Ten minutes later, Chen Lu sat in the driver's seat, his gaze fixed on the road ahead.
The colorful lights of the red sign in front of him shone through the car window onto his face, constantly changing.
After seeing Qin Wenxi into a taxi, Li Sinian opened the car door and sat down next to him.
It's unclear what the two talked about when they parted, but his face, though showing some worry, still held a smile.
Two seconds after the car door closed, the heat wave that had just sneaked in slowly dissipated.
Chen Lu ignored him, looking straight ahead, and said expressionlessly, "I invited Liang Zhirou to dinner, but she couldn't even afford to order a dish that cost ten yuan."
Li Sinian didn't notice many details during the dinner, nor did he realize that Qin Wenxi's offer to pay was just for show. He thought Chen Lu was holding him back because he didn't want him to spend so much money.
He listened silently to Chen Lu's words without offering any rebuttal.

Before Jiang Chao could finish speaking, the door was slowly closed.
Jiang Chao glanced at Chen Lu, who was sitting on the bed reading a book, and sighed deeply again, "He dares to pursue a girl who asks for your WeChat as soon as he meets her, and he even goes out of his way to find her."
