Chapter 114 Glug glug

Chen Lu was stunned for a moment, then kissed the girl's forehead and smiled, "Then I'll take you home."

Liang Zhirou had already turned her face away, too embarrassed to look at him anymore. "It's not possible right now..."

"It was bound to happen sooner or later." Chen Lu stared at the fishing rod, stretched out a hand and intertwined his fingers with the girl's. "If I fish you out of the river, be prepared, you'll never escape me in this lifetime."

With such a great girlfriend, why bother fishing?

I'll bring you home to be my wife sooner or later!

Liang Zhirou blinked blankly. "I'm not stupid, I'm not going to run away."

"Sister Liu Shui, hurry up and get it out of the water! I'm almost out of strength!"

"I'm trying! How can this stinky fish jump so fast? Wait, what did you call me?!"

"Don't push me! Hurry up and scoop up the fish! I can't pull it up."

"Hmph, let's see if you dare to talk nonsense again! Oh my god, it's too far, I can't reach it."

Hearing Lin Miaomiao and Chen Mo laughing and joking in the distance, Chen Lu asked softly, "Is fishing fun?"

"It's fun." Liang Zhirou nodded vigorously, even though she only caught one fish, she was still extremely happy.

Whether it's going out with Chen Lu or the feeling of being with a group of people, these are things she never even dared to imagine before.

Compared to these things, whether or not you fish is no longer important.

As the girl thought about it, a happy smile unconsciously appeared on her lips. She looked at Chen Lu and asked, "Can I smile now?"

"Of course, it's beautiful."

Chen Lu looked quite proud. "Your boyfriend did a pretty good job, right?"

He can still clearly recall the first time he saw Liang Zhirou smile in the hospital.

Chen Lu used to think that the human brain's memory was no match for that of photographs, but now he feels that's not the case.

He still remembers that moment very clearly; he can even recall the feeling that time seemed to stand still and his heart skipped a beat.

The photos simply cannot capture the breathtaking beauty that Liang Zhirou possessed at that moment.

"Um!"

Liang Zhirou rested her head on Chen Lu's shoulder, smiled and squinted her eyes, feeling the gentle breeze, wishing time could slow down.

If only things could stay like this forever, I really hope Chen Lu will always love me...

"If I can catch fish every day, won't I save a lot of money?" After a while, the girl uttered a rather unintelligent question.

Chen Lu opened his mouth slightly, momentarily speechless, before slowly saying, "Is it possible that if you used the time you would spend fishing to work, you could earn enough money to buy more fish?"

The girl then realized how silly her question was and quickly pursed her lips, no longer speaking.

Chen Lu chuckled and poked her head. "Whose girlfriend is so good at managing money?"

Liang Zhirou gave a soft hum and closed her eyes again.

It was almost noon, and the sun was rising higher and higher, making it a bit too hot.

"Didn't you put on sunscreen?" Chen Lu asked, thinking that this silly girl probably didn't; she wouldn't be willing to buy something like that.

I was careless and forgot about it; I didn't buy it for her in advance.

"No," the girl replied matter-of-factly.

"Be careful not to get a tan. I always feel that girls get tanned more easily."

"Will you still like me if I get a darker complexion?"

"I like you. Your personality alone is enough to make me fall head over heels for you."

Liang Zhirou felt embarrassed and could only gently scold him, "You have no shame."

Chen Lu only said the nice things. She could tell that Chen Lu was very greedy. She liked him so much, but that wasn't enough. He had to like her to an extreme degree to be satisfied.

Unfortunately, Chen Lu didn't know that she had already fallen madly in love with him.

"Plus, you're so beautiful, I dream about how to marry you every day."

"Okay... go fishing."

The girl dared not listen anymore; her heart was pounding, afraid that Chen Lu would hear her.

If Chen Lu continued talking, she was afraid she would lose control and marry him right now.

No, I can't. I have a ton of things to do at home, not to mention I'm not old enough yet.

"There's something wrong with the fish here; they only bite the girls' hooks," Chen Lu said angrily.

Suddenly he remembered something, closed his eyes and muttered softly, "I'd trade ten years of Jiang Chao's life for catching a fish!"

"Plus, he always hits the pity system when he draws cards!"

It wasn't that he was immoral; back then, Jiang Chao yelled in the dorm right in front of him that he'd use ten years of his lifespan to draw a role—

And sure enough, he got it the next second. It was a single pull and he got it in one go. That was Jiang Chao's luckiest time.

This left Chen Lu with severe psychological trauma.

About two minutes later, Chen Lu's float finally moved. He excitedly stood up and pulled it upwards with all his might.

The fish in this reservoir are quite strong; they struggled and swam around in the water for quite a while.

However, Chen Lu soon discovered that the size of this fish exceeded his expectations, and its strength alone made it the largest he had ever encountered.

"Liang Zhirou! Quickly, get it out of there!" he shouted excitedly.

"Ah... okay."

Liang Zhirou had never done this before, and she awkwardly picked up the net and stood by the water to reach for it.

The fish she caught herself was actually caught by Chen Lu; she was a bit clumsy trying to do it herself.

Unfortunately, the fish seemed to sense it and kept moving around, keeping a safe distance.

Generally speaking, experienced anglers won't fight this kind of fish. They will reel in the line from time to time, waiting for the fish to exhaust itself before suddenly yanking it up.
