Chapter 44 is really a tug-of-war.

After Chen Lu stopped the car, he reached out to help her unbuckle her seatbelt, but Liang Zhirou blushed and quickly shook her head, indicating that she could do it herself.

He didn't insist, and instead got out of the car with a satisfied smile.

He knew Liang Zhirou would definitely feel embarrassed.

The reason I still helped her even though I knew it would turn out this way was naturally because I wanted to interrupt her thinking.

This simpleton is slow to react, and Chen Lu won't give her a chance to think it through.

A few seconds later, the girl timidly came down, looking at Chen Lu with a strange sense of guilt in her eyes.

She actually disliked refusing Chen Lu's requests; she was just too nervous just now.

Although I felt I had done nothing wrong, I still felt a little regretful.

Chen Lu didn't seem to care and laughed, "Let's go."

Today is not a weekend or holiday, so there aren't many people in the mall at this time. Most of them are concentrated in the various restaurants inside the mall.

The two walked side by side, looking for the elevator.

People handing out flyers would come up to her every now and then. Because she had handed them out herself, Liang Zhirou knew that these people had a hard time, so she would carefully accept them each time.

Chen Lu, after seeing Liang Zhirou's post, changed his previous habit of accepting only what he felt like and started accepting all offers.

Soon, the two were stuffed with a bunch of restaurant flyers, and had no choice but to turn around and find a trash can to throw them away.

"Shall I buy you one too?"

On the ascending escalator, Liang Zhirou turned around and whispered.

She stood one step ahead of Chen Lu, and at that moment, she was exactly the same height as Chen Lu.

It was just right so that I could look Chen Lu in the eyes.

Chen Lu smiled.

"We'll talk about it when your next class paycheck comes in."

He did not refuse.

After all, by then, she would have a clear understanding of how much money she had earned in the previous class.

Chen Lu wanted to instill this concept in her as soon as possible: money can't be saved by cutting corners. Instead of spending all her time thinking about how to save every penny, she should use that time to improve herself and earn more money.

Furthermore, mental labor is far more lucrative and less strenuous than working as a waitress in a hot pot restaurant or handing out flyers.

Liang Zhirou could work herself to the bone handing out flyers all day, but she definitely wouldn't earn as much as she would earn tutoring for an hour.

Once this precedent is set, and this simpleton earns several hundred yuan an hour a few more times, she'll understand without being told that she should pursue this path.

There are some things that you can't understand if you tell this naive girl who's never seen the world directly. You have to slowly boil her like a frog in water.

You'll understand it more thoroughly then.

Liang Zhirou stared blankly at Chen Lu, who was smiling, never expecting that he was thinking so much.

She was surprised that Chen Lu agreed so easily, and felt a little happy. She turned her head and began to recall Chen Lu's usual style of dressing.

So engrossed in her thoughts, she didn't notice that the elevator had pushed her to the end. She only felt her foot slip, and before she could react, she panicked and fell backward.

Chen Lu, somewhat speechless, stretched out his arm, stopped her, and gently pushed her to the ground.

"Focus," he said softly.

Actually, you won't fall even if you stand still and wait for the elevator to push you to the ground. If you panic, you'll lose your balance.

Chen Lu knew this very well, of course, because he had experimented with it when he was a child.

At first, I thought it was fun to wait for the elevator to push me up, but after I got a good beating, I stopped finding it fun.

"oh......"

Liang Zhirou was still somewhat shaken, unsure whether she should feel scared first or ashamed first.

She increasingly felt that being by Chen Lu's side made her feel very safe.

Chen Lu seemed to be able to solve everything. He would deliberately walk slightly behind her, keeping an eye on her and any unexpected situations.

Thinking of all this, the girl quietly looked up at Chen Lu's profile again.

At this moment, Chen Lu was focused on looking at the clothes around him. He had some experience shopping in malls, but not much.

They were all dragged here by their mothers and Chen Mo.

Chen Lu was somewhat worried.

He definitely wouldn't want something too expensive, and cheap ones aren't necessarily good-looking.

I wonder how long it will take to find one that satisfies both the price and the style.

However, Chen Lu felt quite excited about going grocery shopping together before and now shopping for clothes together at the mall.

Along the way, we saw quite a few couples out shopping, and to outsiders, Liang Zhirou and I probably looked like one of them.

Chen Lu walked to a beige French-style long dress and asked Liang Zhirou, "How about this one? Do you like it?"

He knew Liang Zhirou's personality well; she never considered wearing revealing clothes.

If I coaxed her a bit more, Liang Zhirou might wear the clothes for me alone, but that would defeat the purpose of buying her the clothes in the first place.

Liang Zhirou slowly walked over. She didn't look at the dress first, but instead secretly glanced at the price.

588......

"It's not pretty." The girl shook her head.

Chen Lu sighed softly, "Let's go look at something else."

Afterwards, he took Liang Zhirou for a leisurely stroll. Normally, if he were taking care of Chen Mo, he would have been crying and begging for help by now. For some reason, he didn't feel tired at all today.

However, after picking out many items, Liang Zhirou felt that none of them were "good-looking," whether they were T-shirts or skirts.

Chen Lu patiently accompanied her for a while longer, until they reached a light green dress. This one wasn't as flashy, but the fabric and workmanship were clearly much better.

The sales assistants at this store were quite enthusiastic and quickly came over to help.

"Is this a gift for your girlfriend? You have excellent taste, sir. This style would be perfect for your girlfriend's figure."

The sales assistant was young, with a gentle smile, and quite articulate.

Chen Lu turned to look at the girl beside him, "This one isn't very eye-catching."
