Chapter 104: Ma Tuan and the Gods

"I've noticed you and your sister He Huanping haven't met. There's only one possible scenario." Nan Song suddenly thought of something. "That's either you two are the same person, or your sister is just a figment of Fang Ruyue's imagination. The real you, for some special reason, can't meet your sister, even if you're playing games with us or teasing us!"

Nan Song paused, while Lu Nan Yao, standing beside her, looked at the person before her, shook her head, and said, "The soul is so weak that it's almost unnoticeable. Such a person should have long since ceased to exist in this world. You live in pain, but you make your sister experience the pain of her previous life again and again." She shrugged, indicating that she was noncommittal, and then explained, "Although painful memory reset can indeed produce a substantial soul and play a role in replenishing it, can it really do so for a soul that is too small and fragile? Your sister has been able to persevere until now, I can only say that I admire her!"

At that moment, all the questions became clear. Fang Ruyue's somewhat strange voice was also explained. Those scenes, including the rainbow lake upon entering, the mushroom forest, the giant mycelium mass, and the layers of spatial space, could all be Fang Ruyue's unique mental projections. The omnipresent mycelium and the strange shifting sky were manifestations of the fungal monster losing control.

The real Fang Ruyue may have been assimilated by the monster long ago, surviving in a strange way. And the monster, perhaps due to suffering severe injuries, had to rely on the human body and will to maintain its life.

Despite their fragility, humans possess a will and character unmatched by many animals. The intense desire to survive, the determination to resist the inevitable, the overwhelming rage, and the grief of lost loved ones—these are all key elements that attract monsters. Like a dying desert traveler spotting a clear spring, a severely wounded monster eagerly craves these qualities.

Everything seemed to happen naturally. Fang Ruyue survived in a unique way, realized her wish, and resurrected her family. The monster gradually recovered through humans and eventually established this space. The nourishment of spiritual power made the monster become more and more powerful.

Fang Ruyue's expression remained unchanged after listening to their words. She only frowned slightly, then relaxed. She shook her head gently, seemingly dissatisfied with their explanations. Then, she casually lifted her foot and gently poked the mirror-like golden water with her shoe, sending ripples spreading across the lake.

The mycelium slowly climbed up the Moon Shadow Snow Lotus, like soft tentacles, cautiously exploring this mysterious territory. The two stood on Golden Mirror Lake, staring at the crushed Moon Shadow Snow Lotus in amazement. Although both were initially puzzled, their expressions quickly changed, as if they had witnessed an incredible sight.

As the snow lotus fragments fell onto the lake, something strange happened. The surface instantly became as smooth as a mirror, clearly reflecting their figures. The two men stared at the mirror below them in surprise, as if entering a mysterious world. On the other side of the mirror, three figures stood on a raised platform, overlooking them. They were dressed differently, but all possessed an extraordinary aura, seemingly unreal.

One of them is Lou Xun, and if I'm not mistaken, the other one must be He Huanping. As for that man, if Nansong and Lu Nanyao chose Heiyuan, they would definitely see the other's portrait.

The three men stood on the mushroom-shaped umbrella cap, and their masculine aura was as outstanding as gods, but their eyes kept looking at Ma Tuan, as if they seemed to be hesitant to speak.

Lou Xun's gaze was complex, filled with emotions Nansong couldn't fathom. Meanwhile, Bai Di lowered his head slightly, conversing with Blore. Lu'e leaned against Blore's legs, seemingly listening to Bai Di, but more distractedly studying Blore's hair, which had grown longer due to the illusion of the snowy mountains.

Green-e's hair was like a piece of fine silk, covering Blore's legs, as if there were broken stars hidden in it, shining brightly.

However, when her eyes slowly moved to his face, Nansong had to admit that it was indeed a bit scary. Although the surrounding light was bright and sufficient, Yingli's eyebrows and eyes looked particularly heavy, as if shrouded by a layer of light shadow, giving people a mysterious and profound feeling.

The decadent, dark expression on his face complemented the mysterious atmosphere, creating a unique aesthetic. Even more striking were his inky black eyes, like deep black holes, which unconsciously revealed a demonic and eerie aura that instilled fear in people.

But Lu Nanyao next to her didn't seem to pay attention to these. Her gaze stayed on the last corner, where there was a large pile of mycelium, which moved slightly like a living thing.

Seeing that both of them were staring at the scene below the water, Fang Ruyue seemed reluctant to say anything more. She only left one sentence: "I wish us all good luck" and disappeared from the spot. Now, there were only Nansong and Lu Nanyao on the vast lake.

In the mirror lake below them, the wriggling mass of mycelium slowly began to condense into a human form. All around them remained indifferent, as if this scene was already commonplace. Everyone was absorbed in their own tasks, busy and orderly, and the atmosphere seemed a little stiff.

However, despite this, the other three people showed no surprise or curiosity at this strange sight. They continued to contemplate and observe, seemingly completely ignoring the fact that the mycelium was gradually condensing into a human shape.

Fang Ruyue struggled to tear herself free from the humanoid mycelium, her body trembling slightly, as if she had just experienced a fierce struggle. At this moment, her eyes accidentally met He Huanping's, and their gazes met.
