...
Most of the winter vacation passed uneventfully, and before we knew it, it was New Year's Eve.
On the eve of the transition between the old and new years, Hangzhou was blanketed in a heavy snowfall.
The snow was very thick, and as far as the eye could see, everything was covered in white. The surroundings were all covered in silver, but it made the rows of big red lanterns on the street look exceptionally bright.
The family went to Chen Guanglin's place for dinner as usual. Because of the heavy snow and the approaching Spring Festival, Chen Lu couldn't find a parking spot after searching for a long time, so he had to park the car far away and then walk over together.
A cold wind blew, and Chen Lu watched his breath gradually dissipate with boredom as he slowly walked beside Liang Zhirou.
Chen Muxue is now only half a head shorter than Liang Zhirou. She is holding Liang Zhirou's arm with both hands, and the mother and daughter are chatting and laughing, being extremely affectionate.
He glanced at the two of them and began to mentally calculate how many days were left before these two little third wheels went off to university. All they did was waste his time with Liang Zhirou.
"Mom, how did you and Dad get together?" Chen Muxue suddenly asked.
Liang Zhirou tilted her head back and pondered for a moment, then a faint smile appeared on her face: "Well... I like him, and he likes me too, so we got together."
"I was the one who confessed to you," she added proudly, though Chen Lu couldn't understand what she was so proud of.
“What’s there to ask?” Chen Lu, who was walking beside me, suddenly interjected. “Your dad is so handsome, your mom would probably want to pack herself up and give herself to me the moment she saw me, and then I would reluctantly agree. It’s that simple. It could be written in a few hundred words in a novel.”
Chen Muxue blinked blankly; it was as if the two of them hadn't said anything at all.
Aside from Chen Lu, no one understands Liang Zhirou's personality better than her, her daughter. Moreover, judging from old photos, her mother was definitely much more repressed back then, and certainly not as cheerful as she is now.
To put it bluntly, I always felt that my mother had a very miserable past...
So she was willing to bet that their love story was definitely not that simple, but unfortunately, the two of them didn't talk about it much usually.
"You've hardly ever told me anything about your childhood." Chen Muxue's face fell.
“Because it’s all in the past.” Liang Zhirou said with a slight smile, as if it were a matter of course. “There are some things that you might not be happy to hear, so there’s no need to talk about them.”
After she finished speaking, she put her index finger to her lips and gently shushed the two children. Then she gradually slowed down and let Chen Lu walk to the front.
Chen Lu was still playing with the hot air and didn't notice that he was being isolated.
"Honey~"
After a while, the girl behind him suddenly called out softly.
Chen Lu turned around with a smile, just about to ask what was wrong.
Suddenly, a snowball the size of a fist was thrown all over my face.
