Chapter 233 Oscar Best Actor Candidate

Chen Lu returned from the pet hospital in just over half an hour.

"Where's the cat?" Liang Zhirou tilted her head and asked curiously.

"I left it at the pet store." Chen Lu hung the clothes on the hanger. "The wound is a bit infected, so I just left it there for now. We can't treat it anyway."

He secretly rejoiced that he had been careful enough to take the cat to the vet, where the cat's injuries were much more serious than they appeared.

I didn't know much about cat breeds before, but after asking around, I found out it was a British Shorthair.

Chen Lu had taken home a cat that was actually quite expensive on the market for free, but then had to pay for vet visits, vaccinations, and future cat food. For a moment, Chen Lu couldn't figure out if he had actually made a profit.

As he spoke, he picked up the box that was next to his feet and brought it to Liang Zhirou. He opened the box, and inside was an automatic feeder.

"Look how fun this thing is, it automatically dispenses cat food at the designated time."

As he fiddled with it, he said with a look of novelty, "In the future, if we have any problems or go on a long trip, we won't need to find someone to take care of it. The cat can eat by itself. Look, you can even set the time and how many times a day to feed it on your phone."

Liang Zhirou came up and felt the texture of the pure white, trash can-shaped feeder. Her pretty face was full of doubt. "I probably won't go out, right? Even if your company is very busy, I come here every day after class. I spend a lot of time here."

"But it can feed automatically..."

Chen Lu realized halfway through his explanation that he was being a bit silly, but this kind of "IQ tax" (a slang term for paying for something you're not really into) was really cool. How many guys could resist any product with "smart" in its name? Who wouldn't want to be Tony Stark?

Liang Zhirou couldn't help but smile slightly.

Her boyfriend can be quite childish sometimes, but she's used to it.

Isn't it cute?

"Is there anything else I need to buy?" the girl asked softly. Even though she liked saving money, she didn't criticize Chen Lu for buying something that was a waste of his intelligence.

As long as Chen Lu is happy, that's enough.

"I've already ordered cat litter, a bathtub, shampoo, and all sorts of other things from the pet store," Chen Lu said softly. "This cat is quite well-behaved; I don't think it needs a cage, just a cat bed will do."

"But I didn't buy a cat bed. You can pick one you think looks nice."

Liang Zhirou nodded gently, keeping the matter in mind.

The two of them were somewhat like parents waiting for their child to be born. Before the child was even born, they had already prepared all sorts of random things, both useful and not useful.

The name hasn't been chosen yet because Chen Lu said that you can't feel anything without looking at the cat in person, and Liang Zhirou wholeheartedly agrees.

Although the two of them were secretly having a great time imagining what they would name their future child.

Liang Zhirou still seemed a little embarrassed, "I have no experience raising cats, and I just dragged you into it..."

"You don't need any experience to raise it. You'll know how after raising it for a while," Chen Lu said nonchalantly, just trying to make the silly cat happy. "The cat isn't a newborn, and we're both of normal intelligence. We won't cause any problems."

“Probably not… I raised a sparrow when I was little.” Liang Zhirou said slowly, as if she was immersed in her memories. “It seems to have fallen from the bird’s nest. When I found it, it didn’t have any feathers yet. I would share some of my millet porridge with it every time I ate. I never thought it would actually grow up.”

"Then what?"

"After it learned to fly, it flew away on its own without saying goodbye to me..." Liang Zhirou's expression turned somewhat aggrieved. "It didn't even come back to see me."

Chen Lu couldn't help but chuckle at Liang Zhirou's words and comforted her, "Maybe it comes to see you often, but it flies above your head, so you might not be able to notice it, and even if you see it, you might not recognize it."

After all, he had visited her at the place where this simpleton worked so many times, and she always kept her head down and worked diligently, so he never noticed her presence even once.

As he spoke, he pinched the girl's cheek again. "Actually, I also have experience raising animals. Chen Mo raised rabbits a couple of years ago, and I helped take care of them."

"I didn't see it when I went to your house?" Liang Zhirou found it strange, as rabbits shouldn't have such a short lifespan.

"She ate it."

Chen Lulu said expressionlessly, he never expected that Chen Mo never intended to keep him as a pet from the beginning, but only to feed him.

They even said that since they raised the children themselves, they could eat them with peace of mind.

That day, the family of four at the dinner table, except for him who had developed genuine feelings, all enjoyed the meal.

Liang Zhirou: "......"

Even though this action perfectly matched Liang Zhirou's impression of Chen Mo, it still made her shudder.

......

Liang Zhirou is very proactive and quickly returned to her computer to study videos about cat care tips.

Chen Lu sank into the beanbag chair and continued reading his latest book, *Foundation*.

Just as he was engrossed in his work, he suddenly heard Liang Zhirou shout urgently, "What should I do, Chen Lu? They've started chatting in the comments section of my post..."

Upon hearing this, Chen Lu curiously leaned over to take a look.

It's true, refreshing the page brings up several comments.

"Damn, Mu Zhimu must be a beautiful girl, okay? I can tell just by looking at her eyes!"

"I feel the same way. To be honest, her aura alone is captivating. She must be a great beauty."

"Really? No picture, no proof."

"That's true, but the random passerby next to her wouldn't let us take pictures."

Chen Lu's lips twitched slightly. "Heh, just another passerby."
