"Why aren't you reacting at all?" Jiang Chao asked, puzzled.
Chen Lu gently combed Liang Zhirou's hair with a wooden comb. "Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I also spent time at my girlfriend's house. I just brought Liang Zhirou back to where we live."
He deliberately pronounced the last few words very clearly.
Upon hearing this, Liang Zhirou secretly raised the corners of her mouth, swung her legs from side to side a few times, and sat there obediently waiting for Chen Lu to continue drying her hair.
"Damn, you two are moving pretty fast." Jiang Chao couldn't help but mutter under his breath. The more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became. He had originally planned to call and wish them a Happy New Year and brag about how smoothly he had met the parents, but in the end, Chen Lu had managed to pull it off.
He talked for so long, and it was only close to graduation that he finally managed to persuade Liu Yan to live with him. Chen Lu, on the other hand, got it done so easily.

"What are you doing standing here? Sneaking around like that."
A girl's voice came from the other end of the phone, followed by the sound of a glass sliding door closing.
For a brief moment after the door was opened, Chen Lu could hear the noisy chatter of people urging each other to drink.
Liu Yan's house was quite lively, clearly indicating that they still retain the custom of celebrating the New Year together as a large family.
“I’m on the phone with Chen Lu,” Jiang Chao replied softly. “That kid is with his girlfriend too.”
"That's perfect, quickly tell Zhirou I wish her a Happy New Year," Liu Yan whispered.
"Don't you have her contact information? Go tell her yourself, you stubborn jerk, why are you so picky?"
"What did you say?"
"What makes you so fussy!"
After Jiang Chao finished speaking, he began to whisper in a low voice, "You're on the phone, so give me some face."
He clearly didn't expect that Chen Lu was combing Liang Zhirou's hair, turning the volume up to the maximum and putting it on speakerphone.
"No problem, I'm your girlfriend, I'll definitely give you face."
Jiang Chao was overjoyed, "Really?"
"Of course, so I'm giving you the chance to mute your phone first."
