It must be said that Lin Miaomiao is a true doer.
Saying something like, "I saw someone advertising for rent when I passed by your house, so I rented it," is something most people wouldn't say, let alone actually do.
There are different ages for being childish. At most, elementary school students will clamor to be deskmates with their best friends, but she went and moved in with Liang Zhirou without saying a word.
In a broader sense, this is the result of being used to being carefree since childhood. The starting point for doing things is entirely based on whether they are happy or not, without considering anything else, and they still have a childish temper.
They are the opposite extremes of Liang Zhirou.
To be honest, Chen Lu was really hoping that Liang Zhirou could learn something from her best friend. He had been worried about how to untangle her knots in her heart these past two days.
If we really leave it to time, it would really make him seem like a useless boyfriend.
After all, nobody knows how long that would take—a year, two years? Or even eight or ten years?
When that time comes, it will be meaningless whether these knots in our hearts are untied or not.
By then, you will no longer be young, and you will have passed the age when you have the most energy to enjoy life.
Time lost is time lost, and no one will give it back to you.
Liang Zhirou found it strange that Chen Lu was in a daze, but Chen Lu often fell into this strange state, so she didn't ask any questions. She just took the initiative to put her coat on him.
The two changed their clothes and went downstairs, checking the sign according to the building number sent by Lin Miaomiao.
Goodness, the two buildings are right next to each other.
Lin Miaomiao rented an apartment on the fourth floor.
As soon as she opened the door, Chen Lu saw that the living room was almost filled with boxes of all sizes.
It's more than twice the size of the place he moved to back then, and I wonder if she's ever thought about how she'll move out.
"You're the only one in the whole country who gets the boss and his wife to help with the move," Chen Lu retorted coldly.
This guy, relying on being the boss's only best friend, has probably already reached the pinnacle of being a working-class person.
How many people in the world would dare to treat their boss like that?
Watching anime and playing games during work hours, constantly using accompanying the boss's wife to class as an excuse to be late or leave early, and even going so far as to play games in his office because he complained about his computer's specs, forcing the boss out of his office...
Oh right, and he also kissed the boss's wife in public.
The original charges were alright, but thinking about this made Chen Lu feel a surge of anger.
Damn it, I'll have to find a reason to deduct her salary when we start work on the seventh day of the Lunar New Year.
"It's not like I really need your help to move. Just help me pack my things. If I try to handle all this stuff myself, I won't be able to finish by tomorrow."
Lin Miaomiao, completely unaware of what she was about to experience, casually brushed the dust off her hands and stepped aside to let them in. "Speaking of which, what's wrong with Chen Mo lately? I was going to ask her to come and help me, but she actually said she wanted to study?"
That girl actually keeps talking about studying; it's just as exaggerated as Liang Zhirou suddenly pinning Chen Lu to the bed one day.
Chen Lu pondered for a moment, then shook his head. "I don't know either. I'll ask when I have time."
Although, given Chen Mo's temperament, she would most likely just make up an excuse if she didn't want to help, she seems to be acting a bit strange lately. A couple of days ago when I came home, I saw her holding a book the whole time.
It's impossible for someone to suddenly become a lover of learning, unless they're struck by lightning.
The two houses have the same floor plan, only the orientation is different, as if they are symmetrical along a dotted line in the middle.
As the two girls unpacked their bags, Chen Lu looked around curiously.
Then he saw the window of Liang Zhirou's bedroom from one of the bedrooms.
Only then did he realize that Lin Miaomiao's rented apartment was not only right across from theirs, but her bedroom and balcony were also directly opposite each other, so they might be able to see each other if they waved at night.
"No, Lin Liushui, are you a pervert? Don't get a telescope and spy on us here one day." He deliberately leaned out and shouted loudly.
Lin Miaomiao gritted her teeth. "This is the only unit in this complex that's still being rented out! Do you think houses near schools are so easy to rent out?!"
"That's insane."
Chen Lu seemed not to hear her words and continued to berate himself. This was practically a real-life version of blocking someone out and then mocking them, which infuriated Lin Miaomiao so much that she kept urging Liang Zhirou to teach him a lesson in the living room.
"Zhirou! You can't spoil your boyfriend. He needs to be disciplined!" Lin Miaomiao said fiercely. "If you don't find a way to teach him a lesson now, see how he bullies you in the future!"
Seeing Lin Miaomiao's furious expression, Liang Zhirou nodded blankly and clenched her fist at her, "Okay, I'll go beat him up."
In the bedroom.
"Why did you come here?" Chen Lu asked as he caught a glimpse of Liang Zhirou quietly walking up to him with her hands behind her back.
"I'm going to beat you up."
Liang Zhirou said softly that when she saw Chen Lu bring his cheek closer, she tilted her head up and gave him a light peck.
"Next time you kiss me at home, remember to draw the curtains first, so that no one with ulterior motives can see it," Chen Lu whispered with a wicked smile in the girl's ear.
Liang Zhirou puffed out her cheeks at him, "I... I didn't kiss you on my own initiative."
My mother always said that girls should be reserved.
Even when she initiates a kiss, it's usually when Chen Lu is asleep...
Chen Lu continued to mute all chat messages, then reached out and knocked on the window. "You see, privacy is very important, so let's buy a nice villa to live in after we get married."
"So expensive..." Liang Zhirou imitated Chen Lu's actions earlier, leaning closer to his ear and whispering, "I can't afford much money right now."
"It doesn't matter, anyway, nowadays the money for buying a house after marriage is paid by the man."
