Chapter 117 Bubble

Mo Wenbin's heart broke when he heard these words; each beat of his heart caused him pain.

"Silly girl, I'm your father." He said softly, letting Mo Yuqing rest her head on his shoulder.

"She's been arguing with me for so many years, what a silly girl."

He didn't realize he had repeated the phrase "silly daughter" twice; perhaps in his heart, no word was more fitting for his daughter.

Naïve, arrogant, and stubborn—how could she be so foolish?

Mo Yuqing cried like a child in Mo Wenbin's arms, just like when she was a child.

Mo Wenbin's eyes welled up with tears before he knew it, and he felt as if time had suddenly rewound many years.

As parents, they don't actually want their children to grow up, because growing up inevitably means losing something.

People don't mature for no reason; the more naive a person is, the happier they tend to be from childhood to adulthood.

Not to mention that as you grow up, you'll find that the world is still not a beautiful place.

Mo Wenbin didn't know how to comfort him for a moment, so he simply told his own story.

From their childhood acquaintance to their growing intimacy and marriage, to his dedication to his career, until finally, Mo Yuqing's mother filed for divorce.

Feeling guilty about his previous focus on his career, he refused to have custody of Mo Yuqing.

Ironically, the trigger for Mo Yuqing's mother's initial proposal of divorce was that he had to rush out to a meeting when Mo Yuqing had a high fever. Now, after the divorce, she has devoted all her energy to making money, just like him, unable to take care of her family.

The two of them completely understood each other's thoughts and difficulties at the time.

But there's no going back. Regret is the most useless emotion; it only torments you and changes nothing.

"To others, Dad may seem to have everything."

Actually, I have nothing. Now I have the ability to give you and your mother the best life, but she is gone, and you are gone too.

It's because when I was young, I didn't know what was most important.

I'm not as open-minded as your Uncle Chen. I should have listened to his advice back then...

The father and daughter gradually started talking more, and eventually came to understand each other a little better.

After a long while, Mo Wenbin felt his mouth was dry, but he still muttered from time to time that it was all his father's fault.

He felt that if he hadn't only thought about giving his family a better life, realized earlier that companionship was more important, or let Mo Yuqing stay with him after the divorce, his daughter might not have ended up in such a state.

"Dad, I want to try on wedding dresses," Mo Yuqing suddenly said.

Mo Wenbin stood there stunned for a long time, unsure whether to be happy that his daughter had finally called him "Dad" again, or shocked that she suddenly wanted to try on a wedding dress.

Under his blank stare, Mo Yuqing smiled, wiped away her tears, and chuckled softly:

"I won't have the chance to wear it again."

The dream is over, and it's time for me to grow up.

Mo Wenbin understood Mo Yuqing's meaning after a few seconds. His mouth kept opening and closing, but in the end he still didn't say anything.

He himself hasn't resolved his own inner conflict, so he has no right to advise his daughter to be more open-minded.

"Dad will have the driver take you there."

After he finished speaking, he turned his gaze to the window, tilted his head slightly, and sighed inwardly, "Chen Guanglin... you really know how to live."

How come you know so clearly what you want most?

"Are you really sure about this? If you stay in China, Dad can stay with you." Mo Wenbin made a final attempt to persuade him to stay, and this was the first time he had ever envied Chen Guanglin so much.

Mo Yuqing gently shook her head. "When we were little, we made a pinky promise that we would marry each other when we grew up, and then become a very good lawyer who would help those who had no money to litigate for free."

A slight smile played on her lips, but it was tinged with bitterness. "Since I broke my promise to marry you, the other person has to do their job properly."

......

In the afternoon, inside a luxuriously decorated wedding dress shop.

Looking at the wedding dresses, each with an astronomical price tag, Liu Yan couldn't help but click her tongue. They could have just robbed them, but instead, they kindly gave her a wedding dress as a gift.

They are all indeed quite beautiful...

She took out a wet wipe and wiped the tear stains from her cheeks, returning to her usual appearance.

It was as if they didn't know that Mo Yuqing was going abroad tomorrow.

"Hello, your coffee." A salesperson said to Liu Yan.

Liu Yan took it with a shocked expression and quietly placed it on the table to the side.

Even if it were free, she wouldn't dare drink it, thinking that she would be ruined if she spilled it on her wedding dress.

At this moment, Mo Yuqing, who had changed into a mermaid wedding dress, slowly walked over. She was dressed in pure white, and the mermaid-like skirt and waterfall-like lace train made her long legs and figure even more beautiful.

Holy, magnificent, and incomparably beautiful.

Liu Yan couldn't think of any other adjectives besides that; her attention had been completely drawn away.

It looks so beautiful, but it doesn't seem... happy enough.

Yuqing, you have to smile.

If you don't smile, people will immediately tell that you're a "fake" bride.

"Does it look good?" Mo Yuqing put the veil aside, twirled gracefully, and asked her.

Liu Yan nodded, "It really looks good..."

Mo Yuqing forced a smile, then walked up to Liu Yan with the veil in her arms. "Come on, bridesmaid, help me put it on."

Liu Yan couldn't hold back her tears any longer. She knew that by being with this fake bride, she wouldn't be a real bridesmaid anymore. She shouted, "So why were you so willful back then! Wouldn't it have been better if you had woken up sooner!"
