Do you want to eat?

Do you want to eat?

The English teacher was teaching the English final exam for last semester tonight. She had just started teaching the first reading passage when Chen Songyan walked in from behind.

In high school, students didn't need to report being late; they were allowed in directly. Because tardiness was rare, most teachers simply gave them a casual quip and let them off. Unfortunately, tonight's class was taught by our homeroom teacher, Ding Jie. She stood at the multimedia podium, glaring at Chen Songyan unkindly.

As soon as Chen Songyan sat down, Ding Jie immediately asked, "Chen Songyan, where have you been? You came in just before class! And you ignored both bells?"

Chen Songyan looked for the test paper silently and didn't dare to speak.

"Your ranking dropped by over fifty places on the final exam last semester. Didn't you reflect on it after you got home? Now that the school has just started, you're already like this. Do you want to continue to fall behind?"

Seeing that he remained silent, Ding Jie assumed that he had heard her words and did not continue to scold him. She just said, "Don't be late again" and continued to explain the topic.

Wen Jing glanced at Chen Songyan. His face looked very ugly, and his ears were unusually red.

Ding Jie has always been serious. Her class has the most serious atmosphere in the class. She had just scolded someone, so no one in the class dared to whisper to each other. Apart from the sound of Ding Jie teaching, nothing else could be heard in the class.

After finally getting through the get out of class, Wen Jing felt relieved. Suddenly, Ding Jie called her name: "Come with me to the office."

Thinking of the ten extra essays she was assigned, Wen Jing knew that what was coming had finally come.

She sighed and followed Ding Jie out of the classroom.

As soon as she left, Zhou Meng from the front row came over and asked, "No, what's going on with you two tonight? Why were you both called out by Sister Ding?"

Chen Songyan said coldly, "I don't know."

"No, Chen Songyan, do you really need to do that? You're still angry because of what Sister Ding said. Why are you so stingy today?"

Chen Die, who knew the truth, interrupted him and said, "Hey, stop talking."

Zhou Meng snorted and turned the topic to Wen Jing: "Wen Jing's subject is biased, and she has the experience of being both a top student and a poor student at the same time."

Wen Jing is well-known throughout the school for her academic bias. She always gets the highest score in science in every exam, and occasionally even gets full marks, but she can't even make it into the top ten in the grade.

She even single-handedly brought Class 20's physics score to the top three, on par with two particularly important classes, but she couldn't improve her English score, which was always at the bottom.

Although her Chinese grades were average, since everyone's Chinese grades were average overall, it wouldn't add much to her score, so no one cared.

But in English, she was 30 to 40 points behind the rest of the school.

If she could improve her English, it would only take a few minutes for her to be in the top ten or even top three in her grade.

The problem is that after one semester, her English grades haven't improved at all.

"Sister Ding is so angry. She has long regarded Wen Jing as a thorn in her side and calls her out at every turn. Now she is called to the office at the beginning of the school year. I guess Wen Jing will have a hard time this semester." Chen Die commented from the side.

"I understand Sister Ding very well. Who can tolerate having a top-notch student in his class who scores almost full marks in science but just passes in English?" Zhou Meng said.

"I don't know how Wen Jing learned English. I never see her asking other classmates for advice."

"The English class representative often comes to see her, so they must help each other."

The two of them were talking back and forth when Wen Jing came in quietly from the back door.

Chen Die didn't hide it and asked her directly: "What does Sister Ding want you to do?"

Wen Jing felt slightly tired: "Is it just a perfunctory response to tell her that those ten essays I wrote during the holiday were terrible?"

Chen Die, Zhou Meng: "..."

Wen Jing was actually quite wronged. She hated learning English, and writing English essays was the thing she hated most in her life. She had already tried her best to finish those ten essays during the holiday.

But looking at Ding Jie's reaction, it was as if she was trying her best to poop out ten piles of shit.

"Or, why don't you ask me about the English questions you usually can't do?" Chen Die said a little shyly, feeling ashamed of showing off in front of the academic master.

"You can also ask me." Zhou Meng said, looking a little embarrassed.

There was no way. Even though Wen Jing was at the bottom of the class in English, she was still ahead of them in the grade.

"No, my situation is rather special. Even the English teacher can't teach me."

Wen Jing understood that it was not that she did not understand the basic knowledge, she simply could not listen to it.

She feels drowsy as soon as she listens, and she gets distracted even when her English teacher is explaining the questions to her privately.

Even though she kept looking at an English vocabulary book every day, she never really got into it.

She didn't know how to correct it.

I once had an English class in the first grade of junior high school. There was a very young and beautiful English teacher in the class who could speak fluent English.

Her classes were very interesting. She always arranged some interactive sessions, which were both interesting and relaxing. During that time, Wen Jing's English score could be 135+.

But when the English teacher was in the second year of junior high school, he was poached by a private school in another city at a high price.

After that, the class got a new male English teacher who was older than me. Not only was his class boring, but his spoken English was also very poor. Wen Jing's English grades plummeted.

The key point is that the English teacher has bad personal ethics. He always gives uncomfortable-looking smiles to the pretty girls in the class. In the third year of junior high school, a scandal of molesting students was exposed. The school urgently changed their teacher, but the effect was still not good. Wen Jing hated English very much from then on.

