The little girl opened her mouth and ate it, and stopped crying much.
"You shouldn't eat candy given to you by strangers."
After giving her instructions, Liang Zhirou felt something was off and said somewhat awkwardly, "But you're a good person, so please take it and eat it this time."
"Um."
Seeing that she had finally spoken to her, Liang Zhirou quickly continued to ask, "Did you get separated from your parents?"
"...I came out on my own."
"Where do you live? Let me take you home."
She seemed oblivious to the fact that her own hair was already soaked by the rain as she carefully tidied the girl's hair.
“My home is in Donghu Garden…” The little girl slowly lowered her eyes, “I don’t want to go home.”
Liang Zhirou was stunned. The place wasn't far from the rented house, which meant it would take at least thirty minutes to drive there.
"Don't think that just because your sister looks stupid you're trying to fool me. I know where that place is," Liang Zhirou said, her little face prickly.
The little girl spoke haltingly, “I walked here by myself. It’s very close to my grandma’s house. I walked to my grandma’s house first, and then I walked here after watching the Ferris wheel.”
Liang Zhirou was dumbfounded.
For a moment, I didn't know whether to feel a sense of awe at how dangerous it was, or to feel ashamed that such a young person could walk so far while I, at my age, am still half-directionally challenged.
After a lot of effort and a long chat, Liang Zhirou finally understood the cause and effect.
This little girl's name is Shen Xingyan. She came out today because her parents are going through a divorce. They promised to come to the amusement park with her but didn't, and then... then she came by herself.
The little girl started crying again as she spoke, and she couldn't stop.
“Maybe Mom and Dad are just arguing…no matter what happens now.” Liang Zhirou gently held the girl’s hand. “You must believe that the future is really bright, I promise you.”
"But I hate my mom and dad."
"My dad drinks a lot of alcohol every day before coming home. Then my mom argues with him, and it keeps me awake."
Once she started talking, Shen Xingyan became much more talkative:
"My friends at kindergarten told me that their dads are like that too. Are all dads in the world the same?"
Liang Zhirou wiped away the little girl's tears and said gently, "Maybe so. Actually, I don't know either."
"Huh? Why?"
"elder sister......"
Liang Zhirou lowered her head, a bitter smile playing on her lips.
"My sister doesn't have a father."
