Yin Shuyi knocked on the door.
"Go to sleep."
A muffled voice came from inside.
"I'm coming in."
Yin Shuyi turned the handle and went inside.
This was the first time I had come to my daughter's room, and I was taken aback when I saw the simple black and white lines all around.
In her mind, little girls' rooms should be pink and cute, but the things in front of her seemed to have nothing to do with that word.
If you want to take your relationship with someone to the next level, you should start by understanding their temperament and personality.
At the very least, you need to know what she likes in order to have common topics to talk about.
Yin Shuyi then realized that she had not only abandoned taking care of her daughter, but also abandoned the understanding that she should have had.
At this moment, Luo Qingyan sat on the edge of the bed, puffing up like a little pufferfish.
Seeing Yin Shuyi enter, she said in a deep voice, "Are you surprised? My room has always been like this. Are you a little disappointed?"
"No, it's fine, it looks very simple."
"Simple? Ha!"
Luo Qingyan chuckled softly.
It seems this mother really knows nothing but scientific research.
For a while, her room was decorated mainly in black.
Too many colors would increase her mental stress.
Only simple things give her a sense of security.
It wasn't until she met Qin Bai that she gradually added some other colors to her life.
But it's limited to white.
Therefore, to outsiders, this style appears very minimalist.
Only Luo Qingyan knew that it was because she was sick.
It is a very serious mental illness.
Yin Shuyi moved a chair and sat opposite her.
Their relationship wasn't good enough for them to sit on the same bed; she still knew the boundaries they should maintain.
"Qingyan, let's talk. You're right, things always need to be resolved."
"Um."
Upon hearing her daughter's answer, Yin Shuyi went through the lines she had prepared over the past few days in her mind like a research paper.
Then she sighed.
"Actually, your father and I had our reasons. After all these years, we've come to understand..."
Luo Qingyan asked calmly, "What's your predicament?"
"This story begins at the beginning, when I married your father..."
"Isn't it just that he's dissatisfied with his family and wants to rebel against that old man in power through scientific research?"
"Um?"
Yin Shuyi was extremely shocked. She gripped the chair tightly with both hands to prevent herself from moving backward.
The way he's looking at Luo Qingyan now doesn't seem like he's looking at a person at all.
In her previous remarks, she only thought that her daughter had inherited the best qualities of both parents and was a little smarter.
Now, however, they discovered that they had no idea whether the little thing in front of them, with its stunning beauty, was a human or a ghost.
Yin Shuyi lowered her gaze.
There is a shadow.
Thank goodness.
It's truly unexpected that someone as dedicated to scientific research would one day use the most primitive methods to define her daughter's race.
If it's not a ghost, then could it be that there's something in the bedroom...?
"I wouldn't be so bored as to install a security camera in your bedroom, thank you."
A mocking smile appeared on Luo Qingyan's unadorned face.
This mom is really funny. With such a wild imagination, why bother with scientific research? Wouldn't it be better to write novels and sell the copyrights?
"Heh, heh! That's not what I thought at all."
Upon hearing this, Yin Shuyi immediately got goosebumps all over her body.
It turns out that what's more terrifying than ghosts is the ability to see into people's hearts.
She couldn't help but ask, "How did you find out about this?"
"It's simple, because I came from that road."
Yin Shuyi opened her mouth, but swallowed back the words she was about to say.
All words and phrases lost their effectiveness in front of this daughter.
As for how she managed to get here, Yin Shuyi was too ashamed to ask.
Suddenly I understood why my daughter could read my mind; it was all thanks to her understanding of human relationships.
The more you see and experience, the more you naturally know.
"Mom, why did you stop? Let's continue."
"I......"
"Are you trying to say that you've had it pretty tough too, whether it's to get revenge on my dad or to spite him, spending all these years in the lab must have been tough for you?"
Yin Shuyi nodded slightly. Under that scrutinizing gaze, she felt as if she were standing under an X-ray machine, where even the patterns on her bones could be clearly seen.
"Qingyan, we were indeed wrong, but I still want to say that what your father and I did was based on the facts, not on the person. We don't really dislike you."
Luo Qingyan almost burst out laughing.
"Focusing on the issue, not the person? Mom, you're too good at making excuses for yourself. There's no such thing as focusing on the issue, not the person."
"Just like in your lab, what would you do if a new graduate made a mistake with a set of experimental data, causing the entire experiment to fail?"
Yin Shuyi frowned slightly; she didn't quite understand what her daughter was trying to express.
However, he frankly stated, "I will likely be fired, and if the situation is serious, I may be held accountable."
Luo Qingyan leaned forward slightly, looking directly at her mother.
"If the person who made the mistake in the experimental data were your father or an experienced researcher, what would you think?"
"I......"
Yin Shuyi seemed to understand what she meant, but it was too late.
