After buying groceries, the couple returned home and began preparing a meal.
Chen Lu felt quite novel about it. He had been fantasizing about it when they went grocery shopping together last time, and now he could actually hold this silly guy's hand while grocery shopping.
That's great.
After calling his parents to find out their location and confirming that it would be a while, he ran into the kitchen to help Liang Zhirou.
Upon hearing the strange noise, Chen Mo excitedly pressed his ear to the door to listen before peeking out with a puzzled expression.
What are you doing?
"Cooking, of course," Chen Lu replied matter-of-factly.
"Do you want to cook?" Chen Mo ran out excitedly. She loved Chen Lu's cooking, and usually he would only cook for her after she begged him for a long time.
"Your sister-in-law. Let me tell you, she's an amazing cook."
Liang Zhirou had clearly given up struggling, and upon hearing Chen Lu's words, she simply continued doing her own thing.
Chen Mo's expression became even more agitated, but she didn't speak. Instead, she pointed to the rice that Chen Lu had rinsed and then to the rice cooker.
Chen Lu smiled at her and said, "Get lost."
With such a righteous family tradition, how did we end up with a female bandit like you?
After his suggestion was ruthlessly refuted, Chen Mo had no choice but to sullenly go to the sofa, cross his legs, and start watching videos.
Chen Lu gave Chen Mo the middle finger, then turned and went back to the kitchen.
At this moment, Liang Zhirou once again tied her hair into a ponytail for easy work, which made Chen Lu unable to resist gently squeezing it.
"Just make something simple, we can't eat that much," Chen Lu said while washing the vegetables. This simpleton is sometimes like a little ox, he never stops when he gets going.

Liang Zhirou felt very relaxed from beginning to end because Chen Lu never gave her a chance to do much work, taking care of everything he could.

Chen Lu had a better chance to pinch her cheek, "You're so cute, who else would I bully if not you?"
"Then you can only bully me."
The girl said timidly, "Other girls may not be able to cook as well as I do."
It took Chen Lu a while to understand. This silly guy seemed to have said something like "Other girls might not be as easy to bully as me" before.
He looks very insecure.
"Don't worry." Chen Lu held the girl's hands and smiled at her. "I only like you."
"My girlfriend is so great, I wouldn't even glance at other girls."
Liang Zhirou seemed surprised that Chen Lu would hit such a direct shot, and she was so nervous that she didn't know what to do, so she unconsciously leaned back.
Then, somewhat shyly, he nodded, his heart overflowing with joy.
"Your boyfriend is so great, shouldn't you give him a reward?" Chen Lu asked shamelessly.
Liang Zhirou turned the heat up a little. "What...what reward do you want?"
"It's up to you."
The girl took a deep breath. "Then close your eyes."
"You want me to close my eyes again?" Chen Lu complained. "You know how unsafe it is to close your eyes?"
Although it was a little bit stimulating.
"If you don't close your eyes, you won't get the reward," Liang Zhirou said, fiddling with her fingers.
No way! It's better to kill Chen Lu than to leave her with her eyes open.
"Okay, okay."
Something is better than nothing, so Chen Lu stopped being picky, simply closed his eyes, and even consciously raised his neck.
After an unknown amount of time, a pair of soft lips pressed against his cheek and gave him a light, wet kiss.
When he opened his eyes, the girl was already cooking, as if nothing had happened.
"Liang Zhirou," Chen Lu called softly.
"What's wrong..." Liang Zhirou trembled as if she had been caught stealing flowers. She didn't dare to turn around, afraid that Chen Lu would retaliate in anger and kiss her wildly.
Recalling the feeling from just now, Chen Lu joked, "You got it for free?"
Liang Zhirou felt inexplicably guilty after hearing what he said, "No, I didn't."
"Then let me kiss you back."

"Hurry up, hurry up."
"I even kissed you first!" Liang Zhirou begged Chen Lu for mercy, saying, "I'll cede five cities today and ten more tomorrow."
"Yes, I can kiss you on my own initiative."
The two were playfully bickering in the kitchen until the sound of the door opening in the entryway rang out, at which point Chen Lu cleared his throat and went out.
Liang Zhirou quickly tidied up her slightly disheveled hair, her face flushed slightly.
It seems Chen Lu succeeded just now, giving her a light kiss on the cheek.
She took a deep breath and was surprisingly happy to find that she wasn't so scared anymore.
