Chapter 8 If you're sad, just eat a candy.

She now only feels a constant ache in her legs, and her mood has plummeted.

Because she had spent half the day running around preparing food, she was so tired that she had no appetite left when she looked at the few dishes she liked in front of her.

Although she didn't feel bad about spending the money, she felt like she had wasted her time and effort because she couldn't properly enjoy the fruits of her labor.

She only realized now that she had been buying so many things online.

Previously, I only cared about buying whatever I liked, and never considered how much trouble it would be to carry it.

Adding to the confrontation with Chen Lu at noon, her mind was in turmoil, filled with thoughts of that inconspicuous girl.

Is she prettier than me? Why did Chen Lu have dinner with her?

Why did Chen Lu suddenly become like a different person? The attitudes of those people I rejected several times didn't change at all.

However, she quickly put those thoughts out of her mind.

Anyway, Chen Lu will come and apologize himself.

Just like always.

I won't forgive him so easily when the time comes.

......

After seeing Liang Zhirou off, Chen Lu strolled around West Lake to clear his head before returning to his dormitory late at night.

As soon as I put my hand on the doorknob, I heard my sons talking.

"Do you guys think Chen Lu and that girl at the hot pot restaurant have a chance? He hasn't come back from lunch yet." Jiang Chao's somewhat magnetic, hoarse voice was very recognizable.

You've misunderstood, haven't you?

"I think you're underestimating Chen Lu by saying that."

The other two roommates countered.

"Damn it, wouldn't it have been better if he'd gotten out of this mess sooner? I was really afraid he'd hang himself from some crooked tree." Jiang Chao laughed and cursed, and then the only sound in the dorm room was the clatter of keyboards.

"Boss, why are you acting like an old woman?"

Chen Lu entered the room with a wry smile, only to be met with three scrutinizing gazes the moment he stepped inside.

"You bastard, staying up this late with a girl."

"No, we separated after dinner, and I've been alone ever since," Chen Lu said, climbing into bed. "We're completely innocent, okay?"

After saying that, he silently closed his eyes, ignoring the sarcastic remarks from the others.

A moment later, he suddenly sat up, took out his phone, and then paused for a moment.

He sighed before lying back down.

Before going to sleep, I habitually want to send a goodnight message, but I realize that there is no one left to say goodnight to.

He suddenly saw that strange bubble machine icon again and, as if possessed, clicked on it.

I was just going to casually ask if they got home yet, and then I saw the line above saying 'Typing...'

What a coincidence!

Chen Lu raised an eyebrow, intending to see what Liang Zhirou had to say.

Ten minutes later.

Looking at the familiar "typing..." on the screen, Chen Lu wore an expression like someone using an old man's cell phone on the subway.

After he closed the WeChat app in the background and then opened it again, he spent ten minutes looking at a single line of text before his ID reverted to normal.

"......"

Is WeChat bugged?
