Chapter 14: Fierce Conflict and the Discovery of a Cavern Nest

"This really makes people sigh at the wonder of fate! By the way, do you think this can succeed?" Ma Tuan whispered to everyone in a pretentious manner, while stealthily glancing at the two people walking in front, his eyes full of curiosity and confusion.

"No one can say for sure..." Until this moment, Nan Song, who still couldn't see the development trend of things, could only answer honestly.

"Let's take it one step at a time." Bai Di concluded concisely.

"Oh, by the way, I found that there are many insects in this ancient forest that we have never seen before, but we rarely see large wild beasts. Isn't this a bit strange?" Nan Song lowered his voice and asked Bai Di beside him cautiously.

The road was unusually quiet at this time, with almost no one talking. Blore had already run ahead to look for Mu Yunchu;

Nanger, carrying Suijin on his back, remained silent throughout the journey, seemingly pondering something important.

As for Ma Tuan, I'm afraid nine and a half of his ten sentences are unreliable;

So, Nan Song made a prompt decision and chose to ask Bai Di, who seemed more reliable.

"As for large creatures, we haven't encountered any. But I think there should be at least some in a forest. Besides, according to the Lenilk people, this is an ancient forest, so it would be unreasonable if there weren't any." Bai Di thought for a moment and said to her.

"Oh, that's really strange. When Blore comes back, I'll ask him," Nansong sighed. "But I can see that you don't look very well either. Are you feeling unwell?"

Hearing this, Bai Di's face turned even paler in an instant. "It's okay," he shook his head and clenched his black cloak again.

"Okay," seeing that Bai Di didn't want to say more, Nan Song had no choice but to concentrate on his journey.

Following Mu Yunchu's lead, the group waded through a bone-chilling shallow ford and entered a dark and deep cave. The further they went, the dimmer the light became, as if shrouded by an invisible haze, making it difficult to see the surroundings.

At the same time, a pungent and unpleasant smell came to one's face, drilling into the nose like a poisonous snake, making people cover their mouths and noses and grope forward cautiously.

"Ah, where is this?" Blore asked in a low voice, his hand pressed tightly against his nose.

In contrast, Mu Yunchu seemed remarkably calm and composed. She didn't seem to be affected by the harsh environment at all. She simply said calmly, "We'll be there soon. The things you need to save the villagers are inside."

However, just when everyone was getting nervous, a cry of surprise suddenly came from the back: "Ah!"

"Bai Di, what's wrong with you?" Nan Song shouted anxiously.

For a moment, the original silence was broken in an instant, and everyone's eyes turned to the direction of the two of them.

Bai Di fell to the ground without any movement.

Ma Tuan was closest to them, so he rushed forward without hesitation and helped Bai Di up together with Nan Song.

When Bai Di's cloak fell off, everyone was surprised to find that blood-red flowers had grown on his hands and arms, looking like the eyes of a demon.

Why did these flowers appear on his arms? This was completely different from the symptoms of the villagers. Moreover, his limbs and head seemed to have no changes, and he just simply grew some flowers.

Perhaps because of this, no one noticed any changes in him along the way.

The three of them were confused and secretly shocked. When did Bai Di become infected by this flower?

"Bai Di, Bai Di!" Seeing Bai Di fall into a coma, Blore became extremely anxious. He grabbed Bai Di's shoulders and began to shake him.

He looked pale and his eyes were closed, as if he had suddenly lost consciousness.

Mu Yunchu also followed Blore to Bai Di. Seeing the worried faces of the three children, she gently comforted them.

"Don't worry, haven't you noticed that Bai Di's flowers are much smaller than Sui Jin's? Don't worry, the antidote will be available soon."

"Well, thank you," Blore was very excited. At this moment, Nansong and Ma Tuan couldn't help but place their hopes on Mu Yunchu.

"I hope it will be useful."

Only Nanger was standing in the shadow corner, staring at the five people expressionlessly, not knowing what he was thinking.

Ma Tuan carried Bai Di on his back and continued to head into the cave, with Blore and Nan Song standing behind him.

Soon, some light sources appeared in the cave, and they suddenly found that they had come to a scarlet place.

It is filled with caves of various sizes. Even under dim light, the caves have a faint red fleshy texture, covering the entire sky and earth. At the same time, the caves are also very huge, so they look very strange.

Blore frowned, observing his surroundings warily.

"It looks very dangerous here, everyone be careful." Nanger also said softly.

"It's okay, everyone relax first, we will reach his destination soon." Mu Yunchu comforted.

But no one was comforted by this weird atmosphere. Following Mu Yunchu's leadership, they walked cautiously towards a huge hole in the center, and every step was filled with tension and anxiety.

Suddenly, an extremely huge insect slowly crawled out of the cave.

The insect's body was covered in sharp spikes, and a dark, sticky liquid gushed out of its mouth. Everyone who saw this was terrified and quickly retreated.

"Everyone, don't panic!" Mu Yunchu yelled at the top of his lungs, "Don't attack. This bug can't hurt us."
