Qin Bai took her hand and they walked slowly to the side of the street.
The city's nightlife is just beginning before midnight.
The sounds of conversation and laughter mingled together, creating a lively and bustling atmosphere.
There are some vendors on the overpass and on the road. Although the items they sell are several times more expensive than usual, there are still people who want to please their girlfriends who frequently patronize them.
This includes Qin Bai.
"Sir, why don't you buy your girlfriend a bouquet of flowers?"
A thin little girl walked up to the two of them.
Qin Bai looked at the flowers in her arms; some of them were already wilted.
In this materialistic age, most people still choose expensive handbags or cosmetics as gifts.
Qin Bai squatted down to meet the little girl's gaze.
Where are your parents?
The little girl turned her head, pointed into the distance, and said in a clear voice, "My brother is over there."
Following the direction she was pointing, I saw a little boy who looked no more than two years older than her selling bouquets to a couple.
However, it seemed like a failure; the two men walked away laughing and didn't patronize his business.
The little boy was not discouraged and walked towards another couple with a smile.
Qin Bai laughed and said, "Is there no one else at your home? Isn't it dangerous to sell things here so late?"
The little girl immediately looked at him warily, and involuntarily backed away.
"You...you're not a city management officer, are you? Let me tell you, I have adults at home, and I also have a business license."
As she spoke, her voice trembled with tears: "It's so late, you've all gone home, you can't confiscate our things anymore."
Just as she turned to run away, Qin Bai quickly grabbed her.
He said in the gentlest voice possible, "Don't be afraid, I'm not a city management officer. I just want to buy all your flowers and give them to my girlfriend."
"real?"
The little girl couldn't resist the temptation and stopped when she heard that someone wanted to buy all her flowers.
Feng Yaoyao said with a smile, "Don't worry, what he said is true. Let's call your brother over too."
Looking at the almost bewitching face of the little green tea girl, the little girl's defensiveness lessened considerably.
After all, beautiful women are usually kind-hearted.
"Alright then, you guys wait for me here, okay? I'm going to find my brother."
"Okay, go ahead, don't rush, we're not leaving."
Watching the little girl's departing figure, a look of worry appeared on Feng Yaoyao's face.
"Xiao Bai, have these two children been kidnapped by human traffickers...?"
"No," Qin Bai said calmly.
"Why?"
"Because human traffickers won't let them sell wilted flowers," Qin Bai said confidently.
"Phew, that's good, otherwise I was already planning to call the police."
Feng Yaoyao patted her chest, looking at Qin Bai's profile with some suspicion.
In my memory, he never cared about things that didn't concern him, especially matters of injustice.
Qin Bai seems to have really changed now.
In no time, the brother and sister came running over.
The little boy had a dark complexion and wary eyes.
"Brother, are you really going to buy all the flowers?"
"Hmm, you should have more at home besides these, right? Can you take me to see them?"
"Of course..."
The little girl cheered excitedly, but before she could finish speaking, the little boy covered her mouth.
The wariness in his eyes intensified.
"I'm sorry, these are all the flowers we have left. The rest have already been sold out."
The little girl looked at him anxiously, her hesitant expression heartbreaking.
Feng Yaoyao gave a gentle smile: "Little friend, don't be afraid, we are not bad people."
"Yes, I know, but... we really don't have any more at home. It would be great if you could buy these flowers."
"We didn't mean anything by it, you can..."
Qin Bai squeezed Feng Yaoyao's hand, interrupting her good intentions.
"Yes, we'll take these flowers."
He took out a few banknotes, didn't look at them much, and stuffed them into the little boy's hand.
Then she took the flowers from his hand: "These are very nice, I like them very much, goodbye."
Before the brother and sister could say anything, Qin Bai had already pulled Feng Yaoyao and turned to leave.
"Xiaobai, are we just leaving like this?"
"Heh, what else?"
"I thought you would do something to help them."
Qin Bai shook his head calmly: "We can't interfere with other people's life trajectories. Being able to help them for a while is already a matter of fate."
"But...but they are so pitiful."
"It's only temporary. That little boy is very nice, and I believe he will take good care of his sister."
"Yes, he is very vigilant and not greedy, which is very similar to you."
Qin Bai smiled but didn't say anything.
He did see himself in the little boy, so he chose to buy all the flowers.
However, he cannot control the interactions between people.
Since the little boy chose not to help, his choice should be respected.
If we are truly destined to meet again, I believe we will meet once more.
After this incident, Feng Yaoyao was overjoyed, holding the flowers.
She'll like anything that Xiaobai gives her, no matter what it is.
After walking for a while, the two returned to the hotel.
When she opened the door, Feng Yaoyao paused for a moment.
She turned to Qin Bai and asked, "Would you like to come in and sit for a while?"
