Chapter 59 I Want to Go Faster

Even though it was dark around them, the girl's smile still made Chen Lu momentarily lose his composure.

Only when his phone beeped did he finally hear his own heartbeat again.

"Let me bite back!" he said after regaining his senses, even though the bite from this silly goose didn't hurt at all.

Liang Zhirou quickly burrowed back under the covers, pleading with a mixture of regret and fear, "I was wrong!"

After the initial excitement subsided, her rationality and inferiority complex quickly enveloped her again, making her deeply regret her actions.

My cheeks were burning hot, and I felt so regretful I almost cried.

Suppressing her emotions must be her instinct, at least until she is fully capable of supporting her family.

However, the dam she had built since childhood to be strong enough to take care of her mother inexplicably began to crumble after meeting Chen Lu.

When people have a place to cry and a place to linger, they become vulnerable.

Chen Lu deliberately feigned a victorious air and chuckled, "I'll let you off this time."

He should cherish the courage the girl had finally mustered.

It's best to just give a little something and then act like nothing happened.

Chen Lu naturally changed the subject, and Liang Zhirou followed suit and skipped over the matter.

She unconsciously breathed a sigh of relief, and her emotions gradually calmed down.

Chen Lu's gentleness was partly something she could directly feel, and partly something she couldn't quite understand for the time being.

Liang Zhirou sat on the edge of the bed, and Chen Lu sat on a chair next to the bed. The two of them only turned on a small night light and chatted in hushed tones, as if they did not want to disturb the quiet night.

For a moment, he almost forgot he was in a hospital, only feeling the quiet around him and the girl's murmurs in front of him.

It feels really strange to chat with a girl in the early hours of the morning.

After a while, Chen Lu seemed to suddenly remember something and looked at Liang Zhirou with a serious expression.

"How about we take a break? Everything can be done slowly."

"I'll take it slow with you."

His voice was both firm and gentle.

At this moment, Liang Zhirou also looked up at him, but for some reason, Chen Lu seemed to see a trace of resentment in her eyes...

Because she was really in a hurry.

There are so many things she wants to do, but she will only do them after her mother's legs are healed.

She increasingly wanted to become extraordinary as soon as possible, just as they had agreed.

Only then can I give the boy in front of me the gift I've chosen, even if it might still take a long time to save up...

But by then, her mother had become happy, and she naturally had plenty of time to pursue her own happiness and do things that would make the boy happy.

Only then can I stay by his side without any worries...

Chen Lu was stunned.

This was the first time he had ever seen Liang Zhirou, who looked timid and somewhat weak, reveal such a determined yet unwilling look in her eyes.

It shocked him and intrigued him.

No matter how meticulous he was, he couldn't possibly know what Liang Zhirou was thinking at this moment.

After all, the two grew up in different environments, and some differences are hard to bridge by putting themselves in each other's shoes; they can only be resolved over time.

He stood up and flicked the girl's forehead. "This is your punishment for disobeying."

Liang Zhirou covered her forehead, looking a little aggrieved. "I'll be good, I'll make sure to get some rest."

Take a rest...

That works too.

Chen Lu smiled at her, "I've said what I wanted to say. All that's left is to stay by your side and support you."

Liang Zhirou found it strange. She didn't expect Chen Lu to respect her thoughts so much, even though she thought he would be angry.

He seemed to support me in everything, even the tutoring job, telling me that if I really didn't like socializing, then so be it.

Instead of constantly analyzing the pros and cons with yourself and saying things like "I'm doing this for your own good".

"Why aren't you angry?" she asked tentatively in a low voice.

Now it was Chen Lu's turn to be confused. "Why would I be angry?"

The girl thought for a long time, then murmured, "Because you're right, but I didn't develop things the way you wanted..."

She felt that Chen Lu must have felt that all his hard work had been in vain.

Chen Lu tried hard to synchronize with the thought process of the simpleton in front of him, and it took him a long time to finally understand a little bit.

He chuckled and said, "It's normal to have disagreements, and besides, what I said may not necessarily be right."

When I give you advice, I often forget to consider your own wishes. For example, I might easily overlook the fact that you don't like talking to strangers.

You might be afraid that I'll be unhappy, but I actually think it's good that you have your own ideas. Because when we disagree, you blindly listen to me, which seems to resolve the disagreement immediately, but in reality, the conflict just keeps accumulating.

Until finally, a thought pops into your head—why should I listen to you?

"At that time, you will leave me."

"I really don't want to see that kind of thing happen."

As he spoke, he poked the girl's soft cheek again.

"No one has the right to demand that you become what they like, including me. You just need to do what you want to do."

Seeing the girl's dazed expression, he couldn't help but laugh again. He slowly walked to the hard hospital bed and said, "Go to sleep. We'll leave when you wake up."

Liang Zhirou stared at Chen Lu's blurry figure, her eyes trembling.

Actually, I'm willing. I'm willing to become the person you like, just as you're willing to follow my wishes.
