Chapter 267 New Neighbors

Chen Lu left the house and drove straight to Professor Yin's house.

It was during the Spring Festival, and he didn't intend to stay long, but he still had to show his face.

After all, regardless of whether the old professor is willing to help or not, being able to connect with someone of that caliber is certainly not a bad thing.

The door opened after only two knocks.

Professor Yin maintained his indifferent expression. He paused for a moment upon seeing him, then nodded silently and turned to return to the living room.

"Change your shoes, the housekeeper just mopped the floor."

Two seconds later, he added, "You should wear those black ones."

Upon hearing this, Chen Lu looked down and saw that these slippers were completely different from the ones he had seen before; they were obviously newly bought.

The old man was quite arrogant.

He sat down on the sofa and looked around blankly.

Contrary to Chen Lu's expectations, Grandpa Yin's house was surprisingly quiet, with him all alone during the Lunar New Year.

That's strange. Shouldn't people of this caliber be inundated with visitors during the Chinese New Year?

Even if things don't go well, Grandpa Yin is already this old, shouldn't he have four generations living under one roof by now?

"Stop looking, I've chased them all away," Professor Yin interrupted, sounding slightly impatient.

Where is your child?

"We didn't let them come back."

Chen Lu paused for a moment, and seeing that the old man was reluctant to talk about it, he simply stopped discussing the topic.

Actually, he felt a little guilty, after all, he had come to ask for a favor, but he was just patient.

However, in theory, Old Master Yin should have known about his little scheme.

As he was pondering this, a huge pile of documents and books was suddenly thrown onto the coffee table, all spread out in front of him.

Chen Lu's eyes widened, and he swallowed hard. "Teacher, it's only just after the New Year. I'm just here to pay my respects. I'll leave after I make an appearance."

He's only in the second year of junior high today. Even senior high students are struggling to keep up with their studies. How come a graduate is suddenly having to take extra classes?

College students only know that they can eat three bowls of rice in one meal, let alone someone who has already graduated.

Professor Yin snorted coldly, his face darkening, and said, "These are all things you can use to start your company. If you don't study them properly, you won't even know how you'll get ripped off later."

"You're a law school graduate, isn't it embarrassing to ask the legal department about everything?"

Chen Lu grinned and took a closer look, only to find that most of the items on the table were cases of games being maliciously imitated or having their data stolen.

It's not just from previous years... it even includes files from the early 2000s when the domestic internet and gaming industry was just starting out.

"Take a look at the latest one. This is a transnational lawsuit. Although neither party is a game company, it is still a dispute over creative copyright."

Professor Yin put on his glasses and pushed up the frames with two fingers. "This time, a foreign company directly stole the operational data of a domestic company. You've been learning from me for a while now, so tell me, if it were you in charge, how would you start?"

“I heard about this case when I was in class. My teacher also said that the lawyer who was involved in this case was very famous abroad.”

Chen Lu's tone carried a hint of admiration, after all, this person was someone even his teacher admired.

"Those are my students," Old Master Yin said calmly, his tone completely flat.

"......"

Chen Lu fell silent.

Professor Yin's image in his mind inexplicably became even more lofty.

After all, strictly speaking, this was the teacher of his teacher's idol...

Realizing what he had just said, he was suddenly overjoyed. He had never told Old Master Yin the specific details of this matter concerning his company.

This clearly shows that they specifically looked into it.

Who knows, the old man might actually be willing to help him?

Even if they don't want to, just being able to use the old man's name is enough to give the other party a hard time in court.

Not long after he was happy, Chen Lu slumped on the sofa with a look of utter despair, as if to say, "Even if you kill me, I still need to rest for a while."

Seeing his expression, Professor Yin suddenly said, "You must pass the bar exam this year, do you hear me?"

"Huh?" Chen Lu couldn't shake this habit of his, which was influenced by Liang Zhirou.

"You little brat, what are you 'ah'ing about?"

Professor Yin rolled up his book and slapped him on the shoulder. "Now everyone knows you're always showing up at my house. What will I do when people see that you, a brat, didn't even pass the bar exam? How will I save face?"

Chen Lu chuckled, "Grandpa, what would you like to eat for lunch?"

"Didn't you say you were just here to show your face and then leave?" Professor Yin glanced at him.

"Oh well, it won't make a difference if it's just a little while longer." Chen Lu noticed that the area was rather deserted and felt a bit awkward about leaving immediately.

"Let's talk about dinner later. Do you know how to play chess?"

"I know a little."

Professor Yin pulled a chess set out of his drawer and said expressionlessly, "If you really only know a little bit, then fine, but don't come crying to me later saying I bullied you."

......

After an unknown amount of time, the old man's roar suddenly rang out from the balcony.

"You're making this look so fake!"

"I really didn't let them go; I genuinely didn't let them go this game. How could I possibly win every single one?"

"I don't believe you, let's try again!"

......

Inside the rented room.

"So busy... and you're not even replying to my messages."

Liang Zhirou lay listlessly on the table, puffing out her cheeks as she poked at Chen Lu's profile picture.

Seeing that Chen Lu still didn't respond, she sighed softly and gently stroked Duo Duo, who was lying on the table.

"Duoduo, I miss him so much."

"Meow?"

Duo Duo thought to herself that the two-legged creatures were really stupid; men would only slow down its speed of rummaging through the trash can.
