Chapter 30: Blurred Memory and the Inexplicable Appearance of Black Mountain

Therefore, that mysterious land of inheritance has always been shrouded in a veil of mystery, unknown to the world.

Across this vast continent, people of all stripes live. Among them, a special group spends most of their lives on the road, constantly traveling and exploring. Even though these people come from different races, they share a common identity: witches.

Wukes like to carry a huge bamboo basket on their backs or push a cart, which has become their unique symbol.

No matter where they go, people can always easily recognize them. Their footprints are all over the continent, and they have witnessed countless landscapes and stories.

The profession of "Wu Ke" is not only a traditional name, but also contains profound meaning. "Wu" represents their connection with mysterious powers, while "Ke" symbolizes that they are always passing through and will not stay in any one place for long.

Because of this, they are also called "walking travelers".

Somehow, Nansong vaguely recalled the time when he was a child, unable to even walk steadily, and had to wander around with his mother.

There was a time when she wanted to recall the details of what happened, but her memory became increasingly blurred and she could not remember anything.

But after entering the forest, she became increasingly unable to control her brain and recalled her childhood.

To her surprise, the scenes in her mind played in front of her like a movie, and her mind became more and more dizzy, making her follow Ma Tuan in a daze like a walking corpse.

"Something seems amiss with Ma Tuan."

Nansong forced himself to cheer up and glanced at Ma Tuan.

Although I can only see the back.

"Where are those two guys, Blore and Bai Di?"

Nan Song felt as if he had used up all his strength before he could barely raise his head a little to look ahead.

Blore seemed to be in good spirits, while Bai Di covered his head with his hands, not knowing what he was doing.

The four "red-gold" moons in the sky emitted a strange light, and the surrounding black clouds were as thick as ink. They seemed like living things, constantly wriggling in the air and becoming denser and denser.

However, in the center of these dark clouds, countless narrow gaps appeared, like countless dark eyes, staring at the earth together with the four moons.

Ma Tuan's footsteps became heavier, and he seemed to see the ice-blue ocean again.

Whenever the sun shines, each wave will be burned with a golden edge by the sun, just like fine gold being crushed and sprinkled into the sea, sparkling and beautiful.

When lightning and thunder struck, he would climb up to the highest rock of the floating island and sit there quietly, feeling the power of nature. He believed that this moment was like the doomsday scene described in the book, full of endless mystery and majesty.

In a trance, Ma Tuan recalled his past experiences. He remembered that he resolutely left that place, and at the same time left the person with whom he shared the same blood.

Although he felt a little regretful along the way, he did not regret his decision.

Isn't he living a good life now?

The world gradually turned into a brilliant golden color, and the entire space was shrouded in this bright and dazzling color.

As soon as Blore turned around, Nansong and Matuan collapsed to the ground. Their bodies seemed to have lost their strength and lay there lifeless.

Bai Di half-knelt on the ground, tightly pulling the chains on Blore, as if using all his strength to stop him from moving forward.

He lowered his head, revealing two pale, slender hands from his wide sleeves. Although his consciousness had fallen into a semi-coma, he still did not let go, unwilling to let Blore take even one step forward.

Blore, however, knew nothing of this.

All he could see were rows of ancient trees with charred black bark. These trees were like old men who had witnessed the vicissitudes of countless years and were silently guarding this land.

The road he came from was undergoing wonderful changes. The original darkness was being replaced by brilliant golden light at an astonishing speed.

Every inch of land and every leaf becomes dazzling golden under this brilliant light.

The orange leaves gradually turned golden, shimmering with warm light as if soaked in sunlight. The whole world seemed immersed in a sacred and solemn atmosphere.

Blore suddenly felt as if he had nothing to lose, no longer had any cares or worries, and he began to stride forward, his steps firm and powerful.

However, at this moment, he noticed that the chain began to heat up slightly, as if a mysterious power was surging within it. As the temperature rose, tiny, pale golden characters gradually appeared on the surface of the chain, gleaming faintly, as if imbued with some unknown power.

Furthermore, the air around the chains began to twist and distort, forming strange ripples. But Blore was unaware of all this. He continued to stride forward, oblivious to the changes around him.

At the same time, Blore discovered that the figures of the elders began to become distorted and blurred, as if shrouded in a layer of hazy mist.

Their bodies gradually stretched, their originally uneven figures becoming elongated and grotesque. Their dark robes grew wider, their hems fluttering in the wind like giant wings.

What’s even more amazing is that when the sunlight shines on them, their bodies actually emit a faint golden glow.

This light echoed with the words on the chains, making them look like the surrounding trees growing on the dark land, bathed in blessings, constantly growing and multiplying.
