"I was playing video games," Chen Lu lied without batting an eye, unconsciously shifting to the side as if afraid the girl would listen to his heartbeat again.
He almost got boiled again, but luckily he reacted quickly.
"Let me buy you some pajamas," Chen Lu said, changing the subject. "How about we get matching couple sets?"
Do I need to buy pajamas for an afternoon nap?
How can you be so sure it's just a nap?
While Chen Lu was thinking to himself, he said something else entirely: "Of course, it's comfortable to wear pajamas. This is also part of the plan. Learning to spend wisely is also a way to enjoy life. You're much wealthier than before, so you should spend a little when necessary."
"We need to save money," the girl whispered.
Chen Lu patted the DSLR camera on the coffee table. "You're willing to buy this camera, but you're unwilling to spend some money on yourself?"
"It's okay, I'm used to it." Liang Zhirou continued to lean against Chen Lu, poking his stomach with her little hand from time to time.
Chen Lu stroked the girl's head with mixed feelings, running her long hair down to her waist. "Habits can be changed. How could you be so foolish as to buy such nice things for others but be so stingy with yourself?"
“You’ve already worked hard enough. From now on, try to be happy with your boyfriend.” Chen Lu’s tone was very gentle. “Although there’s still a long road ahead, we won’t be young forever. If we want to enjoy life when we’re old, we won’t have the same interest.”
Under Chen Lu's deception and trickery, the girl finally accepted his suggestion.
Summer nightgowns were a bit too early for Liang Zhirou, so she looked at the prices and styles, carefully choosing a short-sleeved shirt and long pants that were reasonably priced.
It's a shame the clothes are cardigan; it makes it too easy for Chen Lu to act like a hooligan...
"I'm going to sleep now." Liang Zhirou glanced at the time; it was already past midnight without her realizing it.
Chen Lu got up with her, but he went to another room.
The two stopped at the door of their respective rooms without prior arrangement.
"Lock the door if you want, but my door is always open for you," Chen Lu said with a mischievous grin. "Liang Zhirou, if you're scared when it thunders outside, you can come to my room."
"Good night."
Just as Chen Lu finished speaking and was about to go inside, the girl grabbed his arm.
"What's wrong?" he asked curiously.
"I'm your girlfriend..."
Liang Zhirou's voice trailed off, "Could you please use a different form of address?"
"Change the way you address me?" Chen Lu was a little taken aback.
"How about we remove the surname?" the girl asked, biting her lip. She felt a little awkward calling her by her full name all the time, and she didn't want Chen Lu to call her that.
