun Jin, making everyone in the compound aware of their nonsense, their depraved character, and their bullying of Yun Jin.
Even the guards despised them.
The mother and daughter were utterly humiliated and furious. In the end, they could only slink back to the guesthouse. But not long after they got back, the people conducting a surprise inspection discovered that their letters of introduction had expired.
Moreover, no one here will take them in. If they don't leave today, they will be arrested and sent back.
Aunt Yun: "Find...find that brat Yun Jin, make her vouch for us. Her husband is a deputy brigade commander now, what's this little thing to her?"
Yunna felt pain all over her body when she moved: "She knows we're smearing her, she's not going to help us, I don't want to be deported."
"Then you'll go to jail?" Aunt Yun called her son over and asked him to go out and make a trip.
Yun Daxi was terrified: "I won't go! My brother-in-law is so scary, he can kill people, I'm too scared!"
"You good-for-nothing! I wasted my time naming you 'Great Promising'!" Aunt Yun cursed, looking at her son hiding in the corner, she was furious.