When Wen Jing first met Ding Jie in her freshman year of high school, she had a decent impression of her. However, she immediately asked them to write college entrance examination papers and was very serious in class. Wen Jing then returned to her state of being bored with English.

How dare she tell the English teacher that it might be a problem with her teaching style.

Then how come other people learn well?

Ultimately, it's my own problem.

"Oh!" Wen Jing sighed.

That’s it, it’s enough to get into Jinan University anyway.

The bell rang and Zhou Meng returned to his seat.

Silence returned to the seat, and Wen Jing noticed that Chen Songyan hadn't said a word from beginning to end. She couldn't help but glance at him out of the corner of her eye and saw that he was pursing his lips and looked depressed.

He has a scar on his face and a shaved head. He usually looks playful and you can't tell what he's doing, but now he has a cold face and looks a bit like a gangster.

Wen Jing recalled the subtle attitudes he and Jiang Xi had towards each other, and had some vague guesses in his mind.

On the second day, Wen Jing estimated the time Jiang Xi would arrive and went to eat in advance.

I just didn't expect Jiang Xi to come early.

Wen Jingren had already gone to the cafeteria, and Chen Songyan was the only one left at the seat.

He was wearing a baseball cap and had his head lowered. Jiang Xi didn't recognize him and just walked past him.

"Classmate, do you know where Wen Jing went?" he asked.

Chen Songyan raised his head, his eyes and eyebrows looking cold and fierce.

Jiang Xi's pupils shrank slightly. He hadn't expected the other person to be Chen Songyan. His expression matched the one he had last seen in elementary school.

After a brief moment of stunned silence, Jiang Xi composed himself and sneered, "Who did you fight with again? Did someone hit you against the wall? It's retribution for what happened a few years ago."

As soon as he finished speaking, Chen Songyan stood up and grabbed his collar: "Jiang Xi, if I dare to hit you once, I will dare to hit you a second time."

At this time, there were only a few people in Class 20 still in the classroom. Only a few people in the front row were doing their homework with headphones on. No one knew what was happening behind them.

Jiang Xi stared at the person in front of him who was a few centimeters taller than him, thinking that he had grown quite fast. He used to be the same height as him, but now he had to look up at him.

I guess he has had a very comfortable life in the past few years.

It's ridiculous. When I transferred to this school, I looked so miserable, but now it seems like I'm doing better.

He felt unhappy and uttered provocative words:

"Why, you want to hit me? Go ahead, I won't fight back. But I'm afraid you'll have to transfer schools again this time."

Chen Songyan's chest was heaving violently, obviously making him angry, but after a while he let him go.

Jiang Xi let him push him back a step, still smiling: "You've really grown up. Unlike when I was little, I would easily get into trouble at the slightest word and always get my parents called in."

"That's right. You finally got into the top class of No. 1 Middle School, and you were lucky enough to sit next to the top student in science in your grade. You definitely won't want to leave."

Chen Songyan's face turned pale. "What does this have to do with you? You're not welcome here. Please don't set foot in Class 20 again, or you'll dirty the floor."

Jiang Xi smiled: "You think the classroom is your home! Besides," he glanced at Wen Jing at the back door and lowered his voice very softly, "Ask Wen Jing if she agrees."

Wen Jing had just returned from dinner and had not expected Jiang Xi to have arrived. She saw him and Chen Songyan standing face to face from a distance. He even moved closer for a moment and frowned.

"Jiang Xi!" Wen Jing called out to him, and both of them looked over at the same time.

Chen Songyan had a complicated expression on his face, and Wen Jing made him feel inexplicably uncomfortable.

She walked closer, picked up a few books, and said to Jiang Xi, "It's not so cold now. Let's go to the old place next time. You don't have to come to the classroom to find me anymore."

Jiang Xi's face was briefly gloomy, but then he smiled: "Okay, let's go to the old place. There, it's just the two of us, so it's more convenient."

When he said this, his eyes were fixed on Chen Songyan. Chen Songyan had lowered his eyes and straightened the corners of his mouth without him knowing when.

Wen Jing took the three potato pancakes in her hand and handed one to Chen Songyan: "Aren't you going to eat?"

Chen Songyan was stunned for a moment, then looked up at her. Seeing that he didn't reach out to take it, Wen Jing put it directly on his table: "This one without chili is for you."

He felt a little confused and glanced down at the two remaining ones in her hand. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Jiang Xi also staring at her.

Did you buy this for Jiang Xi?

However, the next second, Wen Jing placed both potato pancakes on Chen Die's desk.

Chen Songyan:?

He breathed a sigh of relief, and a ripple of emotion spread through his heart.

Wen Jing turned around and looked at Jiang Xi. Seeing that Jiang Xi's eyes were fixed on the potato pancakes she had placed on Chen Die's desk, she asked, "Do you want to eat some? If you want, go buy some. I can wait for you for a while."

Jiang Xi's face twitched slightly, and he said, "No, I've already eaten. Let's go quickly. We can't waste the time of the university bully any longer."

Wen Jing nodded, and before leaving, she glanced at Chen Songyan again and reminded him: "Hurry up and eat. There aren't many people here now. If you're any later, you'll only be able to eat noodles."

Chen Songyan suddenly laughed and said to her: "Okay, I'll go right away."

Wen Jing also smiled, said goodbye to him, and then turned around and left with Jiang Xi.

Jiang Xi took in the entire interaction between the two and his expression darkened.
