There wasn't much else to talk about since the New Year had just passed. The group had all been doing relatively well since their last meal together, so they listened intently as Jiang Chao recounted the hardships and twists and turns of meeting his father-in-law until they were full and satisfied.
Chen Lu was quite popular with his future mother-in-law from the very beginning. He had never experienced such a bumpy journey before, so it sounded quite novel to him.
"Anyway, from beginning to end, my father-in-law never said anything to me about not bullying his daughter."

That silly goose is probably staring at his phone again, refusing to come back even when urged.
Jiang Chao's phone has been ringing non-stop.
He sighed softly and slowly stood up. "I'm leaving now."
"Going back already? It's rare for the three of us to have nothing to do, why don't we go to an internet cafe and stay up all night?" Jiang Chao asked, clearly forgetting that he had just been scolded by Liu Yan a minute ago.
"I can't go back too late, there are people waiting at home." Chen Lu raised an eyebrow.
"You were born the same way."
Jiang Chao and Li Sinian cursed in unison.
"thump!"
"What's that hanging sound...?"
Before Jiang Chao could even utter the word, he heard someone shouting from the other side of the bridge.
"Someone jumped into the river!"
