Chen Yunqi looked at the closed door, hesitated for two seconds, and finally mustered up the courage to press the doorbell.
The one who opened the door was Liu Yan. Although she didn't look as young as Liang Zhirou, she still had a cool and capable air about her.
Jiang Nan's eyebrows and eyes are clearly inherited from her.
"Godmother, is my sister asleep yet?" he asked nervously, then suddenly paused for a moment after speaking.
I thought to myself that I must have drunk myself silly to come to someone's house late at night to confess my feelings...

Jiang Nan hasn't gone home since they parted ways. She just sits on the swing in Yujing Garden, quietly watching the night sky.

Her first attempt to run away from home was here, though it failed when her godfather took her home...

"What are you doing here?" Seeing that Chen Yunqi was wearing pajamas, she finally couldn't help but ask.
"I've come to find you."
Jiang Nan felt that this person had said something pointless, but just as she was about to ask something else, her stupid younger brother turned away and stopped talking.
The atmosphere returned to silence, with only the melodious chirping of insects surrounding the ears.
"Do you... have a girl you like?" After a long silence, she finally mustered the courage to ask, her voice soft and low.
She felt she had tested him clearly enough, but her foolish younger brother barely responded at all.
Maybe that person really wasn't her.

"Yes, there is." Chen Yunqi nodded slightly, then turned his back and continued fiddling with something, occasionally smacking his lips and scratching his head, looking somewhat troubled.
Even though she had mentally prepared herself, Jiang Nan was still stunned for a moment, tears welling up in her eyes, ready to spill over.
She suddenly wiped away her tears again, stood up, and called out:
"I don't care who you like! If you don't stay with me, I... I'll kill you!"
Why is that? No matter how long those girls have liked you, they could never have liked you as long as I have; no matter how much they like you, they could never surpass me by even a fraction.
Jiang Nan couldn't understand it.
Chen Yunqi has been by my side since I can remember.

Halfway through his sentence, the guy in front of him suddenly knelt down on one knee.
Chen Yunqi looked at the rose in his palm, which could barely be considered a rose, and his expression grew increasingly grim.
Why didn't I learn properly when Dad taught me how to fold it?
There was no going back now. He smiled awkwardly, looked up at the girl's moist eyes, and said earnestly:
"Sister, I like you. Ever since I first understood what liking someone meant, I've liked you."
He nervously grasped the girl's right hand.
"I grew up with you... and I want to grow old with you."
Jiang Nan remained silent for a long time before reaching out and pulling him up from his knees.
Before she knew it, her silly little brother had grown taller than her. He was no longer the little guy who would stand up for her when she was bullied.
Chen Yunqi looked at Jiang Nan's expressionless face and his eyes became somewhat puzzled.
"Sis, why didn't you answer..."
Before he could finish speaking, the girl pressed her lips against his and covered his mouth.
The early summer nights are sultry and restless.
The surrounding streetlights went out precisely after midnight, plunging the garden into darkness. Beside the swing, only two dark figures embraced each other more tightly.
Feeling Chen Yunqi's rapid heartbeat and increasingly heavy breathing, Jiang Nan couldn't help but smile inwardly.
This silly younger brother is probably still shocked that he lost his first kiss so hastily.
