Chapter 205: Old Cause (V)

The runes on the surface of the heart suddenly resonated like an aria, and the words broke free from the metal and wrapped around the man's bare cheek - where there was a wound that was oozing gold.

The world stopped collapsing at this moment.

The vertical pupil in the center of the eight-eyed creature suddenly contracted, reflecting the golden nebula spinning in the man's left eye - the pattern was exactly the same as the beating frequency of the giant heart.

The burning puppets collectively turned towards the newly emerged being, holding hands to form a human ladder, their wooden bodies fused in the high temperature into steps leading to the heart.

The thick fog was suddenly sucked into the air by some existence beyond cognition, revealing a sacrificial totem made up of countless limbs on the ground.

The remains of the monsters that had been devoured by the tentacles were now being reorganized into some kind of multi-segmented embryonic form in the center of the totem.

With every contraction of the golden heart, the same rune mark as that on Sarnax's face appeared on the surface of the embryo.

Sarnax suddenly smiled slightly, and his skin and flesh formed a perfect arc that was enough to drive countless believers crazy.

"Don't call me that name, it's too unlucky."

The rune on the heart seemed to be stunned, but then began to flow again very quickly.

"What's the name then?"

But before he could finish his words, the last remaining head of the Bunker Giant suddenly spoke, its rock-crackling vocal cords mixed with metallic vibrations:

"The 3,000th harvest..."

Before he could finish his words, he was absorbed by the enveloping fog, and his head instantly turned into glass, weathering into quantum dust before hitting the ground.

The man, Sarnax, finally raised his right hand. The bone ring on his little finger was absorbing the surrounding light - including the flames burning in the eyes of the Eight-Eyed Demon Lord.

In the moment before absolute darkness fell, only the jellyfish filling the sky saw eyes exactly like the man's opened on the surface of the golden heart.

The sound of ice crystals shattering in the sky was like millions of mirrors breaking at the same time, and the biting cold of the Ice Age burst out from the dimensional folds.

What fell from the remains of the fortress giant were no longer ordinary ice cones, but "time prisms" condensed with ancient memories - each ice crystal contained a scene of the end of a civilization.

As they plunged into the burning crowd of puppets, the flames suddenly turned a faint blue, and long-lost human expressions emerged on the puppets' molten porcelain faces.

"They remembered..."

The bronze bell on Sarnax's earlobe formed ice flowers, and the bell tongue was actually a miniature human heart, beating at the same frequency as the growth of ice crystals.

The icy veins extending from his feet showed branches like blood vessels, and finally all connected to the huge golden heart in the distance. The rune chains covering the surface of the organ were now clearly visible as being woven from countless frozen nerve fibers.

Amidst the spatial tremors caused by Chonglou's descent, a muffled sound echoing from the abyss suddenly came.

It was as if some giant being was rolling over under the ice, causing the gold beads and jade pendants on the ground to crack and reveal the rotten internal organs.

The jade carvings oozed pus and blood as they rolled, and translucent tapeworms crawled out of the ivory fan bones - each treasure was being restored to its original flesh and blood form.

"The 3,000th harvest..."

The Ice Cloud Giant's final voice echoed in three dimensions in the frozen air.

Blood and tears suddenly flowed from the Eight-Eyed Demon Lord's lowest compound eye. As it fell, the drop of liquid unfolded into a holographic projection:

In a modern hospital, figures in white coats are packing refrigerated organs into boxes, and the kidneys inside the boxes correspond to a melting hill of flesh and blood in the other world.

Sarnax untied the belt embroidered with spells, revealing the dense stitches on his abdomen.

Blue light oozed from each wound, flickering in unison with the flames on the puppet's body.

"The creature born from the magma, who has been with you for countless years, once sacrificed its supreme god and its demon king in exchange for a sacrifice...

The supreme ruler of this world had his royal power, destiny, and even his entire body stolen...

I don't care about your affairs. Your life or death has nothing to do with me.

But you shouldn't have implicated him. He was also caught up in this matter back then, losing his memory and his sealing power, and he didn't know where he was in the world...

You've become like that...it's really sad."

The mist condensed on his fingertips cut through his abdominal cavity. "Are your organs enjoying their reincarnation through the three thousand worlds?"

There was no bleeding at the point where the thick, pure black mist was inserted. Instead, a large amount of gold and silver sand gushed out - that was the memory material that had been ground into atoms.

The three eyes on the left side of the Demon Lord suddenly contracted violently, reflecting a forgotten truth in his chaotic memory:

He remembers the pain of tearing himself apart when the universe first began.

At that time, He needed a container to hold the overly huge existence, so He turned His left eye into a star, His right eye condensed into a black hole, and His spine split into twelve galaxies.

In the chaos before time began to flow, He used His pale golden brain to smear the void and created the first creature that would call Him Father.

The thing called Magma is now sitting on the throne wearing His skin.

The pillars of the temple were wriggling.

Those once flawless crystallized bones were now covered with dark red blood vessels, which contracted and expanded with the false god's breathing rate.

He was nailed in the shadow of the dome, with seven meteorite spears piercing his vitals - these were the weapons he had forged with his own hands to suppress the rebellion.

"Father God has awakened?" The sound of magma was like sulfur roiling in lava.

It peeled back the skin that belonged to Him on his forehead, revealing the boiling asphalt-like substance within. "We discovered this hidden within your heart when we were distributing it."

A memory crystal was thrown into the air.
