Chen Muxue had long ago made up her mind about one thing—
Mothers are the gentlest people in the world.
They have endless patience with them, always speak softly, and never lose their temper.
That's why she begged Liang Zhirou to attend this parent-teacher meeting, because there was a chance she would survive.
On the day of the parents' meeting.
"Mom, why haven't I ever taken any extracurricular classes?"
Walking down the street, Chen Muxue suddenly remembered this incident.
Jiang Nan's older sister has always seemed very busy, and these past few days she hasn't even had time to go out and play with them. But aside from doing her homework, she has absolutely nothing to do during her vacation.
"Because you didn't say you wanted to learn it." Liang Zhirou thought Chen Muxue was complaining, so she quickly asked, "What do you want to learn? Mom will sign you up right away."
"I don't want to learn anything!"
Chen Muxue waved her hands repeatedly, saying that it would be better to kill her than to let her end up like Jiang Nan.
Liang Zhirou gently tapped Chen Muxue's forehead with her index finger and said with a light smile, "Just as lazy as your dad."
"I want to learn to paint!" Chen Yunqi walked ahead and suddenly turned around.
"Mommy will teach you, okay?"
"Uh-huh."
"Does Yunqi want to study art when he grows up?" Liang Zhirou asked curiously. If he wanted to draw illustrations, she was more than capable of teaching her son. She could even confidently say that most people were not as good as their mother.
But she's not very good at teaching watercolor or oil painting.
"When I grow up, I want to..."
Chen Yunqi hesitated for a moment, scratched his cheek, and was too embarrassed to say anything.
Chen Muxue watched her brother stammering, then suddenly, as if she had seen through everything, she raised her chin and let out a soft snort.
...
To allow both parents and students to attend, the homeroom teacher specially applied to the school for a lecture hall, which was soon filled to capacity.
Out of curiosity, Chen Yunqi craned his neck and looked around. As before, most of his classmates were accompanied by their mothers, with only a very few accompanied by their fathers or grandparents.
His mother was indeed the most beautiful woman there; she looked to be a completely different age from everyone else.
Although Mom was even more nervous than the students who didn't do well on the test...
Let's take a look at my sister's side.
Chen Yunqi turned his head and saw that Jiang Nan was also looking at him.
Their eyes met. Jiang Nan looked at him calmly for a moment, then suddenly turned to look at the blackboard.
Then he saw Liu Yan's godmother looking at him with a half-smile.
Chen Yunqi suddenly shuddered and quickly turned his head away.
Liu Yan: "??"
What's wrong with this kid? Is her smile really that scary?
Noticing Liu Yan looking in their direction, Liang Zhirou waved gently to her as a greeting. She took two deep breaths before looking up at the podium.
The homeroom teacher was a middle-aged woman who looked to be in her thirties or forties. She was dressed in a black suit, wore square-framed glasses, and looked somewhat serious.
After a few brief remarks, some expert from who-knows-where came up on stage to give a speech, talking about how difficult it is for parents, and it sounded like some kind of gratitude education. We were even asked to write letters to parents while listening.
Liang Zhirou listened in a daze, her gaze gradually becoming blank.
After noticing that many parents and students around her were crying their eyes out, she felt even more lost.
She's usually such a crybaby, but at this moment she seemed a bit out of place.
After staring at her indifferent son and daughter for a moment, she finally decided to ask Chen Lu what was going on.
Leung Chi-Yau: There's actually someone giving a speech, and a lot of people are crying.
Chen Lu: Just watch, the books will be selling soon.
Chen Lu: Our child didn't cry, did he?
Liang Zhirou: No, they were playing rock-paper-scissors on the side. The loser gets slapped... Yunqi kept losing and almost cried.
Chen Lu: It seems they're not that stupid.
This is really unbelievable. This happened when he was in school, and it's still happening now that his kids are in school.
Like Chen Lu, Chen Muxue thought this kind of activity was idiotic, and the so-called expert who gave the speech on stage was even more idiotic.
It's so lame and pathetic, like a clown.
Ironically, a group of people could actually be brought to tears by these words, and then they would cry and say that they would work hard, but by tomorrow they would still not study hard.
After thinking about it, she decided to keep the letter simple.
After all, it would be difficult for Mom to read if I wrote too much.
After a while, Liang Zhirou finally got what she had been looking forward to for a long time.
Looking at the envelope lying on the table, she quickly took a few deep breaths.
This is the first letter her daughter has ever written to her.
Hmph, she's going to take this letter back to Chen Lu and let him be envious.
After mentally preparing herself, Liang Zhirou carefully tucked the stray hairs behind her ears and opened her hair.
[A Letter to Parents]
Below is a line written in very neat and beautiful handwriting:
[Mom, please keep an eye on it for a while, don't let the teacher find out I haven't written anything.]
"..."
Liang Zhirou pursed her lips, suddenly feeling more like crying than the other parents.
Fortunately, Chen Yunqi wrote very carefully, which somewhat soothed her wounded heart.
On the other side, Liu Yan looked at the certificate and reached out to pat Jiang Nan's head: "Second place is also great, what kind of reward do you want?"
Jiang Nan lowered her eyes and remained silent for a while, before finally shaking her head slowly.
Actually, she wanted to rest...
I'm so tired.
After the parent-teacher meeting, Liang Zhirou realized that there was no speech required, which suited her perfectly.
Just as she was about to leave, the homeroom teacher suddenly kept her and the two children behind alone.
“It used to be the father of the two children who came,” the homeroom teacher said with a slight smile.
